  1. Yeah we have no intention on leaving the ship and going onshore to India. My mum is elderly and cant walk the distances and no tours offer anything that doesnt require walking distances or uneven ground. Also her Dr highly recommended not to visit India.

True I will write to RC and get it in writing and print it out and take it with us.

just thought i'd let eveyone know that this is a new rule change that has come into effect

My son-in-law is from India. His parents wanted to take their son, my daughter and our granddaughter (she is 8 months) to India to visit relatives. Their family doctor advised against it until she has all her shots since they still have polio and other diseases still active there.

  2. My husband and I went to the character breakfast last April on the Allure. We wanted to have our picture taken with the characters to send home to our grandchildren. We were the last ones to have our picture taken because the characters took pictures with all the children first.

I think RCCL should open up more space for the character breakfasts and have more characters during that time. Face painting is not something that I am interested in doing. If we went on a Disney cruise, we would be allowed to do all the activities there.

  3. My husband fell in a hole in the middle of the street in San Juan. Luckily, he did not break the framed picture that we had. He could not go in the ocean at Labadee because his knees were skinned. We had banages and lotion but got ice from the clinic. The next day we got a knee brace.

I lost the diamond in my ring too. We were at an event in a hotel. We were getting dressed when I looked at my hand and realized my diamond was gone. After checking the floor, I checked my pocket and there is was.

My friend was shoveling snow when she noticed that the diamond in her earring was gone. She checked the house then went back outside and found it where she had been shoveling and sure enough there it was.

  4. I am a teacher. We get 10 days off in a year. 3 days can be personal days and the rest are sick days. If we don't use ourdays, we lose the personal days but the sick days can build up. At one time you could keep up to 30 days for a severe illness. Now we can keep 40 days. I have worked for this school for 22 years and never used all my days. About 5 years ago, my husband was sick so I used the 30 days. Since then I have built up my time again to 30 days. But the saved days can't be used for vacations only illness. My husband became disabled so we can go during my vacations (Easter and summer).

  5. Hi, thank you for sharing. I always wondered how they did ashes at sea and now I see that it is a beautiful way to be buried.

We were is Labadee in July. I said to my husband that they should have some kind of tram for the pier. I saw several people having problems walking it esp. in the hot sun. Once at the beach they do have a tram, so next time you go just make it to the entrance.

As some people suggested, an electric scooter would be helpful to get you around places both on the ships or at home. My husband was in the handicap accessable business for about 25 years. He helped to design some scooters. Then about 5 1/2 years ago he had viral encephelitis and then a year later prostate cancer. He had to stop working because of severe headaches and seizures. The headaches and seizures are better because of meds and botox treatments. We started cruising about 4 years and hope to continue.

On our cruise in July, we were on a table of ten. It was a nine night cruise. The first night we had 8 people, the second night 6 people and the remaining nights we had us and one other couple. The problem was the other couple would come an hour or more late so we were usually having desert. I guess they thought they had my time dining.

  6. I have worked most of my married life. Then 5 years ago, at the age of 53 my husband got viral encephilitis from shingles and almost a year later prostate cancer. He had neurological problems from the encephitlitis so he had to go on disablity. I continued to work. I hope to retire in about 5 years. I need to work to have health insurance, to get my pension, and so that we can continue doing all the things we do. My husband did not have a pension. I am a teacher so I have time off. Three years ago we discovered cruising and love it.

  7. We cruise for the same reason. Four years ago, my husband had viral encephilitis and then a year later he had prostate cancer. In 2007, we won 2 airline tickets. Although he had some neuological problems, we decided to try cruising. We have been on four in the last 2 years and have two planned for this year. We love it because if he gets tired we can go to our cabin and rest or get room service. There is always a doctor available. He is disabled (because of seizures) so we go when I am free. I am a teacher so I have a lot of time off. I plan on retiring in 5 years.

  8. If there was a cruise line going out of DC, I would be on it. Right now Baltimore has 4 cruise lines going out of it. They are RCCL, Norwegian, Carnival, and Celebrity. Two years ago we went on RCCL. This summer we are booked on Norwegian. We are also looking at Carnival for this summer. But even in Baltimore, they have to be the smaller ships because they have to go under the Key Bridge.
