We purchase the RBC annual medical coverage. It is a reasonable rate (around 60 dollars) and covers us even for short trips across border ~ up to 14 days. I don't have to purchase or worry about it each time I leave the province. Then I purchase extra coverage for the flight/cruise portion using either RBC (which my TA uses) or through the place purchased (ie; Airmiles etc.). I always get coverage, even for the shortest getaways.
I am sure Carol (dirtgirl) will be able to input some good advice here. She is a Canadian and a TA and has run into problems while cruising which needed to be covered by insurance. She should be able to input some expert advice on the best to use but she is off cruising right now.

Yup, we had some of the white stuff ourselves.

Hang on people, her adventure isn't over yet!
Carol, thanks for taking the time to do a detailed review AND for clearing up a lot of the stories that we had heard. Good to hear it from someone who witnessed it first hand.
Can't wait for the rest of the holiday from hell story to continue....
It's much better than the book I am reading! :p

Beautiful, beautiful wildlife shots.
Not only are they perfect shots but the co-operation of the amimals are amazing.
We have been having such mild above average temps here. Yesterday the fog rolled in quite heavy for a while. Here is a shot off the bridge up the road from my place.

Really great pics everyone but I must comment on the acorn shot Roff, I love everything about it from the colours to the simple composition. Love it! :)

That baby is absolutely beautiful! :)
From our street festival last weekend.

SEJ, Nice picture introduction to the thread!! Looking forward to more.
Dillep, Beautiful shots of Moscow. :)

Thank you guys. :)
The Hawk photos are amazing!!
How perfect a pose especially on that wonderful stump. Really impressive.

Fab photos!! Love the colour and excitement.
I went another route with our fair and photographed some in black and white. There was also an air show at the time. I only have a Nikon P80. No fancy lens or anything so mine aren't quite so spectacular.
Highflying, hopefully there will be many more cheese curd years to come. I hope you are feeling stronger.

Really nice!
Our fair ends today as well. We are just heading down for the Air Show if the weather holds. Fingers crossed.

Beautiful! :)
Sparky, that should be an ideal time for travel.
I'm just not ready yet for the cooler temps and the big bad "S" word. (snow)

Yes Dave the leaves are turning here in Ontario. These were taken last weekend about 2 hours outside of Toronto in the lake district where we have a trailer....
-
Speaking of Toronto, I went out on a hike today since the weather is so much cooler.
We went along the Humber River and to the park.
Here's what I found along the way....

It's already happening in Toronto...
These are just dumb leaves. It's been hotter than hell up here!
Do leaves change when struck by lightning?
Dave
Dave, we've had the hottest, driest summer on record. Yes, it was mighty hot and humid. We just came off of a three day heatwave and woke today to chilly winds and cloudy skies. Definately feels like fall.

Wow, National Geographic had better sign some of you folks on!
Wonderful close ups and such sharp images. The duck in flight is really amazing.
Dave, the prom pics are a lot of fun. I am sure everyone is happy to have a personal photographer in the family. Everyone looks so beautiful. Could you come over and do our family shots? Oh, I guess you have to be pretty good looking to begin with! :D
Love all the photos people. Keep it up! I can't tell you how many of these I've used as screen savers. ;)

Wow, some really fabulous shots here.
Great idea Dave. I will have to dig out my camera for this Canada Day long weekend!
Happy shooting all!

Dave, Beautiful shot. Which ship was this taken from?

Does anyone know where this photo was shot? thanks :)
This looks like it could be the Meridian in Tahiti
I've also seen similar ones in Belize.
Good luck!
I got out and used my camera today...

I love all these night shots. Zackie, your first one is particularly beautiful.
Jen, you have a lovely daughter and both shots are beautiful. :)
Roff, your photoshop work was really interesting. I keep going back to look at it.
