  1. There is a good list on the other board of things to do from 30 days out and right up until sail time. Most I have on my list but there ae a few good ideas. I could paste it here but it is pretty long. If anyone wants it they can jump the broom, so to speak, and retrieve it from the main board.

    Excitement is building:p

I grabbed some hanging name badge holders from my office today. So if anyone does not have a lanyard to put their name tag on, I have quite a few. As long as it is there, might as well bring it along.

Some busy weeks coming up now. will help pass the time until the cruise.

  2. Welcome Debbie and Williejan. Glad to have you onboard.

Well restarted Weight Watchers with my boss today. This should work out well:eek: She is a vegan, marathon runner and a size 8. Yeah I am physced. NOT. Need to lose 10 pounds before the cruise and I am determined. 100 would get me to a size 8 so I will have to settle for 10.

Well everyone have a great day! Looking forward to my 3 oz of turkey for lunch with a tomatoe and Weight Watcher chips. Whoo hoo!

  3. Thanks Peter for the information. You need to teach me how to post stuff especially pictures. I use Shutterfly. Do I have to change to another host or can I copy from my computer?

Welcome Ade and Anita. We are Joyce and Jerry and live in the Ft. Lauderdale area. This is our first TA but have another booked next year.

did the doc dance last night as I saw the docs online and ordered my luggage tags. The tags make it feel so real when they come in.

    Everyone have a great day.

  4. Peter did you book entertainment prior to your Liberty cruise.

If anything it would only be open for the Saturday night Fever show I would think. Everything else is usually twice a night. Maybe they will do the same thing with this show. There was never a problem on Freedom class for ice skating tickets. They gave them out at a certain time and there were plenty and times to choose from.

  5. Hi everone...........

OH Joyce I"m sure many of us will cruise together again!!!! I've met cruise friends that we get together every year on a cruise. ITS been wonderful.

WE just had friends in from San Diego that we met on a Disney Cruise........they've decided to book Oasis of the Sea's with us for March 2, 2013.............if anyone's interested. WE switched from Feb. to that date so friends could go. WE now have 10 going...........:D With Emmy's help she convienced me to book a B1 balcony.

You are right Sandy. We travel a lot with past friends we met on a cruise. We have become very close to some of our fellow cruisers.

  6. Hi Joyce, regarding the time for high tea, it was considered that this should be served around 5 pm as it is really a substantial working meal to be eaten at the end of the working day on a 'high' table.

Afternoon tea as the name suggests is served mid afternoon and also known as 'low tea' as the snacks which make up afternoon tea were served on low tables.

    Hope that helps.

Tremendously. We usually do this at a synagogue and they have high bar tables and we were thinking about 5 instead of our usual 6 pm.

I knew you would be able to help. AGAIN! I will never forget how wonderful our seats were for Billy Elliot because of your help figuring out which section to get seats in. If ever I can return the favor, just ask.

This cruise will not be the last time we see each other, I am certain. You cruise enough that sooner or later you will be here, like on the Allure. We will make up to meet you before you cruise. You are the best.

  7. OK, so I don't want to hear of anything like this happening on Liberty. Nobody can do an imitation of Kate Winslet!

I laughed my butt off on this one. Or ROTFLMO.

Peter, I have a question that you might be able to answer. My office is considering doing a high tea instead of a fundraising dinner. The question I was asked today was can a high tea be done in the early evening. I immediately told my boss (witch) that I knew someone I could ask. So is there a set time for high tea?

  8. With the amount of D and D+ on this cruise it will be the Sphynx Lounge that will probably be used as the D Lounge, on the Eastbound this is what they did, no drinks were served up in the D lounge in the evening instead they were in the Sphynx D+ had access to both the CL and the Sphynx, I would normaly tip the wait staff on the last night but we found a huge advantage tipping nightly :)

On the perfect cruise there would be no kids and no finger snapping louts, oh well I can dream :) nearly forgot the waiters would all be topless :D

    NC FOR ME

Nice image:D Move over here I come to the NC.

I think we will not have much of a problem on this TA with kids. School is in session and it is not an attractive cruise for families. Maybe some home schoolers or babies.

Based on these boards we might be the ones wearing bibs to catch all our drinks as they dribble down our chins...

  9. I found you Barb... been busy loading photos and video on Facebook took ages will do more tomorrow.

JOYCE are we still on for Chops on the 29th as I see you mentioned going another night....??

Off to bed... night night and good morning to my friends over the pond...

Sherry absolutely on for the first night. We can go to chops together and change the reservations for a table for all of us instead of 2 tables. I also booked the 5th for my birthday since steak is my favorite food. You are welcome to join us then also. I certainly would not miss the first night because of the coupon!!!

    See you on board..

  10. Just stopped by to say a fast hello. Have been lazy for a few days and have not jumped on here.

George I hope everything has gone well with the cleaning out. I know it is hard. My mom was in hospice and I thought she had a little longer so I went to her apartment because her neighbors had her keys. I wanted to make sure she did not have anything there like jewelry or money that needed to be moved. Of course I got the call while there that she had passed. I felt awful but knew I was doing what she would have wanted me to do. After that I could not go back. I told everyone to take what they wanted and of course other than her personal things and some cookbooks she collected I have nothing of hers. However, the upside is in the cookbooks (she always told me she wanted me to make sure I kept them) I found some notes she wrote to me. Very special.

