You can read the press release about it https://www.princess.com/en-us/news/news-releases/2024/04/princess-cruises-unveils-exclusive-new-sanctuary-collection-aboard-sun-princess-and-star-princess

Short answer is they're changing Reserve Collection and Suites to be Sanctuary Collection and increasing the pricing but including the premier package. Anyone who didn't previously have premier does not get upgrade you keep what you had before.

This also dilutes the exclusivity of the Sanctuary space as now it won't just be the 80 Suites, it'll be Signature Collection Suites (80), Mini Suites (123), and Premium Deluxe Balconies (12).

It also is pushing the upper limit of what I can reasonably spend on a fruits.

Not clear to me how the restaurant allocation will work. Do S9 and up still go to the ´Signature Restaurant’ and other Sanctuary Club cabins get the ´Reserve Restaurant’?

Here is the Penthouse Suite "included" list now. It definitely shows the Thermo Suite included!!

    Screenshot_20240413_113948_Chrome.jpg

If you look carefully, there’s a little 2 next the thermal suite and it points to the following line in the legal notes: ‘2Only available on Caribbean, Crown, Emerald, Ruby, Diamond, Sapphire, Coral & Island’

Unless they have an error in there and forgot to add Sun Princess to the list.

Hello All, I ran across this S9 Signature Suite tour on YouTube if anyone's interested.

Thank you. Had been looking for a video of S9s. Essentially, as others have reported, it's a mini-suite except you get Signature Suite amenities and areas.

We were on the Sun Princess last week and spent 3 days in the Sanctuary. It was our favorite place on the ship! Marc was the manager and his team delivered the best service and were a highlight of

the trip. The cost for non- suite guests was 99 per person for sea days and 79

per person for port days. most of the chairs are Padded and there are two

locations other than the cabanas for shade. The food and drinks were great and it was seldom very crowded. Suite guests have an area dedicated to them at the very aft of the sanctuary. Most all sanctuary staff were hand picked from other ships. Everyone went out of their way to deliver a true first class and memorable experience to all of

the guests. Just wanted to share our experience in case it is helpful. 😊

Thanks for the post. So it’s confirmed that Suite passengers get access to all of the Sanctuary for free, not just the Suite section in the back?

The weather has not been great - sunnier today but with a cool wind. The Sanctuary and Cabanas have been virtually deserted for the last 2 sea days. The Cabanas are available to book but the televisions aren't installed yet so guests won't get the full experience. I think you will need to wait for a number of weeks to get any feedback on this question.

Thanks for this. After some discussion this aft, we've decided to simply change to a sailing two weeks earlier where there was a PH Suite available in a better location (on deck 15). For the price these are, we didn't want to risk chair dragging bothering us.

After being awakened by scraping sounds while loungers were dragged around at dawn by guests and crew, we prefer rooms above us.

Thanks for your reply. I know. That’s our fear as well.

Unfortunately, this cabin is the only Signature Penthouse left on our sailing and that’s the category we’d like.

Given the cabin is right under paid for cabanas in the paid access Sanctuary, I’m hoping it’ll be less noisy?

Anyone with direct experience of these deck 17 Penthouse suites now that the Sun has been sailing for a few weeks?

  7. Been watching lots of Sun Princess video tours. Noticed that on the Sea View Terrace (so the open area in front of The Dome), the loungers there are padded. Seems strange to me that they would be in this open free area but not be in The Sanctuary. So, I wonder if perhaps those will come in later and just didn’t ma the inaugural sailings in time?

(Virtually) No one is going to be going to the Cabanas at $500/day and hardly anyone is going to go to Sanctuary and pay $99/day to sit on the same loungers as on the open deck.  Perhaps a handful of suite folks baking in the sun is all I would think.  And I doubt that is much of an exaggeration.

Thanks @Steelers36. Makes a lot of sense. Plus no kids in that section. Appreciate the response.

  9. Hey all.

We’ve booked cabin 17629 for a Novembre sailing. All that’s the left for the sailing we want. Wondering about potential noise from above.

It is located right under the Sanctuary, more specifically under the cabanas you can rent.

Does anyone who has sailed on Sun Princess so far got any experience with these suites on deck 17? Noisy?

Thanks in advance for the thoughts.

  10. What a good night’s sleep will do… Woke up this morning and surprise, the canceled cruise is gone from the app. Took 3 days from the moment I canceled. Now showing only our active sailing.

