My sister and I just realized we will be on the Liberty for the Super Bowl. We have cruised during Super Bowl once in the past on the Fascination, which is a smaller ship. Anyone sailed the Conquest class ships during SB? Obviously they will show in the Sports Bar but where else? Any suggestions for watching? Thank you!!

I personally love these cabins. I only felt vibration when we were coming into port but we were already awake. As far as motion, I am prone to motion sickness and and haven’t been bothered. But mid ship is the best location to avoid movement with aft being second best.

I also tip an extra dollar (or $2) per drink. I take enough one's to count out 15 each morning and put them with my Sail & Sign card. Then I always know how many drinks I've had and when I'm getting closer to the 15 drink max (no judgement please). If I have special bartenders and servers, I usually tip them extra during or after the cruise. For exceptional service, I write a thank you note (pack of 8 from Dollar Tree/$1.25) and include $5's, $10's or sometimes a $20, along with a handwritten note of appreciation. This is not to pressure anyone. This is what I do and feel it's well worth it for the amazing service!

We sailed on the Conquest this past March. We love that class ship. Definitely visit the Alchemy Bar and check your Funtimes to get there early. It fills up and gets busy fast! For us, relaxing and listening to the violinists in the Atrium was a must prior to dinner. Very relaxing and we would order our drinks and carry them into the dining room. That way if bar service was slower, we had a drink while waiting. Definitely go to the deli. Again, try and go when everyone is on shore or first thing. It can also form a long line very quickly. Visit the Piano Bar at least once and listen for a couple of songs. I don’t know who the player is but they are usually very entertaining. Have a great time!!

Thank you Megan for this amazing “ride”! There isn’t a lot to read about the Liberty lately and I don’t understand that. I love the Liberty and have two upcoming 3 day cruises in August and September. Because of family obligations and illness, 3-4 day trips are all I can get coverage and help. I loved reading about the crew because I recognized so many of them from my recent May cruise aboard the Liberty. Regardless of the crew, the Liberty seems to always have the best!!

I love Teo as well! I will be on the Liberty again for two 3 days. 8/26 for anniversary with dh and 9/9 for birthday with sister. Check out Juni in the Ateium bar. She’s awesome. Tell her Cindi said hello and I will see her again soon!

I recently cruised on the Conquest. My observations were that on the exterior of the ship, there was some rust. I personally never saw it on my balcony and anywhere I saw it in other places, the crew was busy painting. I truly never smelled sewage and I explored the entire ship. I have a very sensitive nose. All this said, I am sure that the original poster has their own opinions and observations, which are also true. The Conquest is indeed one of the oldest in the fleet. I have sailed many of the "sister" ships and found this one to be the most "tired".

Definitely plan a day trip to the Jacksonville Zoo. It’s truly one of the best zoos I have experienced. The Zoo is only a mile or two down the street from the port.

I don't think they will question where your wife is for a coffee
Believe it or not, some bartenders will stick to the rules, hard and fast. My 22 year old son went to get a Diet Coke. I asked him to get me a club soda. No alcohol. The bartender knew who we were. She denied him the club soda 😮, saying the owner of the card had to be present. He waited 5 minutes and got the soda.

I live in Jacksonville so am fortunate to be able to drive to the port cruise day morning. We tried offsite parking one time and even though highly recommended, would never do again. On-site parking at the port is easy peasy and so convenient. There are some wonderful hotels at the beach in Jax. Jacksonville is a large city (area-wise) so it’s about a 30 minute drive from the beaches area to the port. The hotels closer to the port are just ok in my opinion and include those at the airport. Have fun on the Spirit! Wish I had known she was coming before we booked our Conquest Miami cruise next week!

I love the pictures!! I couldn’t find any of mine when I sailed the Carnivale in 1977. It was our school’s senior cruise and my first. We had inside cabin, bunks, metal lockers for closets and 4 girls! We showered sitting on the toilet. It was amazing! We ordered room service free and thought we were rich! Ah, the memories. Thank you for the trip down memory lane!

I have sailed the “L shaped” cabins many times and try and get one when I sail the Conquest line. I have found that I don’t miss the couch. Usually it becomes a “catch all” for all our stuff. I love love the extra balcony space. It puts us just a bit more away from our neighbors and just feels so spacious!

