  1. It does seem odd to pay $65 a day for classic alcohol package when you really don't drink alcohol. The premium non-alcoholic package would have been better at $22 a day plus gratuity.

I would push the issue with the purser or Beverage Manager. Maybe they'll at least agree to change you to the premium non-alcoholic package instead. You might not get a refund but at least you won't have to pay for the coffee drinks you want.

Or pay more to upgrade to premium alcohol and start drinking!

  2. The Classic Bev Package was $55/pp/pd, the Premium Bev Package was $65/pp/pd.

They increased the Premium to $69/pp/pd and the Classic was retained at $55/pp/pd.

    The upgrade cost was $10/pp/pd that’s an increase of $14/pp/pd - again that’s 40%.

    Get your facts correct !

I'm saying we're both correct but it's because the full package went up 6%. Again, you're getting more anyway (up to $2 more per drink). So drink two $15 glasses of wine a day, then you won't be so upset over math.

  3. I remember it well, they increased the package upgrade by 40% and for a short time offered a 20% discount, they called it a sale.

All the previous and post sales events have never included the classic to premier package upgrade. It was a one off to soften their rather ridiculous 40% price rise when inflation has been running at less than 3%, how do they justify it to their loyal patrons?

It's really that they increased the premium package by $4 from $65 to $69. That's a 6% increase.

But they also raised the limit on drinks covered from $13 to $15. that's a 15% increase to our benefit. Now fully covers some wines and world class bar drinks that I used to pay a couple extra dollars for.

  4. Dear Sir

We have undertaken your celebrity infinity Alaska cruise from 29th July 2018 to 5th Aug 2018 in State room 8102. I have settled your final bill 459.28 USD by Card payment duly debiting on my account on 7/8/2018. But you have raised repeated 4 bills

    1. 3/8/2018 for 158USD

    2.3/8/2018 for 19.60 USD

    3. 4/8/2018 for 60 USD

    4. 5/8/2018 for 38.25 USD

and these amounts have been kept UNDER HOLD TRANSACTIONS DEBITING on my Account.

I am totally disappointed over this that too by Celebrity, a highly professional organisation. This has wiped out my very high impression of the Excellent Cruise I had. Please advise immediately the card people to release these amounts and credit to my balance as I am still touring Abroad and I should not be put into inconveinence.

I sincerely, hope that Celebrity will realise the seriousness of the situation and do needful immediately.

    Regards, Nandagopal.

Why are you posting this here instead of contacting Celebrity?

By the way, credit card holds usually go away after a week or two.

  5. My experience has been that prices go up as you get closer to the sailing date and on board. I usually print out the excursion brochure 6+ months in advance and then again 2 or 3 months before the cruise. I've noticed many instances where the prices went up. Even noticed the prices higher on board than what I printed out a only a month before. And I'm not talking small increases. Sometimes $20 or more on tours around $100. Only once did I see a price go down from what I printed out before getting on a ship; by a few dollars.

So now if there's a "sale" and I have OBC, I'll book something I'm interested in. Can always cancel or change it before 24 hours in advance.

  6. Am I looking at the correct photos for X ? Those pics definitely don’t look like the usual X clientele . From the description, ‘The nightlife here is full of engaging moments you’ll be talking about for days after—or maybe you’d prefer to keep them to yourself’, all that is needed in The Club is a ‘madam’!
Maybe the big show is going to be Logan's Run. (lets see who gets that reference)

  7. How is that possible? Especially for metal products?
You'd have to watch it. They did say that metal is good to recycle because the value is more than the cost of recycling it. For paper, it was that it costs more to recycle than using virgin pulp and since the paper industry actually replants whole forests to turn into more paper in the future, it's a renewable resource and an industry that wants more trees to grow. For plastic, there's almost no value in selling recycled plastic, costs alot to collect, transport, sort and process it. And uses alot of energy to do all that which is bad for the environment. Plus they said 40% of recycling ends up just being thrown in with regular trash in the end.

Personally I recycle cans, glass and plastic but when I first saw this thread, the first thing I thought about was that Penn and Teller show that says the only true value recycling has is to make people feel good. I thought Celebrity did a great job with recycling and doesn't have to collect and transport it like municipalities. So to me, changing to cartons is just trying to make people feel good without really helping. And I'm a left-wing liberal.

I'm still stuck on that cap. Will that plastic cap get recycled? If it just gets thrown out with the rest of the carton, isn't that worse than throwing a fully plastic bottle (with cap) in the recycling bin?

  8. Penn and Teller did a BS Show using tap water. They filled all bottles with tap water and asked people to sample and rate the different bottles. As expected they would choose the one labled tap water as the worse and undrinkable but rated the others as would buy with some better than the others. When told the truth many were very angry about being made fools of and feeling that they were insulted.

    Happy cruising [emoji305][emoji568][emoji631][emoji560]

They also did one that explains how recycling is actually worse than throwing everything away.

  9. That plastic cap and the surrounding housing looks like it's much more plastic than the half liter plastic bottles. Note that about a decade or so ago most plastic water bottles became less rigid and the cap became half the size. That was their effort to cut the total plastic use. If that cap isn't any type of biodegradable material, it looks like just as much plastic as a regular plastic bottle with cap. At least that's how it looks to me.

  10. In June on Reflection, the app was pretty bad for menus. 3 of us had completely different menus on our apps for the same restaurant and day. All using Samsung phones and all running the same version of the app. No one could explain it and it happened several days. Usually one of us had the correct menu, but we never knew which one until we got to the restaurant.