    Thanks all for the responses!

My agent cancelled one of my cruises, yesterday Monday.  I received my refund on my credit today, Tuesday. The cruise is longer showing on my Princess app.

Interesting. Still haven’t received my credit card reimbursement. Once I see it go through, perhaps that’s when the booking will be completely gone from the app. Although it is gone from the web site.

The app could take forever to remove  a canceled. cruise. I have one I canceled a month ago still showing up on the app

Ok so should I call or just let it be. Will it get fixed by sailing time, or does it matter?

  13. 1 hour ago, PacnGoNow said:

Was that done recently?  If so, it takes a few days to fall off the App, after a change or cancellation.

Most important..,does it show correctly on the cruise personalizer?  The cruise you cancelled…is it gone on the website?

If the website is correct, then just leave it alone on the App.

If it really bothers you, you can call in to OceanReady on the pcl  phone line.

When the App first was released, I had 2 of my cruises showing as 1 cruise and they were not!  Not even the same ship.  It corrected itself about 2 weeks later.  SMH

Thanks for your reply. My cruise personalizer has no trace of the canceled booking. I canceled the booking last Sunday so it’s only been a couple of days. I’ll give it some time to fix itself, as you suggest.

  14. I booked a cruise on Sun Princess, the November 23rd sailing. Could not log in to the app using my web site credentials. It worked using our booking number.

We then decided to switch to the November 30th sailing. I booked that one online and called to cancel the 23rd sailing.

Now, the app still shows the original sailing plus the new one as a back to back cruise. Web site is fine and has no trace of the original sailing.

Any idea how I can remove the canceled sailing from the app?

Thanks in advance for the help.

  15. Thanks. Do let us know.

We’ve booked cabin 17629. It is right under the cabanas you can rent. Based on the videos I’ve seen, they are separated from the pool area by a low wall. On the pool side of the wall, there are big double loungers that I assume stay in place or at least don’t get moved around much. And in the cabana, there’s not much space to drag loungers around. This should minimize sound or at least I hope.

Either way, looking forward to hearing folks experiences.

  16. Morning. Looking at booking a Penthouse Suite on the new Sun Princess. However, all that are left are right under the Sanctuary on deck 17. I know the ship is new but any experience which such cabins from the sound standpoint. Are they noisy from deck action above? The Sanctuary should be quieter and I’ve put a deposit on one that is right under a private cabana which I’d assume would be quieter than open deck space. Any input appreciated, even your experience on another ship with similar cabin location. Thanks!

  17. Been to Labadee many times, the first time being in 1996 on Sovereign of the seas. Absolutely love it. That said, sadly, I would not book a cruise with this stop right now. Don’t think it is possible to guarantee one’s security there at the moment with an absentee government and gangs running wild. Sad because of the beauty of the area and the impact of ships possibly pulling their stops on the local economy.

  18. Hi all. Looking at booking a Royal Suite on Ascent. I notice they are all right under the spa. One I’m considering is, more specifically, under treatment rooms and the corridor leading to them. Has anyone experienced noise in a Royal Suite on Ascent (or Beyond) coming from the spa above? I’d imagine treatment rooms wouldn’t be the biggest source of noise but given the price of these cabins, I’d rather be safe than sorry and ask. Thanks for any info you can provide.

  19. Hey folks. Sailing with MSC first time, and first time on a ship in 4 yrs! What should we expect for dress code on MSC gala nights. Web site seems to suggest whatever floats your boat. Is that reallly the case or do folks dress up formally? Thanks!

  20. I was able to add photos weeks before sailing. Couldn’t add my CC though. I’m now a few days away from sailing. Still couldn’t add the CC through the website but was able to add it through the app.

  21. Hey all. Sailing the World Europa this summer. While the web site allows me to book specialty restaurant packages, it doesn't seem to be allowing to book specific times. Two questions:

    1) If I wait until we board, does being in the Yacht Club give one an edge on getting availabilities in the specialty restaurants?

    2) If I book a package, does it guarantee me availability once onboard?

    Thanks.

I could be wrong, but I believe the pre and post excursions for these cruises are not available because the ship is embarking and disembarking passengers at every port.  We get on in Marseille and are not able to book excursions in Marseille but can in all other ports.

This is in response to OP's question.

Interesting. Perhaps that is why, though the rep on the phone did tell me that they didn't offer pre/post options. But perhaps the rep was just mistaken and your explanation is correct.
