  1. They tried to have Boston as a seasonal port (split from New York) a couple of years back and they could not sell the ship. My bet is if they do this, it will be along the same lines as last time and I really doubt it will be to Bermuda.

Actually this is NOT the reason that carnival didn't come back to Boston, the cruises sold just find. It was the fact that they needed to have scrubbers on the ship by a certain date to be able to come up here. They are VERY expensive to add (new ships come with them) so they chose not to come back to Boston. I work at the Boston cruise port and worked with Carnival when they were here. Love cruising with them.... working with them... not so much LOL (and I don't mean the CREW members)

  2. I am a port agent at a cruise port and my suggestion is to go to the local Customs and border patrol office and bring everything and explain it to them. They are the one that would be the one that can tell you if it is ok or not.

  3. Thanks. Every port is different and I haven't sailed from NO for a few years and wasn't sure if they had an actual room you go to. The issue is he has difficulty walking but maybe I can tell him he can stay seated until they need him.

It's been hard enough keeping this a secret for so long!

When we get back I have his son from Texas with his kids coming to see him and he hasn't yet met his grands! He doesn't know they are coming either! Secrets abound! :D

  4. I do all of the travel agraingments in our house so my husband doesn't look at any of it. He is of the... just tell me where to be kinda guy lol. We are on the Elation this Saturday and I am surprising him for his 50th birthday that his sister is sailing with us. Now here is the catch... she lives in New Orleans so that is no issue but she is also going to be in our cabin. I will print out the boarding passes separately so her name isn't on our but I am sure the check in agent is going to ask about the 3rd person when we go to check in and I want him to find out when he is on the ship. We are VIP so we get priority boarding as will she since she is in our cabin. We have 2 friends sailing with us as well that are not VIP so I am looking for ways to get around the check in agent say something and have her check in alone or with our friends. Any ideas?
