  1. We wore these for the July 10th cruise on Summit. No big deal at all.  Just one small step to start cursing again.  And in case someone does have Covid, will not have to quarantine large groups of folks. But on our cruise zero Covid cases from crew or passengers.  Only problem is they come apart easily.  My wife had to use band aids to keep it together by the end of the cruise.

But again we’ll worth it in my opinion.

Thanks very much Chuck!  I probably would try it, but my DH agreed to the Summit only if we got a sunset veranda. We are used to the Solstice ships & he has been reluctant to try the Summit because of her age. Believe me, I’ve had him read your wonderful comments about the ship! We miss cruising so much & can’t wait! Thanks again & hope you are planning your next cruise!

We were on the same cruise, and had the corner Family Veranda stateroom (with view of side and back of ship on large balcony).  And it was incredible.  We had previously only cruised on the Equinox,  but the Summit was very comparable.  It was a fantastic cruise.

  3. We just returned from the July 10th cruise.

Airport was truly a madhouse. The check-in line moved so slowly that people were waiting outside for hours.  I believe most flights were delayed.  My flight was 90 minutes or so delayed.  Which was good, as we did not finally check in until after flight time after arriving 2 1/2 hours early.

we did speak with someone at the airport, and they said Saturday is the busiest.

Hope your children will be okay.   How many unvaccinated adults are on board and are they subject to the same restrictions?    I thought everyone had to be vaccinated and also tested.   In Maryland, vaccines for the 12 and over have been available since late May so most had them in time for camps and summer travel.    The Delta variant is especially hard on children.

I believe Celebrity is requiring 12+ to be vaccinated as of August 1st.

  5. We just got off the summit, and we were drinking flavored vodkas.  I saw some Absoltr flavors like Raspberry, but not pear.  But did see Grey Goose pear. Which I would recommend.

Did anyone in your group get the Walgreens ID Now Covid test?  If so, any issues flying with it or getting on the cruise? And is it considered a PCR or antigen test? Have a great cruise.

I just got back from the July 10th cruise.  And we took multiple tests.  We used Walgreens Rapid ID for the EHAS to get into St. Maarten.  We used CVS PCR -RT to get on the cruise.  Was less stressful to get EHAS approval earlier. CVS test came in just in time, which was a bit stressful.

It’s day three on board the Summit, and my mind is blown at the level of service we’re receiving.   This cruise has almost 400 passengers, so there are more crew (700+ from 60 countries) than guests!  We were greeted with thunderous applause, taken on-board 4 at a time. Everything was so smooth in St. Maarten, the crew are overjoyed to see passengers on board.

On the first night we attended a show and there was a presentation “We are back!” with videos from Celebrity employees all over the world.  The theatre went nuts with applause and the Captain was emotional on stage, and he’s not the only one.  From boarding to speaking with crew,   you just want to burst into tears as you realize that cruising is something in your heart, and the crew aboard any vessel is like your family.   Other passengers were also holding back tears during embarkation… it was just like a huge family reunion.

With barely 400 people, everyone is getting to know each other and the vibe is super happy and chill, so much more social than any cruise I’ve ever been on.   Everyone is so excited to be experiencing what we’ve missed so much for 15 months.

The crew are all wearing masks still, but the guests are not.  The theatre and casino have socially distanced protocols in place, and the buffet of course is point and get served.  Other than that, almost everything is the same.   Had an amazing Thai massage yesterday, and was so released, had difficulty finding my way back to our stateroom.

We are booked in a Sky Suite, so the experience is enhanced of course.  The Captains Club is competing for our attention though, as we’re getting many invitations for parties and events.  Talk about being treated like a celebrity.   Last night our bed was adorned with gifts and beach towels for our first port.   Just a beautiful and amazing experience overall.   I will never forget this voyage.

Not the same ship but we had 8353 3 times on Silhouette. We absolutely loved this cabin and SV cabins in general.

Our favourite cabins by far on any cruise ship or cruise line.

If I remember rightly there are some bigger SV cabins re balcony space so check out SV views to see which ones are the largest.

Having said that, ours was one of the smaller ones  but small was beautiful !

Just be prepared not to have much shade and others can look down on you if you stand forward at the rail. That did not bother us at all.

I think they have Concierge class SV cabins on deck 9

    :-)

    Thanks for the great feedback.
