Aysy is going on vacation and will be leaving the Explorer until Oct. 30. I don't know who her replacement is, though.

That was fun! 😊 Thank you for sharing that with us.

Aysy Sadrislamova posted on Instagram that she is on vacation. I don't know who is replacing her on Explorer or for how long.

We've been to Naples before and went to Pompei, so looking for something different this time. We're not interested in a guided tour, just on our own. The ship is in Naples from 7 am to 6 pm. Here's my plan... Let me know if this sounds doable. Get off the ship ASAP, walk to ferry dock and purchase a round trip ticket to Capri. Walk around Capri. I need ideas what to do there. Ferry back to Naples and walk to Pizzeria Donna Sofia for authentic Pizza. Then is there any other can't miss things in Naples city? Tunnels? Then back on the ship.
Ideas? Thoughts?
Thank you in advance for your input.

What were the cast members tossing to the crowd, you can see that it is something that flickers?? Maybe reflecting the stage lights, they tossed a bunch of them. I might not have ever thought of attending this but having seen your videos its now on my list of things I'd most enjoy- so grateful for all you've been sharing.
During the 70s Dance Party in the Jewel of the Seas they tossed out flashing rings you could wear. Probably the same.

Did the balcony have 2 loungers?
Yes! 2 loungers, 2 chairs and a small table

We are no longer on the ship. My husband had a fall this morning and we are at the hospital in Portland, ME. We will not be returning to the cruise. Thank you all for following along. Hope to see you again soon.
I'm so sorry! Praying for a quick recovery. So sad to end a vacation that way.

Honest question here: After looking at the videos of that type of cabin, what would happen if you jumped off your balcony to hang out on the deck on the other side? I realize there are no chairs out there, but could you just go look at the view? Would the crew come and reprimand you?

We had 8168 on the Jewel in March and absolutely loved it. I haven't seen the others, so couldn't compare. The view was great and we had plenty of space.

So which drinks are single punch and which drinks are two punches? (Sounds funny I know! LOL)
Theoretically, (on some ships) the punches correspond to the shots of espresso in the drink. Also, iced drinks are 2 punches.

It is enclosed, therefore it gets a little stuffy on warm days. I enjoyed it, but my husband liked the open decks better. I believe there is one hot tub. I also enjoyed the sandwiches and snacks in there.

Was Aysy your Cruise Director? She was the CD on the Jewel when we sailed last March. I really liked her style.

Whoa! Those pictures are so cool!
This itinerary is certainly on my bucket list.

Heads up: Aysy (Aysylu) Sadrislamova left the Navigator today. She says she will be going on vacation, then will be going to Adventure, but I don't know the timing for that.

You can ask your cabin steward for it. They can bring it to you twice a day if you prefer. We kept ours in the cooler (not really a fridge) and it kept our drinks that were in there cold and the ice lasted longer.

Yes, you can use the punch card for Chai Tea Lattes.

What we did was bring on a 12-pack of soda and ordered bottled water to be delivered to the cabin.

Our experience with MTD on the Jewel a couple of weeks ago:
I had reserved 6:45 pm every night since that was the earliest time. We tried just showing up earlier, but they said to come back. We ended up liking the table (by a window) so we asked to be seated there every night and we either got the window seat or the one next to it. Although I thought 6:45 pm would be a bit too late since we usually eat dinner earlier at home, it turned out just fine. We only had a long line to wait in 2 nights, but the line moved quickly.
