Norwegian dawn family suite no balcony, sizes
RosieRoo replied to tfg's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
As far as I know, they are all the same size, except for the handicapped ones. They are wider to allow more room for wheelchairs/scooters. -
Nooooooooo. I am booked on the Oasis for September, which was a lift and shift from September 2020, which was paid for with a credit from March 2020. I can’t imagine how confusing that’s going to be to sort out if they cancel.

I know this is an old post, but in case you’re still interested, I’m looking at doing just what you wanted. There’s an NCL ship that leaves NYC April 20th, 2023 and arrives in Southampton on May 4th. Then another NCL ship that leaves Barcelona on May 5 and heads back to NYC. So basically a round trip NYC if you do both with just a short flight in between Southampton and Barcelona.

MSC...Has to have the worst Customer Service EVER!
RosieRoo replied to NextStopNRT's topic in MSC Cruises
Similar situation happened to me. I wanted to do a 10 day cruise in the Yacht Club, only two cabins available. If I booked the 3 night and the 7 night separately there were tons of cabins available. Made absolutely no sense to me as it was the same ten day period. Went around and around with MSC and no one could change it and I didn’t want to have to deposit two separate cruises when I could just deposit the one ten day sailing. I eventually just gave up and booked a cruise on another cruise line. -
You might want to check around with some of the bigger cruise agencies. The one I use always has refundable deposits without the up charge, not sure if that is due to group bookings or their relationship with Celebrity.

For experienced transatlantic sailors, I need some advice. 78 cruises, but never a transatlantic. It’s been on my list, just haven’t gotten to it til now. I’m looking at a transatlantic NY to Southampton doing a northern route and a Barcelona to NY sailing doing Spain and Portugal. It just so happens that the first cruise arrives in Southampton May 4th and the second leaves Barcelona May 5th. Is this doable or am I crazy? Is it easy to get from Southampton to Barcelona? I’ve been to both ports so I don’t want to spend extra time on land. Thoughts?

We were in a similar situation long before Covid. Used the same agent for ten+ years. He gave us great pricing and perks and one day he just disappeared. I had several future cruises with him on different lines and had a hard time sorting things out. I even lost a large deposit because final payment wasn’t sent on time. Anyhow, I did finally work with the cruise lines to cancel all my bookings, but lesson learned, I would never book with a one man agency again.

I saw a man fishing off his aft balcony while we were in port.

We had a connecting cabin on Oasis. We could hear when the neighbors used the hair dryer and sometimes we could hear them talking. It was much noisier than we anticipated. I wouldn’t do it again.

I also love Alaska, but I started it a second time, got almost to the end and it blacked out and went back to the beginning. I refuse to watch it a third time. They can keep the points.
