My son was suppose to get married married May 15th, they rescheduled for August 14th, I am still holding my breath. My grandson will miss his high school graduation. There will be a car drive by graduation celebration on June 13th. I have my signs already but its so much not the same.

Another niece graduated from college.  No plans to hold any kind of ceremony, even in the future.  It's sad for any of these graduating seniors, high school or college.  They will never get that back.

@OHCruisin do I remember correctly that you have a niece getting married soon? Any word on whether or not that’s going to happen? My niece has her wedding planned for October but we are basically in a holding pattern right now. My sister still wants to have her bridal shower in July as planned but I think it’s way too soon to even think about that.

You remember correctly.  She was supposed to get married June 20 and the reception was at the zoo.  They had to cancel and couldn't replace it.  So, they are still getting married that day, but just with parents and sibs.  They have rescheduled the shower and reception for later in the year, July and September respectively.  I'm sad for her because she couldn't get the zoo again. They got engaged there and it would have been neat.  Honestly, she's only concerned about fitting in her dress!  Honeymoon in Italy I think has been moved to next summer.

A little good news on my side.  I work for the state as a sales tax auditor and know some other people that handle tax problems within the department.  There's a guy that lives behind me in a four family flat that is running an automotive repair business out of his apartment.  He parks cars behind my house in the alley which makes it difficult to impossible for me to get out of my garage.  I'm currently blocked in by him and have been for since earlier this morning.

I talked to his landlord the other day but the cars haven't moved and according to the landlord, he isn't returning calls.  When talking to the landlord, this guy's upstairs neighbor told me he's been switching plates on cars.  I emailed a friend of mine that handles the car dealers and asked him if that was something they handled.  It is so I sent him the details.

Kind of malicious compliance but I'm over it.   I had already called the police non-emergency line but they haven't shown up yet.

I would have them towed.  They're blocking your egress.

  4. I have read a couple of stories about the crew still being stuck on board, but they are few and far between.  Most stories are about what petrie dishes cruises are.  You know, the usual.  I know Royal has agreed to the CDC's over-cautious requirements to get their crew off.  Even the Americans, stuck in the American ports aren't able to get off.  It's heartbreaking.

My mom works as a receptionist at a nursing home. They thankfully don't have any cases, however they are having the hardest time getting the traveling doctors/nurses/therapists/etc...to cooperate with their policies. My mom was reported to their corporate office because she woudn't let a hospice worker in who had a temperature (she needs to take their temps before they enter).  It's ridiculous.

Why on earth would the hospice worker think it's acceptable to enter a nursing home while running a fever??!!!  Even if not covid, it's something.  Boggles the mind.

Yeah, good luck with that. There's no way they have the people power to track those all down, and you know what? They should not. It said it was for people that filed 2018-2019 taxes so tough luck IRS.

    I agree 100%.

I will post my review after we finally get to sample it tonight! Yee HAW (and oink oink).

Please do!  Since I'm not in Miami right now, leaving on a cruise tomorrow like I was supposed to, I figure to drown my sorrows in Tito's and cheesecake🙂

The test results came in overnight and I’m so happy that the results are NEGATIVE for corona virus! I’m also feeling much better today, the best I’ve felt in a week. Thank you so much everyone for all your kind words and well wishes. This is such a great group of virtual friends (I haven’t even told my family the results yet, came here first to tell all of you). 💖💖

    Fantastic news!

I’ve been sick since Friday and haven’t been to work this week at all. I think in my entire life I’ve never even taken one sick day, but this has knocked me for a loop. It started with entire body aches and freezing cold all the time.  Then came the fever and cough.  I was determined I was going to beat this.....until yesterday when I woke up with back pain and a headache and the worst part....shortness of breath.  I have never experienced shortness of breath so I knew something wasn’t right. Since I work for a pulmonary doctor, I had her refer me for COVID testing.  Well I just got back from the testing, so now I wait and see if I become a statistic or if I can go back to work next week. By the way, that nasal swab for the testing.....whoa.

Oh no, blarko!  That does not sound good at all.  If you test positive, I hope the only statistic you become is that you recovered fully!  Prayers for you.

  10. I just read that the IRS has added a form to their website to allow you to upload your bank info for direct deposit of the stimulus check.  Supposed to be faster, though as you can imagine, the demand is already causing slow downs!

Mine was deposited overnight as well.  Wish I could book a cruise with it but I’m afraid to plan ANYTHING at this stage of the game. We are concerned that my niece’s wedding scheduled for October may not even be able to happen.

Mine hit last night as well.

My niece is getting married in June...maybe!  She's already had to change the date of her bridal shower.  We're not sure that's going to happen either.
