  1. Hi all,

5 of us will be going on the Breeze in Jan. I wanted to order t shirts for us as a surprise. I was wondering if I can get suggestions for text to put on the shirts

    Thanks

You might look at a web site called we promo you.

  2. I am a first time cruiser and will be sailing on the carnival elation in late January. I am a maid of honor organizing a bachelorette party for this cruise. I wanted to know real peoples opinions on the cheers package vs ordering a bottle to your room. I feel that the cheers package might be a waste since we are at port and entire day. Let me know your advice.

It's a math problem. Just do the math and see if it works out better. Otherwise maybe it's not for you. Some people like not having to worry about how much they spend when they know in advance what the liquor will cost.

You get 20 drinks out of a bottle with normal pours of liquor. You still have to buy or bring mixers, unless you drink the alcohol straight. You can buy the soda package for $6 a day. So 20 drinks will cost you about $4 a drink +mixers. Let's say $5. If you drink the 15 drinks a day you were allowed under Cheers, that would be $75 day. $50 / 15 = $3.33. Cheers is cheaper. It's also more convenient as you're not lugging that bottle, cups, ice and mixers around the ship.

Of course, even though they say you can't share it, once they give you a drink you can do what you want with it. You can get a glass of wine and bring it to dinner. You can order another glass of wine on your Cheers at dinner.

If you're not smuggling booze on board and you plan on drinking a lot, Cheers is cheaper.

  3. What do u mean a rumour. I have personally been on CCL recently and no Capt Morgan. What can't u understand about that? U call that baseless. When was your last CCL cruise and did u see and CM or Gosling?

And I was on two weeks ago and plenty. Including at Half Moon and Little Stirrup Cays.

Sent from my SCH-R530M using Forums mobile app

  4. We met the guy right off. He was from the Ukraine, very tall - about 6" 5' and very friendly, but very loud (woke us up being "friendly" with guests almost every morning)

I would have spoken to him immediately about that.

    - First full day we leave the cabin. When we come back he tells us he did not clean our cabin because we did not put out the Crusin' sign and we must have it out for him to clean

Could it have been a language issue and he meant he was about to clean your room and if you leave out the Cruisin' sign he will clean those rooms first. What time did you come back?

    - That night we had some wine from our carry on bottles and left the room with the glasses. He chastised us telling us that if we took them we would not get any more as he does not have replacements.

That's BS. They can get them from the bar, or you can. On some ships they have a rack of them from the dishwasher so it's no problem.

All the other things, I would have been at the GS desk long before you. I've never seen a steward behave like that.

  5. Actually if someone was a no show, after the cruise the add on fees and taxes would be automatically refunded to the credit card that paid them.

Carnival used the OBC or price reduction from ES to pay off the port fees for the upcoming cruise. If one person is a no show, where does the refund of the port taxes go? To the person actually taking the cruise?

You may have to stop at GS to make sure everything is accounted for. The unwelcome person is better off being a no show than cancelling.

  6. The next lack of info came the next day at Little Stirrup Cay. Since all I had to go on was Half-Moon Cay, I made the mistake of assuming, and you know how that usually goes, that there would be some pavement around the shops. Wrong! The whole island is sand! I felt like I was at a "Mud Boggin'"!

There were some balloon tire beach wheelchairs on Little Stirrup Cay. You'll need someone to push you in it. I don't think Carnival has the crew to spare on the island for that.

  7. Found this article:

    http://www.travelpulse.com/disney-cruise-line-adding-lifeguards-to-family-pools.html

Looks like Disney is adding lifeguards yo the famiky pools on its ships. The article mentions tge child who drowned on the Carnival ship in October but not the child who was severely injured on the Disney ship last spring.

They'll be sorry. Now they'll have liability. That site must get advertising from Disney if they didn't mention the accident there.

  8. Usaually a $1 or 2 for room service, But I always Pre tip (Bribe more like it) the room steward, have done so every cruise and have gotten service Byond what I would exspect , They keep my cooler fresh with ice, Leave us numerous towel animals that we request( we like a zoo) and always have fresh clean robes/pool towels almost daily.

    John

They do the same for me with no bribe up front.

  9. Giving busy people money that has to be folded flat to be put away is making more work for them.

Now giving them say 10 singles in a pile with the top one folded in a cute way would make sense to me.

Yeah. We know how much harder it is to unfold a $10 vs a $1 so it's much better to fold up a single $1 and leave 9 unfolded than to fold up a ten spot.

  10. Same policy says tips for cruises to nowhere and those for Barbados are automatically added and paid during the booking process.

I don't know about the cruises to nowhere, but the cruises embarking in Barbados are usually citizens of countries where tipping is not the norm and service industry people are paid a living wage. So they build it into the price to account for that.

  11. So I was reading A thread on here someone complaining about her neighbors and she said when she was in line at guest services 20 people in front of her were canceling there pre paid gratuities .. I m new to cruising Why would people do this ?

I have a friend who is almost diamond and insists on only tipping the people she gets service from in cash. I've seen her tip at a local bar, so I know she's not cheap. Some people who may get a cut of the auto-tips will lose out. Others will get more and not have to share with anyone else. I'm sure the cabin stewards and MDR waiters would prefer it if everyone handed them the tips in cash.