George hold onto the good memories. They will last a lifetime.

Okay stepping down now from my soapbox and podium.

I think it is 59 days till sailing. We started another 10.

    Whoo hoo.

    Nite nite.

  11. Sounds like everyone is okay in the earthquake zone it just seems like it is one thing after another.... hurricanes, tornados, floods etc. pretty scary

Off to see the movie The Help, hope it is good....

Let me know what you thought. I read the book that was wonderful and then saw the movie. Can you say Oscar nominations? You know Hilliy is Ron Howard's daughter. She looks like little Opie!

Sorry, I had to do this: You asked this in the LGBT forum? http://gaylife.about.com/od/fashion/a/gayhalloween.htm

We really do have a quandary, though, since having trouble with the airline baggage limits . Guys, any suggestions?

Paul you never need to apologize here. We crashed your board. However, I agree you are now a member of the NC!:D

    Re Halloween

On the last Halloween cruise I was on (Jewel 2009) the person who won the Scariest costume was a 79 year old man dressed in a Borat Mankini  I have mine on order http://www.play.com/Gadgets/Gadgets/4-/5622627/Borat-Mankini/Product.html and at 270 pounds think I might be in with a chance of winning first prize plus it will not take up much room in my luggage.

I will vote for you George as I don't scare easily either. Just beware, right afterwards we will both be heading into the NC. Just bring something to drink please.

So far everyone seems to be okay between earthquakes and hurricanes. My friends daughter is visiting friends in Abaco, Bahamas at the Ocean front home on stilts! They have been trying to get out since Monday and can't so they have to sit it out in this house. I fear for them. It is right on the beach on a small Island. Right in the path!

Anyone on my Seville excursion and if you did not read it on the other board, here is the information for all Saints Day in Seville,

    Hi Joyce,

    Thank you for your e-mail.

In reference to the festivities on November 1st – please note that most of monuments will be open that day. Alcazar (Royal Palace) is open, so it won’t be a problem for the visit, as well as Santa Cruz and the Old Jewish Quarter. We still don’t have the Cathedral schedule for that day, (we will know a month in advance). They usually have a lot of religious services on the 1st of Nov (All Saints Days) and might not open for visits (if some in your group would like to attend a mass service during the free time this may be possible). In any case it is possible to visit the Cathedral from the outside.

On this day, most of souvenir shops around Santa Cruz District will be open as well as restaurants and bars. The streets will be festive – and I am sure you will enjoy this day to visit.

    Back to work,

    Joyce

  12. Mike,

Niceeeeee car. Nice houses too. It looks like it could be my neighborhood. I guess everyone builds basically the same when not in the northeast.

Sherry the pictures are great. Congrats on the wedding.

I will have one in November 2012. My divorced son finally found someone who is wonderful. After being married to the wicked witch of the south he is soooo very happy now. She has twin 6 year old boys so I will go from 3 grandchildren to 5. Boy I feel so old now. What happened????

Jerry still looking for a job (I don't really see this happening). Peter I hope your looking is going better.

Well yesterday after Jerry decided to clean our linen closet which holds a lot of my clothes and shoes also (small house, huge closets) we decided to go cash in my silver jewelry that I have collected over the years and some gold we still have not cashed in yet. Most was what I had from my mother and I would never wear as very dated and I just don't wear yellow gold anymore. First he did the silver. Now I have done this twice before so I really did not have that much. When he told me $160 I almost fell off the bar stools in the store (what a waste of a barstool...no drinks). By the time we were finished it was over 5K. I told Jerry that even from the grave my mother watches over us. Thinking this could carry me an extra month without him working was my first thought. My second thought was deposit it into my cruising account and forget about it. Which do you think I chose :D:D

LIVE FOR THE DAY is my motto because it can always be your last.

So on that note I am going to take some pictures and try to sell some of the clothes with tags on them that I will never wear but must have been a wonderful sale for me to have bought them in the first place. Ebay get ready here I come.ll:p

    Everyone have a great day.

  13. I also want folks to know I love Kareokee and will sing solo, in a group, sober or otherwise, you will know where to find me and I have a strong ear for music so you ladies pick it and I am in!!

    quote]

If asked I will deny this, but Jerry loves to do Kareokee. Me not at all since I am tone deaf or worse

So if someone asks Jerry to sing he will. In fact you don't even have to twist his arm. His job in life is to make people laugh. And since he lost his job last week, he better do well on this one and keep everyone in stitches.

  14. We got a discount from our TA and she always has a shipboard credit of even $50 waiting in our room. We have Visa points but now that they are enough for a caribbean OV for two, I will use it for a trip on the Allure. Need the free cruises now! Could not use shareholders of course because it is the only thing not combinable with anything and we used the balcony discount and also 2 certificates RCL gave us from a problem we had on the Majesty to make up for the bathroom problem for 2 days on a 3 day cruise.

We prepaid everything even the dinners we reserved so far in Chops. I would think our on board bill should not be more that a hundred or so unless we choose to go to a specialty more than we planned (which we probably will).

Well heading back from Tampa in a few minutes. Cannot wait to get home.

    Have a great Sunday everyone.

    Joyce
