I don't think it is wattage that directly concerns them, it is the opportunity to start a fire if left unattended. Hair dryers are obvious things that make noise when powered so usually don't have a cutoff timer, but I'm hoping (!) most curling irons and hair straighteners have a cutoff timer.
Coffee pots are all over the place on this.
It could also be the propensity to make a mess increases with coffee pots, so Carnival bans them for that reason too.
Good point well taken.

A one cup coffee pot uses a lot less wattage then a blow dryer or flat iron.

Thanks for the replies. They just pulled out and are sailing down the Hudson.

The Getaway is still at the pier in NY. Anyone hear why she didn't sail yet.

No matter how when or why he's one lucky fellow.
I wonder what he thought watching the ship sail away.

Some people can float for hours. I can't float at all and sink like a rock. I'd love to hear his story.

Yes she can request you as a guest, when we sailed it was $50 per guest, but recently I believe the cost has risen. I made the request through the concierge, but she might also be able to make the request through the maitre 'd at the restaurant.
Thank you Mtrancher.

Thank you Sthrngary for all the great info. I didn't read every post, I skipped through many pages. Maybe someone can answer my question. My Daughter is sailing on the Getaway in a haven suite. If i'm sailing in a balcony can they have me as a guest for dinner in the haven restaurant?

Yes the beggars!
Last time they charged $1 for the cards at guest services. Used to be free from the casino.
I remember it being the opposite. High quality used cards in the casino with a hole punched through for $1.00. Cards with Carnival logo free at GS.

My Condolences to all that sailed her. I guess its like losing an old friend. I found out many years after they scrapped the Mardi Gras. I think only IBM had computers back then. My Dad went to two Decommissionings of ships he was on and the U.S. Navy had a big ceremony. It seems so cheap to run it into the beach. I did that with my boat many times back in the mid to late. 70's

Perhaps you can try gift wrapping the box with a card in a checked bag.

Mega ships with 4,000 + pax is part of the problem. I like smaller ships. I also check to see how many ships will be in port.

For anyone that has not been to Freeport for many years, They spent a lot of $$$ to make it a Welcoming port. First time there I thought it was a dump. Last time we were there I thought it was much better then Nassau. I like the new Freeport.

Maybe pier 90 will get a facelift like pier 88.

Tell your table mates and the head waiter the night before that you will be at another dinning venue.

Last week I took my gf to the serenity deck on the breeze late at night and got on one knee.
She said yes.
I was going to make a production of it but the private option was more her style.

How about he orders a cake for desert and has the wait staff sing happy engagement to you. My future Son IL proposed to my DD under the Verranzano bridge on the Breakaway last year. Just the two of them..
PS then we booked it. Now we don't have to pay for their cruise's anymore.

The cashier at the casino is like a bank. You could change big bills to smaller or withdraw $$ on your sail and sign account [s&s]. The guest service desk also changes bills but lines could be long during the day.
PS. The only thing you need cash for on the ship is for tips, everything goes on the S&S. Cash is best in ports cause some ports can be a bit shady with CC's.

Tea is 3:00 on a Sea day, in whichever dining room also does Sea day brunch (we do brunch at 11:00am which leaves time for tea at 3:00pm. Don’t miss either one!!!!
You wrote what I was thinking. On our last Miracle cruise we had a table right at the aft window for Tea time. It was a little rough that day and we could see the white water swells. It was awesome. Brunch is also great after a night of partying.

I have a question for anyone that has sailed on the Miracle. Do you know the name of the woman on every elevator door, holding the open book? She seems to be around the ship other places as well, but she is definitely on all the elevators.
Don't know her name but we loved the Miracle. I bet Mr. Farcus liked to party.

We always put two on the outside and one unfolded on top of the clothes with my wife's biz. card stapled to it. We had a handle break off once good thing we had two on the outside.

I believe that the cruise from PC to NY is a crew only cruise. I don't recall what ship it was, but they did that a few years ago for repairs, cleaning ect. Maybe a break for the crew too.
