Just booked Aqua class on Reflection for the first time. Love the ship and the MDR. Hope we will like Blu. Any comments or sample menus would be appreciated.

If you ask rci, they tell you there are no additional shoes, but when we got on ship we slowly learned there were additional entertainers every night. Had ten shows altogether including the usual ones. Very talented headliners, funny comedians, and then hairspray, ice show, diving show, come fly with me, etc.
We were very busy!

Just came home tonight from Barcelona. What can I say??? The cruise was fabulous. 11 days at sea and we were sad to leave. Been on oasis and allure several times. There's never a boring day or night. Lots of shows added. Recommend it to snyone who loves those ships!

Currently on oasis. Brought two bottles of wine, 12 pack of soda and four bottles of water. Soda and water were checked in with luggage. Carried wine with us. Nobody even looked at it!

We were just there. We used the hop on hop off bus. Two different routes, only €15 per person. Good value!

Going on 12 day transatlantic on Oasis on Sept 1st. Do they offer unlimited internet on this ship? Had it last year on the Allure. Anyone know?

Been on both within the last two months. Both are fabulous. Just choose date and itinerary and have fun!

Hi,
We were on the same cruise and during this itinerary we never traveled very far between port so it's a little difficult to gage propulsion problems. I will say that the current Captain is very punctual. If you are supposed to be in port at 8:00 am, They are making an announcement at 8:00 am that the gangway was open. Not 8:01 or 7:55, I have never seen anyone be that precise to a schedule. I will disagree with the vibration comment. Every time they use the forward thrusters there was some significant vibration, much more than I experience on other ships. It even felt like they were using the forward thruster during the one windy night to help steer the ship, because that vibration was noticeable during the night. We certainly did not notice anything that would make me worry. I will echo the OP's comments that it was a great cruise and every aspect of cruise was great.
I agree with your comments although we didn't notice vibration. Also depends on your location. We were midship.
See you are going on oasis and allure. We love those ships. Doing transatlantic on oasis sept. 1. Also taking family New Years cruise!

Did you happen to see the grand lunch buffet on the last couple days of the cruise?
No, not in MDR. Had a nice buffet on sea day (only had one) at the regular lunch buffer. Nice but not spectacular!
-
Did you notice any issues with the speed limitation/propulsion issue at all?
No, ship extremely smooth and quiet. Not even a vibration!

We loved the dining room food! We didn't find any need to go to specialty restaurants. Got everything we wanted and well prepared and served!

Just returned last night from 12 days on Silhouette. We are elite with celebrity and have cruised about 80 times with every cruise line.
Our experience was exceptional. Celebrity knows how to put it all together. The s class ships are the best. Our food and dining service was faultless. Recommend the silhouette and reflection to all! (Only 2 solstice class ships I've been on). We've sailed on princess, holland America, Oceania, and every other cruise line. Loved this one for value and quality!!!

We are thinking of taking a verandah guarantee for June 22nd sailing on silhouette. Has anyone done this recently? There is a big price difference (almost $1000pp) if we do this vs. taking an assigned room. We are elite. Anyone out there have any thoughts or experiences?

Looking to book rooms for family on New Years cruise. Has anyone stayed in the rooms on 9th floor viewing Central Park. They do not have balcony, but are well priced. Want to know how they worked out. Were they noisy? Have stayed in upper flors with balconies and they were fine. Thanks!

It's true. We went to china and japan with Azamara a few years ago. It was freezing in most of the ports. Didn't warm up until Hong Kong.

All cruises which just came out have free Internet and gratuities if booked by dec. 31, 2013.

Where did you see this? I looked on their website and didn't see it,

Terry and Judy,
We did a Game Drive before we boarded the ship in Capetown. We did it in the Sabi Sands area of South Africia. It was absolutely fantastic and I would urge anyone who has 3 spare days to do at least one. I will send all the details in my email to you.
Jennie
I would love the information from you or anyone else who has done this. My e-mail address is gigi627@bellsouth.net. Thanks, Gloria

We were just looking at new Princess itinerary for 2012. They are offerring the Capetown to Dover trip in May, 2012. Sounds interesting.
Glad to see all the input about this itinerary. We are not familiar with the ports offered. Is there anyway to arrange a safari for a few days between ports? Does Princess ever offer this as an overland trip? Let me know. Thank you.

We also used Denrus last year in St. Petersburg and Berlin. We went on a group tour that was much cheaper than Princess. They were great and everything was taken care of with absolutely no hassle. You do not need a visa if you are on tour with a pre-approved tour group and we did not have any problem getting off the ship immediately.
Hope you have a great time. This was our second cruise to the Baltic and we loved it both times!

On our recent cruise, we had a lot of shipboard credit including $100 for shareholders. We asked the passenger service desk if it made a difference how we spent it and we were told anything charged to our account goes against the shipboard credit. It did not matter where you spent it -- spa, casino, tips, etc.
So don't worry about how to spend it!

On oasis right now. New Years cruise! We are a party of ten. Never had a problem. Made reservations on ship about 2 hours before show time. Only bad night was New Years eve and we only waited a short time! Everyone eating on late side, but otherwise fine.
