Thoughts on the Gem with an 11 year old?
Newfun4me replied to Newfun4me's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Thanks! That little one is a world traveler - Ireland and Scotland last year and Greece and Canada the year before. Paris is on their itinerary for this year, but they are in a wait and see mode. We'll definitely have her passport. -
Thoughts on the Gem with an 11 year old?
Newfun4me replied to Newfun4me's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Thanks - I worry about her interest in the clubs at her age, too. I would LOVE it if she could bring a friend. We always did that with my son (only child), but it's a little different because she's my niece and they live out of state. I don't really know any of her friends. I asked my sister her thoughts on that, but she wasn't a big fan of the idea. 🙂 -

Newfun4me replied to Newfun4me's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Hmmm... something to consider for sure. I'm a little worried about it with her as I want her to have a great time. I could also look at Joy and Breakaway. I guess more research is warranted. 🙂 -
Hi All, We just rebooked our cruise to Bermuda (initially planned for the first week of June this year out of NYC) for the beginning of June next year. We were originally scheduled on the Encore and have rebooked on the Gem from Boston. My husband and I will be cruising with our 22 year old son and his girlfriend and my niece who will be almost 12. There was a lot of stuff to do on the Encore. What do you think about the Gem for their age bracket? With the discount and the extra credit, I was able to book the Garden Villa for less than what I spent for 2 Haven Suites on the En

Its 05/07/2020 Where is the refund form???
Newfun4me replied to tgloersen's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I can access the form, but it's telling me my information doesn't match. That's awesome. -
So, would it be possible to add him to one of your rooms AND book him an inside cabin? Is that even doable??? I think you mentioned in one of your posts that you had the space to add him as one of the 6 people per cabin, but that the sleeping arrangements wouldn't work. If that's the case (and I'm NOT an NCL expert), I'm wondering if this option would work??? If so, your whole party would legitimately have access to the Haven, but they could just sleep elsewhere. Just a thought. BUT, I'm with you - in my younger days, I would have gone on ANY paid for vacation and happily!!! Have fun an

Ugh - so bummed. I'm so sorry! Like you, we'll be going - it's just when... Enjoy your cruise next year!!!!

I was so looking forward to a couple of days in New York, finally seeing Wicked on Broadway, and time spent with my hubby, son, his girlfriend, and my niece. We are still currently booked on the NYC to Bermuda on May 31 in two beautiful Haven suites. It would be the first cruise for both my niece and my son's girlfriend and we were excited to treat them to some serious pampering. I am bummed to miss the time spent on the balcony with a beverage in hand and the fabulous food. We'll be going again ASAP.

Has this changed the way you book a cruise?
Newfun4me replied to JIMESOPUS's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I think it will change the way we book. I am a planner by nature and like to have things booked really far in advance. However, I think we will probably know that we are vacationing during a specific week and then book whatever works for our budget within 60-90 days. -
Would you cruise if there was a "modified experience"?
Newfun4me replied to Liljo22's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Me, too. 🙂 I'll happily pay for that experience. -

For those Cruising before May 31, Cruising or Cancelling?
Newfun4me replied to Dwang's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
We are cruising unless something crazy happens in the next week. The only real concern I had was quarantine and there are lots of ships still continuing to do their thing and get people home without quarantine. I also spoke with an Infectious Disease physician I know yesterday afternoon. He was in DC last week meeting with the CDC, NIH, DOD, and the White House and he said he thinks it is all overblown and has been a snowball effect. He lives in Seattle and said he and his family aren't doing anything differently. He said that it will get worse before it gets better as it spreads and more -

We are heading to Cozumel on the Vista in April. We've been numerous times, as well, although usually from a land-based vacation in Playa. What do ya'll do there?? We aren't really planning anything in advance, so I'd love to hear any advice you have. Thanks!
