  1. Thanks gr8 - I used Island Marketing for our last trip to Cozumel - went to Nachi cocom and had a great time. Just wanted something a little different this time, so went with Resort for a day. We will probably return to Nachi cocom on another trip because it was one of the greatest days of vacation. Haven't been to Cozumel Palace yet (33 more days) - will report back.

  2. I will be taking this excursion in about 33 days and can report back. It might not be worth it to you - but I want to get off the ship and do something and this way I can enjoy the pool/lazy river/ beach / food /drinks / non motorized beach toys in a nice clean area - no locals hitting me up to buy weed or their home made goodies (yes that has happened to us on every beach trip to Jamaica).

  3. I booked 4 shore excursions on 5 -13, with the new and improved RCI website - not user friendly, not easy to navigate, very slow to work,- nothing is showing up on my cruise planner (except for the things I bought before their new system went into place). I looked at my bank statement, yep the $284 had been taken by RCI (that was the cost of the 4 excursions), but 24 hours later only one is showing in my planner. I called last night and the RCI representative had me on the phone for 21 minutes and she was unable to find it cause the system was locked up. I called this morning, transferred to two different representatives who couldn't find it and said the system was now locked up as a security measure for the customer because two people  (both from RCI) had been on the site looking.... OMG really?

I have two cruises on courtesy hold that I am not going to follow up with because I do not trust this new system they have.

Anyone else having an issue with it?

  4. Their new way of having customers use their cruise planner is about the worst customer friendly site I have had the misery to work with. I signed up for 4 excursions with their RCI website, my bank was billl for all 4 but only 1 of them show up as being purchased. I called and was put on hold 13 minutes and then told that I would have to call back in 20 minutes cause I was logged into the system and she coudn't get it. The next girl saw where I had bood its, didn't know why it wasssn't showing up but was unwilling to give me a form saying it was paid for..... so my questions is do i trust RCI and they have my reservations..... or do i trust my insiints and wonder if they have their **** together?

  5. If you need a memory of your trip - buy a magnet for your refridgerator - otherwise your gonna find everything is cheaper at home. Also, make sure you pack your hair products, sunscreen, feminine items, tylenol, etc... from home - on the ship you will pay about 500% more (marked up cause they know you can't get it anyplace else).

Have a great trip, relax, enjoy the Oasis....your about to be WOWed!

  6. I make my own bed every day - just because I can't stand it not being neat looking. I only want 3 things from my steward/stewardess.... clean towels/wash cloths, ice twice a day and a towel animal every night. Some of you might say that the towel animal is just an extra - but for me, its my vacation, and its what I expect. I do tell them this up front and I have never been disappointed.

Sorry you had a bad stewardess - and I agree with the other posters - someone needs to know.

  7. Has anyone been to the Cozumel Palace Resort? Good? Bad? How far is it from the Oasis of the Seas cruise port? Thanks for the info.

Went to Nachi last trip - loved it, but want to check out another AI.

  8. Go to the store and buy several different flavors of the squirt Kool-aid. Carry it on the cruise -

If you want a slushy fruity drink: have the bartender mix ice/diet sprite/vodka in the blender and then squirt your favorite flavor in the glass - you will get the fruity flavor, beautiful colors - depending on what flavor you buy - and have a variety. (the orange and cherry are my favorites, they also have strawberry, fruit punch and raspberry) Enjoy! You could also do this with the diet tea packets and make a long island ice tea... you just gotta get creative with what you can bring with you to make your own mixture.

  9. Be sure to reserve your ship shows on line - you won't get in if you wait to make reservations when you get on the ship - not many shows have walk in seating available.

Parasailing was awesome in St Marteen - Orient beach.

St Johns beach break was beautiful (St Thomas).

Also, if you are more into sitting by the pool and relaxing, check out the resorts in the area that have an all inclusive day rate - good way to check out a land vacation spot by visiting a resort for a day. Often these day resorts have activities like snorkling/parasailing/banana boat rides/scuba/non motorized ocean toys/pool games/wave runners. Google resort for a day to get info on those.

  10. I can't answer everything, but I can answer the food questions. I have food allergies and RCI has been very accommodating to those. The first day, go to the dining room that is open for guests that have changes to be made and talk with whomever is in charge and explain your food allergies/needs. They will make sure you get everything you want and it be in line with your dietary restrictions. Each night the head waiter comes over to the table with the menu for the following day/night and asks what he can do to accommodate my food preferences and they make whatever I ask for. They will tell you that this accommodation is better if you are in the main dining area and not at the buffet and is difficult if you are in the My Time Dining room - so we just eat in the main dining room with a fixed table assignment. Never have had a problem.

Enjoy the Allure - she is my favorite ship.

  11. How about the pool patrol just do their job and stop the chair hogs.

People would stop putting their stuff on a chair to reserve it if they had to go somewhere to get it each time they finally decided to make an appearance. Might work even better if that person had to walk clear to customer service to get their stuff. Towels could just be put in the laundry, but imagine if you had to walk and stand in line at customer service to get your book or sunglasses....The library would have lots of new books for the upcoming cruise I would think.

  12. When the Oasis / Allure first sailed, there was a thread started regarding it (much like the Quantum of the Seas countdown thread). Does anyone have this saved or know how I can go about finding it?

It had a lot of great info about these ships and I found the thread helpful when planning our Allure cruise in 2011 and would like to re read it now that we are going on the Oasis - in 52 days! Thanks for your help.
