Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We did self assist also and left at 8:20. It was almost bad as a Disney line. Took us an hour and a half to get through. Easy once we got at the desk with the agent. But the line was not fun. Then locating a restroom was interesting- finally found them outside of that warehouse and around by the Uber/Lyft pick up . I guess some of their agents were processing the other cruise ship passengers… Also we were told around 4900 passengers were expected to load on Bliss today after we left for a five day. That’s about 1100 more passengers than our cruise. Yikes!!
  2. We did a Viator tour - private tour for the four of us - Private Antigua Excursion. The driver was excellent and the tour guide was top notch - Eduardo. He knew so much about the history and geography, economics, architecture of the area. He stopped us at a local market so we could buy a local beer to try out. He also stopped at a really neat coffee and bake shop for us to have some super smooth guatemalan coffee and treats. They sold us the coffee too! He walked us all over town to tour beautiful old churches and buildings and town squares. Highly recommend!! His Dad Hector is also a tour guide and supposed to be great too!
  3. Anyone know if the champagne bar serves decent bubbly? thanks in advance!
  4. I had (ahem, several) Grey Goose and tonics on my last NCL cruise and they were super duper refreshing! I plan to stick with those mostly on my upcoming Sun cruise. But I'm curious to try the Espresso Martini. .... ☺️
  5. We brought empty water bottles and filled them with cups of water at the water stations on the Jewel so that we'd have water for when we were on excursions. I wish they had nicer water bottle filling stations like you see at the airports and in modern buildings, but we made do. We also were able to bring cups of water to our room. It all worked out ok doing this.
  6. I too noticed that the ship did not have enough vegetarian and vegan options. It's odd in this day that there aren't more options readily available, it doesn't seem like you should have to be treated differently for that. Yvonne, did you go to the arial show on the ship? They were outstanding! (can't remember their names). Your review of Rock You Tonight was the same as some in our party who attended. Ha. Enjoy the last day or so on the ship, you and your Dad deserve all the best!
  7. Sounds like another fabulous day! You asked about breakfast in any of the main dining rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast in Tsars Palace! Everything was tasty - huevos rancheros, breakfast burrito, smoked salmon and bagel.... YUM. You mentioned how you love the oatmeal on the Jewel - have you tried the Muesli? I loved it at the Palace! And the close second was the muesli at the Garden Cafe. Did you try O'Sheehan's for any lunches or dinners? We had lunch there once and enjoyed the ruben and the salads. But subsequent experiences weren't as great. Such a shame because it's a beautiful pub/bar with nice views.
  8. Hi Yvonne, we are back home and still smiling from our cruise, which was the first leg of your trip. Loving your perspective and reviews, as well as your pictures! It was such a pleasure to meet you and your father at the meet and greet and I was sorry we couldn't attend the next one. Happy belated birthdays to both of you and enjoy the rest of your trip! I hope we get to sail with you again... PS where are you all headed next? 🙂 Sherry
