I wouldn't bother me. I don't think it's done very often. What's 2 more people having dinner in the restaurant one night? It's not ever full, from all reports. It's not like they are taking up lounge chairs or space in the pool. I think it's a nice thing to do for a special customer once in awhile.

That is TWO people that did NOT pay to be there -period! I just got off the ship today staying in the Haven .. and it was more full than I am use to.. I can't imagine more people in there.. and so what if it is not full.. that is the POINT of paying for this area! This ship is like a jungle in other areas.. sorry.. just is!

  2. I may be wrong, but isn't there a different menu for suites? (Jewel) I thought we received one that was different. And if I am crazy ,is it just the Haven rooms? And of course you always have the option of breakfast/lunch from Cagneys. Maybe this is what I am thinking of. This was sooo good in the morning. Just a word of caution, if you order the steak , and eggs, and don't like it real raw, ask for well done.. or at least med well. Other than that.. there are just so many great options for breakfast/lunch to be sent to your room/or courtyard if you are in those rooms. One of our favorite lunches was in the courtyard for lunch! We were not even there for lunch, and a WONDERFUL courtyard person said can I bring you lunch? And she was just so kind, always when you saw her. Even though she was not our butler,we tipped her nicely at end of cruise for that lunch. (not sure if she was anyone's , or just worked the courtyard??)

  3. Either time if you book the haven you will be able to swim and relax because the haven has a retractable roof so when its cold its closed and when it gets warmer its open

    Enjoy!!

Ah yes ,this is so true. I had a haven cabin for that cruise, and we did "lay out" inside. It was really nice & warm, and actually felt like we were in warm weather! And we were happy when they retracted the roof a bit , cause it got too warm at times:)

  4. Has anyone sailed on the NYC to Florida/Bahamas route in February or March? I like the price of the Courtyard Villas on those sailings, as opposed to a caribbean sailing during the same time frame. What is the weather like though? Is half the trip spent in cold weather? It must be popular enough of a route for NCL to have two ships sailing it. Any experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

We went out NYC last Feb. I would think the Caribbean is going to be warmer for longer for sure. But last feb. to Florida/Bahamas we had lovely weather in both places. They did say though that the day we were in Fl. was their first warm day in a while. Bahamas was nice and warm as was their private island. I tend to forget the sea day weather , I'm sure it was warm 2nd full sea day. Not sure about the 1st full sea day though. I am sure others will know more than me !

  5. I mentioned to someone today that throughout our recent cruise and since returning home from FL, my ankles have been swollen...really swollen. This happens every year so that for the last three, I've done the low sodium menu for dinner (but who knows how much sodium is in the food at the Lido at lunch or breakfast!).

She thought it would be a good topic for CC as it happens to her, too. So I'm throwing it out here.

We went from 18 degrees in MA to sunny FL and then 80 degrees throughout our cruise...plus the humidity. When we returned to FL for a few days, it was in the mid 70's.

I've started increasing my water intake and that seems to ahve helped today. I drank lots of water while sitting by the pool on the ship but perhaps with the increase in temps, it wasn't enough.

Has anyone else had this happen while cruising the Caribbean (or other warm climates)?

Happens to me on every cruise no matter which climate. I asked my Cardiologist about it, and he said it was the salt in food.
