  1. My only experience with the Cavern Club/Beatles was on the Epic. The process there was to go maybe 45 minutes ahead of show, get a seat and sip on a drink or 2 while waiting. From what I have seen/read it appears to me that on the Joy, there ars actually long lines of people standing well before the show. So my question for those who have been there lately is: When can you actually claim a table and when does the bar open? It would only make sense that they would open the bar and tables when people started arriving. Staff shortage? Other bars don't just open when there is a show going on for the most part. These 1960's legs aren't much good standing for a long period these days. 😞

  2. OP here. Still working on it. Today I was able to get my wife thru step 7 by adding a random pic. A message appeared saying a new pic was needed at the pier but the step could now be completed and it worked. So of course I went to my step 7 and did the same. No dice for me so I will be back at it tomorrow. This all happened after 3 support chats. Oh well, 1st world problems. My goal is to be miserable now instead of on embarkation day. I am half successful so far! 😞

  3. If it's not a dance floor, is it a mosh pit? 🤣🤣. If not, all the more reason to put more seating there!  My only CC experience was on Epic and it was used as a dance floor. Most standees stood behind the tables. The Joy CC appears to be a bit more chaotic. Getting anxious for my return to Beatlemania after being away for an entire pandemic.

  4. My research and previous experience tell me that no matter how early one gets to a Beatle show to get a seat, you will still have your view blocked by the latecoming hordes who stand on the dance floor. Can recent Joy cruisers corroborate this?  If so there seems to be a simple solution. Take the tables at the back  and move them to the front. Then create the dance floor at the back. People can dance and stand no matter when they come in but we early birds will keep the view we were so patient in earning. And before it is mentioned, I am well aware of the Waterfront option. Cmments?

Are there shops and restaurants within walking distance of the ferry landing at Martha's Vineyard?

Yes, presuming you are talking about Oak Bluffs. You said ferry but could you be meaning tender? Either way there is a street with shops and restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute walk and some on the cross streets as well.

  6. Being from Halifax I second that recommendation. There are several books on the Explosion and if anything it is an "underrated" disaster considering the death toll in the thousands. Most Americans have not heard of it. It was a side effect of WW1 and if it happened in a US port would be infamous across thr land. The Maritime Museum has decent exhibits on both the Titanic and the Explosion as jdavid pointed out. Lots of info and stories online as well if you google it.

  7. On a Canada- New -England cruise from NY, our first Canadian port is Halifax, a noon-time arrival. I am wondering what to expect process-wise and time-wise from Canadian Customs. Does this differ depending on your citizenship? We are Canadian so I presume it will be similar to arriving back in Canada after a cross-border trip and that filling out ArriveCan app may exoedite process. Anyone out there, especially Canadians, have experience with this scenario?
