  1. Yes, we attended it a couple of weeks ago and since we had previously already booked our agent was able to get to extra perks for all of us that were offered to those that book that night or week. So that was well worth our attendance. Come next summer on the Oosterdam July 22. That is when our group will be going.

  2. Booked on Holland next summer July 22 for the cruise tour Fairbanks to Vancouver-based on the itinerary. And we go to Glacier Bay. We are certainly looking forward to our trip! Check out Holland Oosterdam.

  3. Doing the cruise tour next summer on Holland. I have booked excursions for our group of 10 privately with companies after a lot of research.

Juneau--Harv and Marv whale watch, Skagway--Trails of 98 private 7 hour tour up the Klondike highway all the way to Emerald Lake and in Ketchikan we are plan to walk around and explore town on our own. Looking forward to our trip in July, hope this helps.

  4. We will have 2 nights in Denali, any recommendations of possible night time excursions to do or places to eat near the Mt. Mckinely Chalet? And we disembark in Vancouver and staying an extra 2 nights, looking for an affordable hotel in the downtown area so we can explore the city. Any recommendations? Thanks

  5. Well we have chosen Holland for next July. Do a cruise tour if you can. I figure that if I am traveling that far, I might as well do and see as much as we can. We are doing a 12 day tour. We chose Holland because of the itinerary. We are going to a Holland presentation at our travel agency to get more information even though we are already booked. Looking forward to our trip and we will make our own judgment of the cruise line when we are done with the trip.

  6. I have done a lot of planning for a group of 10 for next July. After all of the research we decided to travel on Holland America on the Oosterdam. The itinerary is what sold me on that choice. We are doing to cruise tour beginning in Fairbanks for the land portion and then cruise out of Seward and finish in Vancouver. We are arriving a day earlier so we will have an extra day in Fairbanks and staying extra nights in Vancouver. Our ports of call will Juneau, Skagway and Ketchican. I already have excursions privately booked at two of the ports and the other we are going to explore the town. The cruise will take us to Glacier national park and down the inside passage. We are looking forward to our trip!

  7. Thanks for the good review, makes me feel at ease. We will be on the Oosterdam next summer. My question is what is the big deal about eating at other restaurants on board the ship where you need reservations and have to pay more money just to eat there? I feel I have paid so much money for this trip to begin with, I have no desire to have to spend more once on board just to eat. That is my personal choice and opinion.

  8. We are cruising next summer on Holland. After doing lots of research and reading reviews here are the excursions we have booked. In Juneau--Harv and Marv whale watching, Skagway--Tours of 98 drive up the Klondike highway all the way to Emerald Lake and in Ketchikan explore the town on our own. Check these out to see if they interest you. These excursions will allow us to experience and see a lot of Alaska. Hope this helps.

  9. We are doing a cruise tour next July on Holland. This past summer after a lot of research and reading reviews we are booked already for excursions. In Juneau we are booked with Harv and Marv and in Skagway we are booked with Trails of 98 tour. I booked these with private companies not through the ship. In Ketchikan we are just going to explore the town on our own. Now I can be rest assured that we will be doing great excursions!

  10. Next summer we are arriving day early to tour Fairbanks. It has been highly recommended to me to go to the Museum of the North at the University of Alaska and to just walk along the river front. So that is the plan, if time we may go to the cultural center. Read up on both places and see which one interests your group.

  11. Thanks for the fabulous review. We are on the Oosterdam next summer in July. After reading about your trip I know for sure that I have booked a great trip ahead. My excursions are booked for Juneau and Skagway, in Ketchikan we plan to explore the town. Thanks again, glad you had such a wonderful trip!

  12. I have a friend who just returned from an Alaskan cruise. She advised me to take a rain coat/umbrella. She kept them in a back pack when not needed. She said carrying a back pack was the best thing she did.

  13. We are booked on the Oosterdam next summer. We will be located on the Verandah deck 5 mid ship. This decks above and below are cabin decks so in reviews it said this was a good and quiet deck to select. We do have a balcony. I was going to pick a cabin with just a window but did not like the locations of those cabins. Good luck in your selection.

  14. Check out Trails of 98 Skagway tours. http://www.tntours98.com/ After lots of research and reading reviews we have booked our party of 8 with them for next summer already. They seem to have fantastic reviews! It seems like a great way to see a lot of the area. Hope this helps you with your decision!

  15. Why not consider coming July 22 cruise tour on the 12 day on Holland. Check out the itinerary D5L. We have booked for next summer through AAA. I also have fantastic excursions already booked for 2 of the ports. I know it is a year away but we are excited about our first trip to Alaska.

  16. We have booked for a group of 8 on Holland V5L 12 day for next summer, actually beginning July 22. We are coming a day or two earlier to Fairbanks and then staying 2 days in Vancouver. I chose this particular cruise line because of the itinerary, this line includes Glacier National Park and the inside passage. Good luck with you decision.

  17. As far as the Lumber Jack show, read reviews and then make a family decision. I think they would like the duck tour, I would even like that myself. We may do that while we are there, but we are spending so much money on the other two excursions we may just walk on our own here to explore the town. You will have a great time with whatever you decide to do!!!
