The scent is lemongrass.
Yeah, that wasn't it in 2003, but as others have said, they have likely changed since then (although HAL is still using Elemis, which is what they were using when we sailed with them 10 years ago).

Captains Club Email...celebrityonetouch@celebrity.com
Captains Club Phone Number...1-844-418-6824
Thanks so much! Will give this a try.

Are you members of the Captain's Club? You can call them or e-mail them your request.
Yes, we are; I didn't realize that you could contact them separately. Do they have their own email?
-
Call Celebrity now and tell them your preference. Then upon boarding check with the Maitre'd outside the main dining room to double check.
Thanks for the reply. But ugh, calling Celebrity is such a pain! Each time we have done this we have been on hold at least 20-30 minutes. :(

We have chosen Traditional Dining with the 8:30 p.m. seating. Is there a time that we can request Table for 2? There does not seem to be an option to do this through the Celebrity web site.
-
We are sailing on Celebrity next month and prefer a Table for 2. When is the time to request this? I saw no option when booking, which we did directly through the Celebrity web site (we did choose the later seating). Should we go to the main dining room when we arrive on the ship?

I hate the smell of their toiletries!! Shampoo is OK instead of washing powder:D
Has Celebrity changed their products? When we sailed back in 2003 for our honeymoon, I really liked the scent of the toiletries, which reminded me of the sea. :)

And there you have it, OP. A lot of passionate responses on both sides because everyone thinks that way they do it is the best way (and as I said, it is, for them). So, figure out what works for you and do that since what others do doesn't impact you at all.
Haha, I think you are right--I didn't realize that a seemingly simple question would turn up such a controversy! ;p

Thanks Dianne!

Although my husband and I have cruised before, it's been awhile (10 years!). We don't remember what we did last time with our passports. Can you usually keep them in your cabin safe during the whole trip? Or do you need to bring them when you disembark in port? We are only going to Bermuda/US ports.

Also, I have not found that ship tours try harder. I often feel the guides are rather mediocre.
The ship tours aren't run by the cruise line--the are usually run by the same outfits that run "private" tours! I was able to research all of our upcoming excursions on TripAdvisor.
-
I have always been a Nervous Nellie and have taken only ship sponsored tours and excursions as I have always been under the impression that if something happens to delay a tour's return to the ship, the ship will wait for a ship sponsored tour, but will not wait for someone delayed on a private tour. This reason is enough for me to stay with ship sponsored tours. I know they are more expensive, and sometimes crowded, but missing the ship departure is not an experience I would like to have. My DH is worse than me, he doesn't even like taking ship excursions the morning of departure, if for example, the ship is leaving at 1PM.
Linda, my DH is similar to you in worrying about getting back to the ship...AND he worries about some of the other horror stories described in this thread. I understand that these things are more rare, and yet at the same time, I don't mind booking ship-sponsored excursions, as we have not been disappointed in one yet. I also don't think that they are necessarily much more expensive when you consider that they cover everything (transfers, admissions costs, etc.).
We are on Celebrity Summit to Bermuda/NE in June, and we booked 4 excursions for the 10-day cruise. We are in Bermuda 3 days, and we decided to explore the middle day on our own--we figured we'd be safe that day since the ship won't be leaving! :D
-
Happy birthday to both of you--nice to know there are others celebrating 50 with Celebrity too! :D
-
Nice report! I turn 50 next month and my husband in July; it's also our 15th anniversary in June. Just a week after our anniversary, we will be on Celebrity Summit to celebrate.
-
Lynn, we are on the June 17th sailing too! Have you joined the Roll Call?
I recently found out (after we booked actually) that my best friend from high school took this cruise several years ago and absolutely loved it.
-
I know this is an old thread, but we will be in Bermuda from Summit this June, and I'm hoping that more people who did this excursion last year can provide feedback. Does anyone know what exact beach it goes to? What islands comprise the tour? Thanks!

Those pastries are leaving me drooling!

We just booked with ChoiceAir. We're not going international, but we are in a small airport market (Rochester NY), and there were very few flights available as per my own research. The flights Celebrity offered were exactly the same price.

I will try to add things of interest. If you have a specific question I will try to find the answer.
Thanks! I don't have any specific questions right now, but if you come up with any "must knows" or "insider secrets," I'd love to hear!:cool:

vtcruising, thanks so much for your report so far--it sounds like a cool cruise! We will be sailing Summit in June, so I'm interested in anything else you have to share about the ship.
-
Thanks for the quick, ghstudio! We don't plan to upgrade--with pina coladas included (my husband will be happy about that!) we can definitely find plenty that will work for us within the Classic selection. :)
-
We are also new to drink packages; my husband and I both got the Classic Drink Package for our Summit sailing in June.
I reviewed the information about what's included, but we still have questions about speciality drinks such as pina coladas--do this generally fall under the $9 limit? Are there any pitfalls to know about--e.g., things that seem like the would be included in the Classic package but aren't?
I'm not a huge drinker, so I am sure I could make do with daily Malibu Bay Breezes. :D
-
I will be on the Summit October 22, 2017 for the Repositioning Cruise..... I am in a S1 cabin ... but I am 6'3" and require a little more space than most....... looking at the deck maps maybe on deck 11 the sun terrace aft?
How did this work out for you? I'm a yoga teacher too, and I will be on the Summit in June.
-
I was wondering this myself for our June trip on Summit. I'm a yoga teacher myself, so it would be great to take classes on ship. The tip thing seems a little odd to me--I've never been tipped for any of my classes! ;)

Question about the wines by the glass: is anything <$10 covered under the Classic beverage package?
