  1. There is a dancing group on the Sky Princess on January 24th.  If you google dancing at sea, you will find the contact John Ranivand . He was prompt to give me a quote . You might inquire about perhaps  other cruises like this.  It includes lots of dance opportunities, parties, lessons.
    So google dancing at sea.

    www.dancingatsea.com

Not to be confused, but there is another group called Dancers at Sea. I had actually booked this cruise for New Years eve , also on Princess but ended up canceling guven the current situation with covid.  So google  dancers at sea.

hope to meet you dancing soon

What is the email to send the request to get FCC refunded in cash?

The letter I have says “if a guest does not use his fcc and wants a refund thereafter

of the original base fare paid between June 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021” guest can request HA to “exchange”  the fcc for a refund of their base cruise fare. Requests being accepted via email to:

    guestrelations@hollandamerica.com

We sent an email to HAL Customer Relations asking for a refund for our FCCs....got an answer today that our request had been forwarded to the appropriate division -- it could take  60-90 days.....that's fine with us since who knows when cruising will be safe again.

I also sent  a letter to the email they referenced asking for a refund on my fccs a few days ago.  Did it take a long time to acknowledge your request? I don’t want my request to be “lost in the shuffle”.

  4. I have received 2 future cruise credits for canceled cruises.  Life circumstances change, and I

know that I will not be able to book a future cruise within the specified date or  possibly cruise in the near future due to health issues with my husband. Am i out of luck for a refund since these have been issued.

Sorry I haven't been on the boards for a bit (no cruises since 2018), but did we lose reciprocal status benefits?  I used to be Elite (Diamond on EC) and now when I log in to CC it says I am Classic with only 95 points.  The points are correct but I had Elite status on my last Celebrity cruise.

I was poking around my account yesterday and also saw it said select and not elite.  We are diamond + with rccl . I called Celebrity and asked if I had been demoted for some reason. She checked, still  elite and she could not explain why it said what it did.

  6. I would try a socially distant cruise. Like others said maybe ships will not sail at full capacity. What if the number they decided to cruise with, you then had your own theater chairs, pool chairs, dining table reserved for you.

Time will tell. I am anxiously awaiting the first ship to cruise and hear what people report back before I book.  I don’t need any more fcc’s.

If anyone says " I want to stay safe" ONE.MORE.TIME..😒

Well, I guess we could go back to the “have a nice day” .. I don’t know.... I am living a movie I would never watch.

Couldn't find garden gloves, wet ones, wet wipes.  I scored diaper wipes which I have made  my own wet wipes. So how about “stay positive”.

“In addition, we want to make sure you have ample time to use this credit, so we have updated the terms and conditions accordingly. Your FCC is now valid for 12 months from the date of this notification and may be used to book sailings departing through December 31, 2022.”

This was in my email. Did I misunderstand? I thought we had until 12-31-21 to book using the FCC or request a refund. According to this I only have until May 7, 2021 to book. Just curious if anyone kept a copy...I can’t find that I did...thought I had copies of everything!

I checked my paperwork and didn’t see what you are referring to.  Could be. Lot if stuff in the beginning.

I do think what they sent as an FCC confirmation is pretty bad,... no booking number,  ( I am waiting for my April 5th) , so the only way to identify one booking from another is the dollar amount.  I would have liked them to put a date at the heading also since it is date sensitive.

After submitting the form did you receive an email saying it went through?  I received your preference has been successfully submitted but nothing in my email proving it went though. Thanks

That was the only acknowledgment I received.  On a good note, I received my FCC  today and that did come via email. That was for my 3/29/2029 cruise. Still waiting for the 4/5/2020 cruise.  I have not received refund of taxes for either yet.... so, baby steps.

When I wanted the transfer form I emailed World_Cruise_Reservations@hollandamerica.com and they replied in a few hours, I then filled out the form and replied to the same email. I think the total time from start to completed transfer was 3 days. That was when the world was normal and the cruise-lines weren't overwhelmed.

    Thanks

    Alan

So, to everyone that has responded thank you. I thought I would update. My travel agent called yesterday.  Of course I was driving and did not have my focus on the cruises. She said that she spoke with Holland America and told them to cancel. She said that it Is being done by departure date, and in a few weeks I will see the credit.

Go home, tell husband the good news. He says can she put that in writing.
I told him no I feel confident this will happen.

Please tell me to relax . I have received no accounting from the travel agent, my reservations are still on my account, no cancellation number.

I have never been in this situation where I had Fcc’s for canceling and future cruises.
Should I take a chill pill or am I not being forceful enough.

my cruises were for 3/29 and 4/5 th.

    thank you in advance

Thank you.  I just don’t want to rush to judgement.  The industry is overwhelmed, but so am I. I don't appreciate not receiving even a quick email that I am in the line to be serviced. I will wait until Monday and then call HAL and see if We can try the office and get a manager to answer with HAl on the line.
    thank you. Cindy

The form allows for transfer from agent to direct

You should be able to do it. I will have to look up the email. I can't find it. It's something like worldcruises@ hollandamerica.com but you would need to confirm that

Thank you...I see agency to direct.  I’m hoping that my travel agent is just overwhelmed and will get back to me soon. I called on Monday to cancel two cruises I have booked for 3/29 & 4/5.  I have had no call yet.  I was able to get through to HAL in 8 minutes yesterday and I told them that I wanted to cancel with the 72 hr policy, and what should I do if the agent does not get back back to me.  She said call us back and we can call with you.  I do have the medical compassion for cancel anytime as referenced in the letter. My husband is getting his last immunotherapy on Monday, which of course the dr says these cruises that were a celebration of getting this behind us, is now dr. a deal breaker with the corona virus.

HAL's forms will only tell you how to transfer a HAL booking to a travel agent.  I assume you already did that and you want to transfer it back to HAL.   That type of transfer would have to initiated by your TA because they now own the booking and HAL takes a hands-off approach.  You will have to convince your TA to give up the commission that HAL would be paying them.  TA's occasionally put up a fight about these re-transfers and start asking for a fee to compensate them for any work they have done on your behalf.

Thank you.  Hopefully my issue will be resolved by T A or by just including HAL on the call.

Thank you so much for this information. We are scheduled to go on 3/29 th &4/5th

cruises.  A celebration of my husband’s completion of immunotherapy, which at the time we booked seemed like a great idea for him to have something to look forward to. We see the dr. on Friday and see if she thinks this trip is still ok.

Thank you again.  And good wishes to everyone who choose to travel on and those who have decisions to make.

  15. I have had no luck getting through.... Has anyone been able to get through to HAL regarding the compassion policy and what form and or supporting documentation from your doctor is required and the procedure.  Thanks in advance for sharing.

  16. I wish the buffets would be employee served like in Oceania...it works.

I wish they would put up a sign that says sit down and eat... seriously, I can’t stand the people who “nibble” through the buffet.  There was a lady who had an ear of corn she was eating and walking around the buffet...no plate, just walking and eating.  Don’t  know where she ditched the ear.

The location of the room is forward, port side. It is above the very back of the Show Lounge and the room does get some base reverberation from music during the shows and practices – noticeable but not earthshaking. It doesn’t get any noise from the BB Kings performances or the even later hours DJ music in the Queen’s Lounge.

4032 is a little further back from the stage, so it might be a bit better.

Thank you. It looks cozy too. Maybe we will get an upsell offer.
