  1. Hi

I'm sailing on August 6th and looking for advice from those who have sailed on the Vista.

I want to plan our own meet and greet since Carnival can't seem to get it right. What room or location would you suggest to use to have our meet and greet that can hold around 100 people?

I was thinking the Library bar? We are planning for 10 AM.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks

    Kellie

  2. Thank you so much for the review. We also have cabin 7448 booked for our two teenage daughters and I was quite concerned about the noise. Glad to hear that the room is very quiet.

Deck plans show this room to be a connecting room, did you hear any noise from your adjoining neighbour? Also just wondering if there are stairs right outside your cabin which lead to the Havana area on Deck 5?

Glad you had a fantastic trip! :)

Glad you asked this question. I am also in 7448 and can't wait to hear what she has to say about it. I'm on the August 6th cruise.

I also saw stairs outside our cabin and wondered where they go! I'm so relieved to hear it is quiet :) :):)

  3. Carnival scheduled the one for 5/24 sailing on our next to last day at 4:00 in Limelight lounge while port time is til 6 p.m. A request to change has been sent, but we have our own booked on embarkation day as we have no idea if they will adjust or not.

Thanks. How did sounding out ahead of time when and where it will be?

  4. Hi

Looking for any advice from the couple of cruises that have gone already on what day and time did Carnival schedule the meet and greet? We have an active group but I've heard rumor that the Carnival planned ones are on a port day during an inconvenient time. Any feedback on times and places so far would be great. Thinking of just planning our own.

    Thanks

    Kellie

  5. Have a look at Hotel Jazz at the top end of las Ramblas. We stayed there 2 years ago and are staying there this year. It is really handy, has a great breakfast and also a lovely good sized pool and terrace. You can check it out on trip advisor as well for good reviews [emoji1]

We are also staying at Hotel Jazz with 2 other couples and we are on the same cruise as you are!!!

  6. Hi friends!

We're hopping on a plane in a few days to board the Vista next Saturday (ahh!!!). I'm a big believer in the whole pay it forward thing, and I've used these boards to help me plan for this trip, so the least I can do is contribute some information back!

So if there's any questions you have about the Vista, anything you want to see, anything I can investigate, whatever, feel free to post it and I'll try my best to get it answered!

We're booked in a Havana Cabana on deck 5, so we'll definitely bring back info and pictures there (and if the internet is decent, I'll try to do a Facebook livestream thing!), and we're definitely planning on exploring every nook and cranny of this gorgeous ship!

    Nicole,

I just followed you on Facebook and Instagram!! I love to follow travel writers and yours looks to be fun! I am on deck 7 in a Havana interior cabin #7448. I am a little nervous about the band at night in the bar as I think my cabin is right above the bar and there are no cabins on deck 6 below mine. I would LOVE if you would check out the hallway of deck 7 near my cabin of 7448 at night when the band is playing and see if you can hear it? I know crazy request but you asked :):)

Thanks so much and have an amazing time and I will be watching for your Facebook live posts!!

    Thanks

    Kellie

  7. Since it's a European Cruise and very port intensive I'm not sure how much time I'll have to post while on the cruise but you never know I may pop in.

I will post as much detail as I can post cruise when I get home...

    Lou,

I think you said you are in a Havana interior? If so do you mind saying what deck? I'm in a Havana Inside on August 6th and I'm worried about the band noise. We are on deck 7 in 7448 but there are no cabins below us on deck 6 to buffer the noise. Not sure that the Havana bar is two stories high but just wonder if we are right over it. I look forward to any feedback you might have on the noise and what you think about noise up on deck 7. Have a great cruise!!

    Thanks Kellie

  8. This is strange because the girl at Carnival told me I couldn't get my seats until June 4th for my July 6th flight. Did you book your cruise with a PVP at Carnival? I booked our cruise with an outside TA. Are you flying Delta both ways? They gave me Air Canada for my return flights. None of this should matter. Right now I don't have much confidence in their Fly2Fun program. I guess I'll have to waste another hour on the phone with them and see if I get a person who knows what their doing.

Sorry this is not going well for you. I booked the cruise myself online at Carnival. Then I just called the fly2thefun and worked with whoever answered the phone. I am flying Delta and KLM who is their partner. The guy I had at Carnival did really seem to know what he was doing. Wish I remembered his name so I could pass it on. :( Good luck!

  9. How can you pick your seats without a ticket number? A record locator number brings up your reservation, but without a ticket number you can't pick your seats? Did you book flexible air and they don't have to be paid until your cruise final payment? I did and I was thinking that you have to pay for your flights when you book them to be able to pick your seats.

I do have flexible airfare and have not paid. I don't know how I did it but I've looked several times on Delta site and I have seats assigned.

  10. I also have some flights booked with Carnivals Fly2Fun and when I tried to call Delta and pick my seats, I was told I didn't have a ticket yet. I just have a record locator number. I called Carnival and the girl I spoke with checked and said I won't be able to pick my seats until June 4th!! We are sailing on July 9th and waiting that long to pick my seats will just not work!

    Hi

I just went online to Delta after Carnival sent me a PDF with my record locators and used those locators as my confirmation number and my flights popped right up and I chose all my seats. I just went in now using that same record number and my flight and seats are all there. Wonder why I'm not having trouble. Makes me wonder...

  11. Hi,

I just booked my Vista airfare through Fly2fun program. It was so easy and I think I got great pricing!! I live in Minneapolis and when I was checking on my own, pricing was anywhere from $1400.00 to $1800.00 to Barcelona. My cruise is in August so I expected it to be higher but wow!! The price I got through Carnival was $1250.00 each. One of the best parts is I have until my final cruise payment date of 5-8-16 to pay off the airfare also!!

I also have the ability to cancel or change airfare up to 60 days before flight. Overall it was a great experience, the rep was very helpful and knowledgeable and helpful.

  12. We did this in 2011 when my sons were 11 and 17. It was the BEST excursion we ever did!! My kids talk about this excursion still.

It was very tiring as they really wanted to win so we RAN the whole way. We did win the race and have very cool medals.

They loved interacting with the locals and solving the clues and puzzles.

Make sure you wear tennis shoes and follow the clues exactly. Also don't use the phone they give you unless you HAVE to because you are penalized the time you are on the phone. That's if you are super competitive as my kids were

Again we loved this excursion and felt it was very well organized!!

  13. I was on the Epic in May from Barcelona with 4 women in the same balcony cabin. It was myself my mom, stepmom and another friend. Yes the cabin is small and the bathroom layout is unique but I would rather spend the money on the great excursions and experiences we did in the Med. than the cabin. We left the cabin every day by 7:30 and didn't get back until 6 or so. With dinner and other fun things to do at night we really used it for sleeping. We had the couch and pull down bed and we made it work with 4 women that all needed makeup, showers and all the other crap that goes with being female :).

Yes it got cramped and we had to strategically move around the cabin but we made it work and enjoyed all of it!!! We certainly got to know each other with the bathroom situation but we are all adults and handled it.

I guess depending on who the 4 adults are in the cabin and how comfortable you are with each other, it CAN work. PLENTY of storage space. We all had one large suitcase and a couple of us had smaller carry ons and ALL luggage fit under the beds no problem.

    Enjoy!!
