  1. Unfortunately, many of the new ships being built today don't have a forward facing lounge... As more and more passengers demand aft and forward suites aboard a ship, the forward lounge alike an aft swimming pool is being squeezed out...

What is happening to the Star reflects what is happening with new ships being built...

besides NCL--what other new ships that were built the last two years

have no forward observation area because this space was used for suites???

  2. In general the list is the same as the link to the latest on NCL.com. As far as a computer that link not only indicates there is one in the AA but the Courtyard Villas on the other ships. We know that is not the case. :D

I just looked at the amenities chart again and there is no computers on the list, no Ipod docking station etc. Maybe someone who has recently stayed in the owners suite on the Sky could verify the above list. Also I am not sure there is a separate suite room service menu that is different than the one in the regular suite which i know for a fact is no different than the standard room service menu--you can probably get anything you want from the butler except sushi--which they will not do on room service. Also there is really no formal concierge lounge from the ships i have sailed on--they just hang out by Cagney's usually. Maybe the Epic will have a dedicated lounge???? Chocolates at bed turn down I believe have been eliminated in all suites--this was recent change this year. Also I have never seen one of these feather duvets??? This look like a list that came out during the roll out of 2.0 --a lot has changed since then.

  3. May think it is old but it was sent out this week by NCL to superflyjeff when he booked the AA on the Sky. ;)

That is typical of NCL--but there is no formal night for example like on the list

so I guess I would verify this list again and make sure it it the latest--especially for the SKy which may not have all the amenities listed in the list like --Ipod docking station etc.--computer etc like the newer ships--I guess

I would rely on what is on the web site.

  5. I am going to Alaska on the Star on April 25th.:D When I recieved my welcome aboard booklet I read that NCL is now requireing each Passenger take only 2 pieces of Luggage :mad:and they can only be 50 pounds each. I had my TA call NCL to comferm and to find out what were the regulations concerning the amount of our carry-ons. My TA talked to a NCL Supervisor and she said that NCL wants to reglate the Luggage to comply with the Airlines. :confused:Then she went on to say that you will only be allowed 1 carry-on 18 by 24. No cases of water and ect.You of course be allowed Purses and Cameras. I did not find out when or where they will check the weight of the Luggage or will they charge us and bill it to our OBC:cool:

'This is what is on the web site-- they mention the airlines-- i will go by this.

"Each person is allowed up to 200 pounds of personal luggage on board. However, if you are traveling by air, ask the airline if it has different restrictions. Airlines and NCL have limited liability for loss, so be sure all baggage and personal belongings are properly insured. Suitcases should be securely locked and tagged. You should hand-carry medication, jewelry or other valuables and important documents."

  8. On our last cruise on the Spirit-- spring 2008-- they asked that if anyone was intereseted that you could fill out a card( a raffel) to dine with one of the ships officers including the captain on one special night-- we really

liked the hotel director so we put his name down and we dined with him along with another couple in the main dining room along with all the officers with other guests at other tables-- this was really a nice thing to do. Since the hotel director is in charge of all the food, cabins, entertainment etc-- you can imagine the service we received at our table that night in the main dining room.
