  1. Do it and enjoy......having cruise since my kids were 18 months old my husband always laughs that my biggest cabin requirement is a bathtub.... it makes all the difference!

NCL staff loves kids and babies. I have found when you board in a suite and are escorted to your room they push the stroller for you! I feel like a princess!!

    Have a great time.

  2. We got two boxes of Godiva on our last cruise. My husband was gold and I platinum.

We each got separate envelopes and letters explaining our perks.

Now, he is platinum also and we will see in June what happens.

It seems weird that you lose out when you are both of that status.

Either way I am glad they did away with the fruit bowl. Seemed like the dumbest gift when food is of abundance all over the ship.

  3. I give my kids an amount they can spend and they have never gone over. I give them $50 per week and they decide what to do with it.

When I am feeling nice.... i offer to buy them more games in the arcade etc and they are allowed to go spend some more.

They have fun keeping their budget. When they play air hocked and the game is for 2 people they take turns using their cards.

So far, no problems and they have had some freedom.

  4. I had not planned on going on the Epic so had never paid close attention to some details. Now we are booked for June and I can't find answers I need to help others in our party know all the necessary costs etc.

If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it.

    1) Cost for Cirque dinner

    2) Cost for Blue Man show

This has me wondering as I want to book these things ahead of time and get the best seats. Our cruise starts in Barcelona, however others get on in Rome. So, when the dinner is available to book 45 days out, have others already had a turn since their 45 days out came sooner? Does that make sense? Will I have a hard time getting the times I want? We really want to do these shows the first 2 days on board as the rest of the days are port days and we be tired.

And, to confirm when we board and it is a port day for some and a boarding day for us.... which restaurants will be open for lunch?

    Thanks so much

  5. In Victoria there is a BEAUTIFUL park that is a close walk to town and can be walked to from the ship if you are energetic. It is called Beacon Hill Park, there are play grounds, a petting zoo and great botanicals.

ALso the the Hippo ride ( a duck tour in some other towns) is really fun and takes you on land and water.

  6. We will be traveling to Italy this summer and visiting the churches etc. I respect the requirements of covering knees and shoulders. Does this apply to children ages 8 and 10. And, for a woman does covering your knees mean not wearing a dress or skirt but long pants? Funny I think dresses look so much nicer than pants.

    Thanks

  7. We did this tour and it was amazing..... we returned after 6:30 at night and they had held the ship.

The stop at the Ruins where you can not eat is not going to understand your gluten free needs. It was authentic and delicious and we were in a huge rush to grab our food and eat on the bus as we were running late.

Our backpacks were given a once over when we got off the ship.

I am certain ou would be able to bring some pre packaged items he is able to eat.

There is also a stop at a gift shop where you can buy chips, candy etc.

You will be hungry, tired and so happy you did this trip. It is a long day though.

  8. I was so worried about the elf getting lost, dirty etc. Ours is really naughty and follows us around, climbs in trees etc. We were afraid of sand all over or another disaster. We had a lot of fun with the cousin that came because he could be touched by children. He too showed up on excursions, climbed the rock wall etc.... this was a year that was all about the Elf. much to my ten year olds dismay. My 8 year old loved it. me, I am tired of having to write notes with my left hand.

    Happy New Year

  9. I gave up and pushed the button that said PLEASE call me. Within 30 seconds I had a call, a live person answered the phone and my order was complete within a minute.

It was a great customer service experience.

She said sometimes the gift certificates get a glitch.

When I get my next certificate in the mail I might just call in my order.

    Good luck

  10. You do need to book ahead. They say limited space however they use the restaurant so I think they have lots of room. I would wait as you will see the characters all around the ship and already have lots of photos.

I don't regret it just don't need to do it again. And, on the last sea day you want to get up slowly and not hurry off to an event.

  11. Yes you pay for everyone. When I asked the photo shop about a free photo they had no idea what I was talking about... so I had to pay for that also.

I would say that with all the photo ops you will have during the week the breakfast really does not need to be a must do.

Again all the food is free in the buffet and I think better.