I don’t know if your SIL uses an insulin pump but if she does, just a reminder NOT to take it through X-ray. TSA sometimes isn’t informed and my son has to “gently insist” that he be wanded or have someone hold his pump while he goes through. He has never had a problem bringing his supplies through security though.

I don't know how it would work if Cheers were purchased on day 2, but keep in mind that if purchased online prior to the cruise, there is a 10% discount. It may cost as much or more to buy their drinks on day 1, then get Cheers on day 2.
Perhaps they can think about what they will drink, including specialty coffee, water, milkshakes etc. It may make things easier to decide.
I agree about Pre purchasing. I have always done that in the past. However for this particular cruise, I have a lot of OBC and the new rule for using it Pre-cruise won’t have kicked in yet. So I unfortunately will have to wait until boarding to purchase. My DIL and son just can’t seem to make up their minds about CHEERS yet.

You can buy Cheers on day 2, but unless you are sailing out of Galveston or New York, you will still pay for the full length of the cruise. They'll just credit back any drinks you paid for out of pocket on day 1.
Thank you so much!

I will be traveling on a 4 day Conquest cruise in 18 days. I have always gotten CHEERS in the past and will do so this particular cruise as well. My son and his wife are in another cabin. They would like, if possible, to not get CHEERS on embarkation day to see if it would be worth it. If they decide they want it, is it possible (like on RCCL) to get it on day 2 pro-rated? If not, could they get it later in the day and any drinks they purchased earlier that day be transferred to the package or would they pay for the package and the drinks they purchased? If anyone knows I would appreciate the answer. Thank you so much!!

I am Platinum but have never done the laundry service. Does the room steward leave a bag for you or do I have to ask for it? Do they offer this service for a 4 day cruise?

I meant to save the menus but completely forgot. Personally though I would do the steakhouse on the first night for the wine deal. If you're on the 3-day sailing elegant night will be night 2, so if any of your favorites are typically on that menu (highlights of that menu this sailing are prime rib and the pasta carbonara) you may want to plan accordingly.
Any guess which night is formal night on a 4 day cruise? I will have CHEERS so the free bottle of wine isn't a deal maker/breaker. I just don't want to go to the Steakhouse on formal night.

Thank you SO much for the awesome review! Very thorough! I leave on the Conquest in March and am so excited. I have sailed Conquest ships but never the actual Conquest. (I was on the Magic in September and also found the MDR food lacking. The service also wasn't what I expected from Carnival.) I am getting more excited than ever to try the Conquest, thanks to your review!

I have cruised on Conquest class ships many times but never on the Conquest. The last time I cruised out of Miami was over 20 years ago. Any helpful tips for the Conquest? Does anyone know which day formal night is for the 4 day cruise? Do you still get a free bottle of wine in the steakhouse on night 1? I am platinum but am treating my son and DIL to this cruise. He is gold but this will be her first cruise. We will be staying in balcony cabins. Getting SO excited!! Thank you for any help!

Why is there so much violin music. Is this a new trend? Is this in demand? I am cruising to the Caribbean, this seems odd. Is Carnival changing there business model from "The Fun" ship to the Lawrence Welk Champagne Ship?
They are far from Lawrence Welk type music! Yes, there are plenty of high energy activities on board Carnival ships. But I also thoroughly enjoyed listening to some extremely talented musicians prior to dinner each evening.

The violin group on Magic is something Electric Waves. They’re awesome! They did both a Queen and BeeGees tribute a couple weeks ago.
I totally agree! I enjoyed listening to them each night. A very talented trio!

I will be cruising on the Conquest in March. It's my first time on this ship, but I have cruised her sister ships. When I was on the Magic in September/2021, they still had the stringed musicians playing in the Atrium each evening. This is one of my favorite activities on cruise. We go there before dining and enjoy! Does anyone know if there is a group on the Conquest? If so, what is their name? Thank you in advance for any help!

We just got off Magic this morning, loved it and Port Canaveral is SO easy. Our check in time was 10:30 - 11:00 and we were on the ship right around 11:00. We were off the ship and home at 7:44 am - and that included waiting just a few minutes for our Uber.
I am so excited! I will be sailing first time post-Covid on the Magic 9/9!! We are platinum and have the 10:30-11 arrival time. What time did you actually arrive? I keep reading posts about early arrivers and want to beat the crowds/rush. Any suggestions?

Thank you for all the info! Our cruise wasn’t planned for Super Bowl but it ended up happening. I’m excited!
