My wife uses whatever is in the cabin. We were on Liberty 2 years ago and it was the new style that stayed on. Onboard the Jewel last month, when we got in our cabin, it was the old style that required holding the button. She hated it. On the second day it broke (wouldn't turn on) so our cabin steward brought us a new one. It was the new style that stayed on. My wife loved it. If you get the old style in your cabin, maybe it will somehow break and you'll get the new style.

LOL, you just never know!!! I make do with whatever, but on the Oases last yr the hair dryer actually dried your hair!!!

  2. Hi all. Haven't been on The Liberty in years. I was just wondering what kind of hair dryer they have? The one that you need to hold the button for it to stay on, or the ones the newer ships have, the control can switch on or off.  Just curious.

    Thanks,

     Marg

Thanks for your input @Mum2Mercury! Since our sailing is still 9 months out and the price of the DBP is still too high for me, I'm not ready to shell out the money. I'd rather wait until the price is one I'm willing to pay. If it doesn't drop to around $75/person/day, we'll probably skip it.

I'll definitely keep an eye on prices, and I do hope that we'll see the low Black Friday prices that I've read about. We weren't able to take advantage for our last cruise since we booked in February and sailed in September.

I can't remember whether it was here or on a social media site, but someone posted a link to a drink package calculator that I've found pretty useful. Here is is, for anyone interested in checking it out:

Oh Boy, just did the calculation, I drink a lot! LOL

I know it will be an inconvenience, since you will have to go to a bar, but will you check to see if Schooner Bar has the new drink menu?

Holy moly...you just hilited what I am seeing....personally, the thing that kept me going back to Royal doesn't seem to be there any more if they are pricing their product that way. I would have expected a higher price with a price check with your timeline, but $5,500 higher??!!! Wow....too bad we can't sell them on the black market.

I am just amazed it's up this much, can't make this stuff up! As you said, services have declined, not as it was. I understand an increase , everything has gone crazy, but this is over the top!

I constantly look at the pricing of the beverage and Internet packages.   For our cruise in September 2024, I had purchased the beverage package at "buy one get one 50% off" ($77.99 pd/pp).

I saw the Senior Savings Sale a few days ago and the beverage package was $67.99 pd/pp).   So I cancelled the $77.99 pd/pp and rebooked the Senior Savings Sale price.   So for two people the new price was a good savings.

Royal was very quick to charge me for the new package but I haven't received a refund yet for my original package.

Internet package still the same:  $19.99 per day for one device.

I'll keep checking.   The prices might go down again....

I rebooked for the senior price on Dec 22nd, I received the refund on the 26th

    B2B info as promised...

We just completed leg 1 of our B2B sailing from Bayonne. Turnaround day went very smoothly and we were notified of the process several days prior. There were several who'd requested wheelchairs and assistance was offered. We met in the Star Lounge on deck 5, received our new room keys, waited about 10 minutes then walked off with a Guest Services staff member. In the terminal, we completed biometrics facial recognition and returned to the ship to sign on using our new Seapass cards.

No crowds and elevator was available in the terminal. The total process was completed within about 45 min.

Hope this helps you. Enjoy your trip!

We did a back to back this past May, procedure exactly the same as stated above.

After selecting the time slot, you will need to complete the travel document info on the App and take a picture that is similar to a passport picture but it was basically useless as they re-took our pictures at the cruise terminal anyway as they didn’t like the ones we uploaded via the App.

A few weeks prior to cruising, you will be able to print your luggage tags from the online account as well as the set sail pass.  Which is similar to the boarding pass to get on the plane.

You will need the set sail pass to board the ship.  Being anal, besides downloading it on my phone, I printed hard copies of the pass for the entire family.  Just being paranoid about not able to access my phone for whatever reason at the port.  Yeah, yeah, I know, but the anal scale of 9.2 is no joke…

I bet I am not the only person here on CC that brings a hard copy as a backup. If anyone else prints out hard copies of the set sail pass, leave a comment below. We anal people need to unite.

Up to 2 days prior, you will need to complete a health questionnaire to see if you are well enough to cruise.

There are other things on the App that will self-populate as your cruise nears.  I think the names of the entertainers started showing up about the week prior to sailing.

    Screen shot of the App:

I am 10.0 anal!!!! Stay up until MN at the 45 day check in to get the first check in time and always have a hard copy of set sail pass, would never cruise without it!!!!! LOL,  very paranoid!

OK. Too many misassumptions here to quote. Just returned from the Freedom and had MTD. Early dining started at 5:45. We would usually go to the MTD desk about 6:00 and have a table within 5 minutes. After the first night, no waiting. Had the same table every night even going at 6:30. It was an unused table in the early dining area. There were several empty tables so all were available for anyone with MTD. Food was served at the same time as early set dining, by the same waiters and was the same quality. Waiters actually had more time for us as their other diners were eating.

We were on the Oasis in May. Early dining was at 5:00. We were rushed so they could accommodate MTD. When we left the dining room the lines for reservations and non were ridiculous. Many complaining they were not able to have dinner until very late. I realize the Oasis is a big ship. However on our upcoming cruise MTD does not start until 7 :30, if you do not make reservations when booking it will be 8:30 or 9:00 before you could get in. I don't know why they changed how things were done in the past on the smaller ships, 1 dining room or a part of designated to MTD. But, it's the way it is now. For our upcoming cruise on Liberty we were not going to make reservations but when I saw 7:30 was the earliest I figured better book now.

  10. Recently off the oasis, started 0ver $100 pp, no way, I grabbed it at $67. As everyone knows you can cancel and rebook if a lower price. Will just wait. We have 4 free cuz of Diamond, I think it would be better jut to pay for our extra drinks but my husband doesn't think so!  Likes not having to sign for your drinks, LOL

  11. For yrs I wanted to sail on The Oasis. When it came to NJ I was very excited. Cruised this May, not a fan at all. Too big, too crowded, tooooo loud. The worse thing for us was the under utilization of the main theater. Most games, shows, music etc held in small venues. Unless you were their way before forget getting a seat. Of course still enjoyed the cruise but will stick to a different class. And forget this Utopia!!!! LOL
