All Celebrity drink packages, even those comped, include the gratuity, as opposed to NCL, where a per drink gratuity is added.  Of course, it's common, and nice to tip bartenders and servers who go above and beyond.

In my  humble opinion this is all about cost savings.  The more choices on a menu to the more food that must be prepared in anticipation of orders.  By limiting the choices on the menu the cruise ship can better estimate what demand for items will be and thus reduce waste.

You would be amazed at how much waste there is for each meal on a cruise ship.  That represents a tremendous loss to the bottom line.

There is a lot of waste because the food isn't good. If I they are going to experiment with my dinner I am going to order one of each so I know there will be something I like to eat. I wish they would quit with the Indian food and all the sloppy sauces on everything. Just give us food we recognize.

Side question to those in the know:  We will be on a cruise soon with our first time having Drinks on Us in the casino. My question is how do the casino workers know that you have the DOU option? Is there a designation on your S&S card or......? I can't find info on the specifics, including what is the limit of # of drinks under DOU? If there is somewhere on the CCL site that explains this, please someone let me know! I hate asking stupid questions, but I just don't know this and can't find answers. Thanks all for your help!

I find that the Drinks on Us at Carnival is not much of a benefit. The service is slow, casinos are crowded, and you need to stay at the same machine or table in order to get your drink. I am lucky if I can get one drink a night. I could never ever get any where near 15 drinks.

Some of us that have family members with underlying conditions have never had the choice of getting vaccinated and boosted. Its become a way of life for that population. I applaud Carnival for continuing to require the testing prior to Cruising. Hopefully they will eventually be in a position to move away from this mandate. Now is not he time with the new strains appearing everyday week/month.

I agree with you 100%. My husband and I are both fully vaccinated and boosted. We got off a RC ship a week ago Sunday and Monday my husband started with symptoms. I tested positive a few days later. Fortunately, we only bad cold symptoms. I know there were others on our sailing that tested positive after the cruise. No one is tracking people after they leave the ship. Covid is still with us.

Yes, I have been to this area. But even though I have the cancel for any reason insurance, it says if I cancel today, I'll lose $230.. So I don't want to hit the Cancel button here, because I don't want to be out $230, when I have a valid illness prohibiting me from taking the cruise.

You will have no choice but to call.

I need help. I have tried contacting Carnival since last Sunday to cancel a cruise. I have been on hold for anywhere up to 3 hours, each day without speaking to a service rep. I need to cancel a cruise that is leaving next week on the 9th. I've spent hours online trying to see if there is a way to do it online, but can't come up with anything. I can't seem to get through to anyone at Carnival to do this. Doe's anyone know if I can do it online? Maybe, I'm not looking in the right area. I do have the Carnival " Cancel for any reason" protection plan. Thanks, in advance

I don't know about the mobile app but when using a laptop there is an option. If you booked it yourself you can go to "Booking Details" at the top of the page. Scroll down to where it says "Paid In Full." Click "View Balance Details" and scroll down to the very bottom and it will say, "View Cancellation Information." When you click on that you will see an option to cancel it. They do a very good job of hiding it I guess so people don't accidentally cancel. Good Luck!

This makes no sense.  You tell us that you are fully vaccinated, that you were only around vaccinated people and yet you still got Covid. However you wouldn't sail unvaccinated.  What evidence do you have that sailing vaccinated did you any good at all.

Those who are fully vaccinated are much less likely to develop severe disease or require hospitalization. You can educate yourself at the CDC website. Turning off notifications. You will find all of the information you need there.

You say “I would not sail unvaccinated.”  Why do you say that?   He still got Covid even after having the vax and booster.

How about where an unvaccinated person sails and doesn’t get Covid? There’s not many unvaccinated adults each cruise, but there usually are a few (from Florida at any rate).  They have to test 3x for a cruise.  Two times before boarding and once on the last day.

I personally know of situation where an unvaccinated person sat and stood next to a vaccinated person in the Flowrider line for multiple days.  At the end of the 6nt cruise, the vaccinated person tested positive for Covid (he was B2B and needed to test for his next cruise).  The unvaccinated person however, never got Covid.  That’s all I’m going to say about it.

    @xpcdoojk I’m a fan.  4th one it looks like.

I say that because the unvaccinated are more likely to get severe covid and/or require hospitalization.

We have one person in our party of six who is unvaccinated. I see that you may do cruises from FL without a vaccine (as long as there is not a stop in Bahamas). Wondering what the on-board experience is like, from anyone who may have sailed in this manner. Thank you

We just got off the Harmony on Sunday. Monday my husband started feeling sick. Tuesday he tested positive for covid. He was fully vaccinated and boosted. We drove to the port and never left the ship at any port. There were others on our sailing who tested positive after leaving. I would not sail unvaccinated.

  10. We got smoothies at the Vitality Bar near the spa with our Diamond vouchers. Word of caution, they have made cutbacks and many of the healthy ingredients are gone. They put some syrup in to sweeten mine. It was the same bottle you would find in a bar with lots of unhealthy ingredients.

  11. I have cruised six times since restart. The MTD is not truly MTD and it’s a hassle. I hated making appointments and they were always late. They frowned upon us showing up outside of our dining time. I have changed all of my future reservations to early dining until they return to the flexibility of true MTD.

  12. I have been on six cruises since start up. Some of the ports are strict when it comes to check in times and some are not. We just got off the Harmony yesterday. When we checked in I accidentally got in the line that was a half hour earlier than our check in. I had no problem whatsoever. If you tried to check in hours earlier it’s possible they may make you wait.
