  1. Are tickets needed for the ice show?

I was on the week before and they started doing Ice show tickets again. When I went to pick them up they told me it was because of the New cruise director and he liked the idea of tickets. This has been the first time in 3 years I have needed the tickets. Based on the Stack at the table only 1 show was in demand.

  2. Did you disembark a cruise that went to Grand Cayman? Those always seem to move faster. If Roatan is on the route, it's always slower.

Nope it was the Roatan, Costa Maya, Coz route. I will say they had all 14 custom agents working, they said on the ship one day we only had 325 Mexican nationals onboard so that freed up 2 of the Custom lines. We actually were instructed to go to the last lane since no one was in it, which is normally for Non-US residents.

  3. Also the windjammer dinner is getting a lot better. We went twice, Thursday night they had Dungeness Crab Legs and Claws with all the shrimp and mussels you could possibly want. Then on Saturday night they had the unlimited Lobster Tails. Also the desserts they had in there were putting the main dinning room to shame. Crepes every night with toppings. 10 different assortment of mini cakes one night and the next night it was the 10 full size different types of cakes.

  4. Just off Sunday and walked off at 8:00 and through customs in 15 minutes. I went down at 6:45 to get coffee and noticed a line starting to form in Theater. Ship cleared customs at 7:25 and that large group got out quickly. I did not have to wait for an elevator and walked off with no problems. It seems that if people actually follow the directions of going when their floor time is stated in the walk-off sheet things can go smoothly. Its when the mob mentality of me first and I don't have to follow the rules is when the system breaks down. There is a reason they only want 2-3 floors at a time leaving, so not everyone is getting off at once. People will complain about why can't Royal police it, but we as adults should be able to follow directions. This is my 3rd time in the past year to sail and everyone has gone fairly smooth, with this being the best. Of course delayed return cruises always throws a wrench in the equation because most people start to get stir crazy.

  5. I always bring my Bose and in the afternoon place it at the bar and everyone enjoys. I ask and people always tell me what music to play. Nothing vulgar just fun. Nachi is what you make it. Always a good time, but not like Mr Sanchos party pool.

  6. Was at Maya Chan yesterday.

Agree with what has been said. Very relaxing. If interested, book now. They limit the amount of passengers so it fills up fast. Would definitely do it again.

How was the sea weed. It look like a couple of weeks ago it was piled at the waters edge and for the first 10 feet of water. We are booked to go in July.

  7. It's a bit further then 5 miles to west bay. Takes about 30 minutes to get over the mountain. Gas goes for over $5 a gallon on these islands. Taxi are high at all the islands.

  8. We wanted to go to the Blind Wine Tasting in Vintages at 4:00, but I knew from experience it would last quite a while and so we skipped it for the Suite Cocktail Party with the officers at 5:00. Dinner was in Chops for our Anniversary, and it was excellent. For all the complaints about the new Chops menu a couple years ago, the quality of our meal was outstanding. We were a little apprehensive at first because the servers were all hustling and things were slow, but we ended up being very pleased with both the food and the service. Our only "complaint" would be they were out of the wine we wanted, which seems to be an issue ship-wide. In just two short days, we encountered three or four instances of a bar being out of something we ordered. There's either a problem with provisioning back at port or the individual venue managers aren't doing a good job with inventory management.

    MONDAY (FORMAL) MDR MENU:

Those of you who are familiar with Royal Caribbean's menus may notice some subtle changes if you look carefully. The tenderloin on the first formal night is gone, and now a "striploin" is served in its place. The filet is missing from the new Giovanni's menu[emoji22]as are many of the appetizers. There are probably other changes, but those are two that stand out. Since I'm only eating in the MDR once this week I'm not sure what else is different.

Ask nicely when you go to Giovianis and they might just get you the filet. I was on last week and you when I asked since I did not see it, they came back with a "we will see what we can do". A couple of minutes later they came back and said "yes" and put his finger in front of his mouth as to keep it a secret. You should have seen the people face sitting around us when they brought out the filet. Everyone was asking me how I got it, I just shrugged my shoulders and said I guess I was lucky. It goes that you get more flies with honey then vinegar. I was very pleasant as compared to some of the others sitting around me that were huffing about no filet on the menu. Maybe they did not even bother to ask.

  9. I too was on the LOTS thanksgiving sailing and having just been on board in July a lot just seemed a bit off. I would not classify it as a bad cruise just not great. Our July cruise was one of the best ever, but I think 3 out 4 days being cool and the extreme amount wind, which did close the Falmouth port, caused the cruise to have a different feeling. Heck even in Cozumel it was cool with the temp staying in the 70's and water excursions being cancelled in cayman due to 40 knot winds. I won't stop cruising but I think the weather forced more people to expose the limits of the staffing on board.

  10. Agreed. The two pictures posted of Liberty are also decorated differently so I suspect they are from previous years as well unless they put up after we got off this morning. It would be nice if anyone who set sail today could confirm if the tree is up on the Liberty now.

Yes the big tree went up as we were leaving. It was being put up in front of sorrentos Sunday morning it was in about 10 big boxes.

The nursery was empty so we came to the play area in Fuel.

On the way back to our room on deck 8 aft near the elevator there's an interactive piece of art.

May I ask who is the cruise director this week?
