  1. We have been busy with too much going on at home--life goes on.  In the meantime, I realize I have not been getting any notifications from cruise critic. So, I decided I'd better check out the excursions, and 90+% are all sold out. Very disappointing. If anyone knows of any private excursions they have room for, please advise. Since I am not getting notifications, please send any information to johonew, my husband.

    Thank. you!

  2. I'm confused. We are supposed to give them our financial planner sign on and password information in order to redeem this?  I guess that is too much information my husband is willing to share.  Anyone else find this unusual?

  3. We have booked our flights through EZAir.  We fly from Atlanta to Ft. Lauderdale on Delta, and able to choose seats.  The return flight is from London back to Atlanta on American.  I have a lap top and smart phone, and not able to get seats at all on either.  This is the message:  "Seat map is not available, please contact the airline directly to assign seats."  I tried putting in our Advantage numbers, and the locator number on American's site and that didn't work either. I figured it was because final payment has not been made yet.  So, for you folks that have been able to do it, I wish I knew the secret.

  4. I was not amused to read that the Governor of Ohio has already told the majority of state employees to continue to work from home until January 4, 2021.  That is so nice that none of them have to be concerned about losing their jobs.  How about all the hundreds of businesses that have been closed, and will never re-open?  So, keep your state closed down.  We are booked on a cruise to Antartica to sail on January  5, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

  5. I believe they are overwhelmed with refund requests.  Of course, many people are opting for the FCC, which if you can afford to do that, is the best option.  I was told they were starting with the earliest cruises first.  However, it would be a minimum of 60 days before refunds would be issued.  I have a friend that was supposed to be on a Norwegian cruise in early May, and they were told 90 days for a refund.

  6. Normally, they are in the patter, and we haven't seen it.   We are finishing a Med cruise, and will continue on the Trans-Atlantic back to Ft. Lauderdale.  So, it isn't a short cruise, a total of 25 days.  I asked at Guest Services, and there were 3 people there, and none of them knew anything about it.  I think I will check with the Maitre-D to find out if they will do it on the second leg of the trip.  Thanks for the input.

  7. We took a break from Princess and did a few other lines this past year (river and expedition)  My husband always enjoyed the Pub Lunch they had at least once during the cruise.  We are currently on the Emerald, and when I asked about it, they looked at me like they never heard of it.  One lady said "maybe on the British Isles" cruise.  We just had it last year on the Regal trans-atlantic.

Also, no more tea on port days, only sea days.  Two of the things we enjoyed are gone.  Disappointing.

  8. Reading this is very disappointing to me.  Unacceptable to tell you so late about having to vacate your room.  I know they have no control over the satellite, but I need wi-fi to check on work related matters.  We have had more issues with our upcoming cruise, than any other line in the past.  I'm just hoping the scenery in Iceland and Greenland will be worth it.  It may be our first and only cruise with them.

  9. If you don't plan to go back to Alaska, I would suggest you do a cruise and land tour.  Denali National Park is a must see.  So, if you do a B2B, you'll want to go again to see more of the land.  (at least that is my opinion)

  10. I would think that people may have already flown to Norway for the departure on Thursday, June 27. (at least we always go in a day or two beforehand.  If they weren't sailing, I would think that they would have notified them by now.  However, this will be our first Hurtigruten cruise, so I really don't know what the "normal" is to expect.

  11. We are elite with Princess, but it is all about the itinerary and who we are sailing with.  We have two cruises lined up for later this year on Princess, with a try on Hurtigruten in the mean time.  We recently returned from a HAL South America and Antarctica sailing.  We went with another couple and had a fabulous time.  Of course, the entire passage was smooth, and the scenery was outstanding.  We had previously done a 7-night cruise on Holland and weren't thrilled.  This time, a totally different cruise.  If we are sailing with our granddaughter and family, Carnival is fantastic.  We tried the Oasis of the Seas a few years back, and my husband felt like we were in a mall.  He missed the motion of the ocean.  Bottom line, we love to cruise and I can't say we've ever had a bad one.  My brother loves Celebrity, but we haven't even tried them yet.
