  1. Also, the upgrade , would be less than 200. The cost is really not my concern, it is the motion in the front and the noise in the morning? I have read some of the reviews of these front suites and being just underneath the windjammer can be a serious problem. The upgrade would be a guarantee- so i would not know where in the front it would be???

We have been in a suite before, so we know what to expect. So unsure?

    thanks

  2. There is a stretch of sand that holds four beach clubs. We just returned from that area in January 2016 cruise. I wanted to provide some review of this area. A few years back we were there and it was fantastic but,

This year the seaweed, or whatever it is called is truly out of control. They are not allowed to clean out the weeds, all they do is rake it to the ocean, and it comes right back at you.

Also, inside the weeds are small clear looking balls, if you step on those they can be painful. The water is looking very dirty, much trash from years of use.

Further down Carlos N Charlies was one beach club that provided a bit more relief from all those weeds, but not much.

  3. I have spent three months before in the french riviera and what i loved about it was how the beach restaurants not only had great food, but was on the beach with beach loungers.

So my dh and i will be departing off from a cruise port, i believe fort de france, and I researched that Le petibonum is one of the best beach restaurants in Le Carbet.

So my question is, is this a feasible thing to do planning for a 4-5 hour LONG Lunch experience.

How much would it cost to get there, and back? And even though i don't know many words in french, politeness has always taken me far. And can i take a ferry?

    Many thanks in advance!!!

    Merci

  4. i have been to many of those beaches that you had noted, lovely beaches. And definitely , I am not an expert on Florida beaches and do not go there often, but i had to go back to look at my pictures to see what it was, in particular , that we all didn't like.

there was a great deal of sea weeds all along the shore line of the sand and through out sand it was dotted with black things. It could be sea items, or from the trees, but we couldn't step around them because it was all through the sand. And unfortunately, it just made me think of ugly cigarette buds( even though they weren't). So at the time in december, there was not a beautiful white sand, like in Bahamas, bermuda, or costa maya.

Maybe it was just the time of year?

    But the water was gorgeous.

  5. we also had much disappointment with sapphire beach. I read all the reviews and, yes my expectations were way up. We must have visited many of the world's most beautiful beaches, but here, it felt like I was in Florida (with a little bit of better looking water).

The whole condos thing was a downer, as well as the residents who did not like the other tourists.

We will be going again to st. thomas, but this time to Magens' Bay, so i will have a better comparison.

Oh, the chairs we rented were really old, broken, and dirty. There were lots of bugs when you sit under the trees for shade. Nice people at the dive shop, though.

We picked this place because there were five ships at port that day. We rented a van and headed out pretty early, but we should have left to another beach. The best part was a barbecue truck that we passed. It was the best barbecue i have had in years.

  6. thanks for the replies.

we are thinking about the month of October, but i didn't think about the how hot it can get in the aft?

When i called RCCL, they told me that for JS there was no room for a lounge chair, but i thought i read that some people had lounge chairs put in JS before? I know many a times what the phone centers say can vary greatly to what can happen on the ships.

  7. my wife and i are upgrading for the first time to a munior suite. We are looking at 9580 and 7392 on the adventure of the seas? I have read many of the reveiws and looked at pictures, but i have too concerns?

    1. how limited sun exposure for 7392?

and for the southern Caribbean- how's the wake?

    2. for 9580, can you ask the Stewart to bring in a lounge chair?

    thanks so much!

  8. Hello,

My daughter will be joining my sister on a cruise . We are loyal to the Royal so we are used to cruising, but we are finding it difficult to gather information about her upcoming cruse.

She leaves this Tuesday for a 11 day cruise on costa neoriviera?

Can she bring bottled on the cruise- for instance get a 12 pack and put a luggage tag on it?

Is there a charge for room service?

does anyone know at what age can a young adult leave the ship unsupervised?

and i read that it is important to have her shoulders and knees covered, is that really so??

she is going to Italy and the southern ports?

any help would be appreciated- thanks

  9. so i am working on this tour with courtney?

we have dunn's river planned for two people

a beach stop for the rest of the family

and lunch for the whole group.

my questions are for the people who have had his tours??

the beach stop bluebell beach? is there a charge for the chairs, umbrella? what is the beach like? I have read there are lots of rules and they separate the two areas?

