  1. We are considering seven night cruises during July and are hoping to take our kids; 19 and 20. They haven't been away with us for a couple of years but have been on many cruises as children with P&O, RCI, Princess, Celebrity.

There is a cruise we like the look of on Adonia (new ports for us), an adult only ship and also a small one. I have concerns about whether my two will find the size and 'adult only' aspect limiting. Does anyone have experience of this ship and facilities of young people?

We are also considering a 7 nighter on Ventura. We know that this is a large ship with more facilities, would it be preferable. for young adults? We will have been to most of the ports previously, however.

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

  3. We are looking for a seven night cruise in July and have seen one on Balmoral (never been with Fred before).

The ports are new to us, which is what attracted us to the cruise. However, we are hoping to take our kids who will be 'adults' aged 19 and 20. Will they be in a minority on the ship? We usually go on RCI, Princess, P&O, Celebrity, and it will be the first time they won't qualify for kids clubs.

There are a couple of P&O ones we have looked at; one on Ventura one on Adonia (adult only).

No experience with Fred, can anyone advise?

    Thanks.

  4. We are recently back from cruise on Ruby Princess and at some ports brought back a bottle of wine plus cans of beer with no problems. We also brought back a litre of spirits at one port, carrying it in a 'duty free' bag, and were not stopped. A far cry from RCCI's 'diligence' at searching for alcohol.

  5. I have tried and failed to upload a photo of our balcony taken on our recent Ruby cruise. We had cabin C310 and yes, the balconies are larger on Caribe Deck.

There are three rows of balconies above us (Deck 11, 12 and 13) and all these balconies are flush with the ship and not overlooked. They all have two chairs and a table and are a standard size.

Our deck (10) juts out and is overlooked by the balconies above. However, the cabins are also set in from the rooms above and this gives an overhang which provides extra space plus a place to sit in privacy if required. The row of balconies below ours start at the end of our balcony and extend out, they are totally exposed with no overhang. They also have four chairs but they don't have any room to move them about like we did.

I've just had a look at the deck plan and see that your cabin is the one right at the back of the ship on the left hand side. I don't know whether you will have a larger balcony than other Caribe cabins but it would be great if you did:). The deck plans don't make it clear that Caribe deck balconies are larger, the plans are obviously not to scale.
