  1. As I understand wines under $10 a glass before service charge are included. When I search for pictures of the bar menu all red and white wines listed are below those $10. Is there a special wine menu with wines more expensive or is the $10 limit identical to all wines?

There are 2 whites and 1 red over $10. If you go to bon vot gifts on the NCL website, it lists wines by the glass.

  3. Taking the jade in October

    Ports of call

    Naples

    Florence

    Palermo

    Sardinia

    Monte Carlo

    Barcelona

    Valencia

    Tunsinia

Wondering if any of these ports you can walk off ship and explore without the high cost of shore excursions

Palermo has a hop on hop off bus with a stop at the port. This was probably my favorite on my own port. If you arrive on the weekend, the bus passes by a park with a little flea market. There are 2 routes, about 2.5 hours total time to do both routes.

Also, if you're into history at all, a tour of tunsia is a must. I was thrilled with the chance to visit carthidge. I would avoid a tour with shopping highlighted as part of the tour. The merchants in and around the shopping areas take agressive salesmen to a whole new level. I made the mistake of buying something from a street vendor. I literally ran back to the bus with 5 other vendors on my heels.

Because of the recent political changes, it's best to do a organized tour. Check viator to see if they serve tunisia, but going on your own right now is not a good idea. But it's still a place you should see!

  4. That's all I have for you. Good night everyone! :):)

Thank you!! A little more then 300 days and i'll be in the picture!

I have a couple of questions if you don't mind.

Where do they have hammocks at? What kind of food do they serve at Endless Summer? Did not see that listed under restaurants for the Star. And lastly, is the sushi bar all you can eat, or do you just take what you like from the conveyor belt and pay per plate?

    Thanks again for sharing! :)

  5. I would appreciate any info you have for the Azores. We will be there in May and don't have a plan as of yet. We would like to take a taxi tour but cannot find one. Please tell me what you did and if there is someone we can contact. Thanks so much Kaye14:o

Take a look at www.geo-fun.com. They have quite a few tours for Ponta Delgada.

  6. Daughters family does not have a credit card. According to the NCL web site if you use cash for your onboard credit account instead of a credit card, they require $100 a day per person so for 2 people 7 day cruise it would be $1400 down. After calling the people at NCl they said it is $500 per person for the first to people in the room for the entire cruise not per day. So 2 people would be $1000. Has anybody used cash for there deposit and if so how much did they really require at check in. Im not real comfortable with what the people at NCL tell me.

There are a couple of ways around the cash deposit; they could give you the cash, you could buy on board credits for them. they're listed on the NCL website in the bon voyage gifts sections.

The other option, if they don't have a debit card with a visa/mastercard logo, they can purchase one at most check cashing places, load it up as much as they'd like, and go from there. There are fees for buying the card initially, but it does solve the problem fairly well.