For the beach people- i am wondering if we should just take the shuttle to red strip beach at the pier instead?

I have read the ocho rios beaches are mediocre?

  10. I know this may be a oxymoron, but I am traveling with a 22 yr old, and 16 yr old who are looking to have fun. Normally my DH and my self would book a cabana , but I am afraid it would be too boring for the kids and we would then be separated and I wouldn't be part of the group.

Thus, where can we go that can ensure shade. DH has be in the shade, I have to be in the sun! ( can I get one of those blue huts, for certain???) do they run out?? has good sand(for 12 year old) and a young adult/ teen play area for the older kids!

Several years ago, i have pics of my boys playing on the beach with a group of teenagers with girls on the necks all playing in the water. Everyone had a great time and the younger girls, played in the shallow water( watching the fish with her snorkel mask) at that time there were tons of small beautiful fish.

Goodness, that was four years ago- when he graduated for high school- now he is graduating from college- my time flies!

  11. we just finished a Christmas family cruise on the adventure. we had a great time. the prices went down considerable as we approached december. I booked early, so check weekly. When we left there were 12 balcony cabins empty , but there were only for two occupancy, for almost the same price of an ocean view room.

I noticed my cabin balcony partition could have opened to the other room, even though it was not a connecting room . But only to the room on my left, not on my right.

It would be nice to know which ones can give us this option, and if the steward would say yes, have they ever said no?? For families, connecting rooms are so hard to get- and i actually find JS not as convenient as having two bathrooms and two closets! If i don't change my booking again I will video tape the two rooms and the partition!

  12. i think in understand. On the indy, the 6626 and 6628 connecting E1 cabin for only three each with a pullman ( and whoever designed a pullman over the king bed should be shot) . can have the balcony partiton opened if the captain stewart allows it, YES?

But they may kick us to a different cabin if my group because four instead of 6. My problem is that i am not sure if my college kids will have an internship over the summer and unfortunately the job market does not give me advance notice, many months in advance. I would like to have room for them, jut in case. I didn't want to take a room for four because i know how many families need these.

as for the aft cabins, if i can ensure the opening of the balcony, even if they don't connect or there is 6688 and 6686, they don't connect, but if the balcony can be opened i can use that.

I just don't feel comfortable having my daughters in another room without it being connecting, somehow. Royal said there is no age limit to have family members nearby under age. I always thought there had to be someone over 18, she said no. And all the other connecting balcony rooms are already taken? Thanks for all your info, everyone has been so helpful.

  13. Two Major questions about Cabins?

!. i am booking on the Independence of the seas.

I would like to find two connecting cabins that also have a balcony cabin that i can open in the back so we can walk through. i saw this in a picture is this possible, and if so is this only with connecting cabins??? I am looking at cabin 6628 and 6626 or 9704 and 9706?

Second question, when you book a cabin for four or three and if the third or fourth person cancels- do they boot you off the cabin and switch you to a cabin for two??? Meaning can a two person book a cabin that is meant for four or three??

    thanks

  14. I prefer mr. Sanchos or paradise.

I have been to all three. My experience at Nachi was the worst.

    1. poor attitude- wouldn't accept credit card . agreed via email, but then only wanted cash

    2. seaweed all over the chairs and the front beach line. because it was poor weather and small crowd- didn't clean it up.

    3. isolated- really can't walk to the other resort areas

    4. only liked the guac- hated the other food. Used to great mexican food in Los Angeles

    5. very small beach area.

I know it is tough to decide- good luck. if it is a sunny day it is a win-win!

  15. Hi ,

i have been reading many of your wonderful comments and helpful advice. We are arriving on boxing day, the day after christmas and I am worried about what might be closed, and which beach would be best, plus prices for the group of us?

Since we are a family of 6 (3 young adults ), i thought it would be less expensive to rent a car via avis and there are only one other cruise line arriving, so we are looking for an active beach?

thinking of casa abao or playa porto marie? we need chairs, shade and beach rentals. ie. kayak maybe paddle boards, food or availability to bring it in? And is there an entrance fee?

Also, since we have a car, and a designated driver can you recommend another activity besides your beautiful beaches ? And lastly do i have to be worried about any road closures?

thank you so much in advance?
