  1. Can anyone help me figure out the real sail dates.  One the NCL website they have the same 14-day cruise sailing on 7/09 and 7/10.  Seems four sailings have wrong dates.  Easier to see here.

    July 2025: 09, 10, 23, 24

    August 2025: 06, 07, 20, 21

Yes, I could call but I don't think it is realistic that a representative answering the phones can answer this one.

No experience, sorry, but as it is proving so problematic to find a tour, have you considered simply doing your own thing there?

If you have not already done so, and I suspect you may have, try googling something like "things to do in Grundarfjordur", which could bring helpful results including a link to the local Tourist information wesite  Grundarfjordur.is

Or there may be some info or ideas to be found in past threads.

Our fall back is the Kirkjufell falls which seem walkable, but family is very interested in seeing the Puffins, which cannot be done without an excursion.  Either way I am sure it will work out.

Is it possible you were looking at third party shorex vendors, such as Viator instead of actual tour operators?  Third party vendors are middlemen not tour providors, so you would not always know which company they would be booking you with and would also be tied to their own cancellation policies which may be different from those of the actual providor.

Thanks, I knew better than that and have been looking for independent vendors as opposed to third parties.  I agree with the other comment about most excursions are from land-based customers but have found a couple that mention cruises and a special policy related to them.  One didn't have Grundafjordur excursions and the other did not operate on the day we will be there.  I am still on the hunt but if anyone has experience with one, please let me know.

  4. We have a cruise to Iceland in July and I am looking for an excursion when we visit Grundafjordur, but so far those I have found have a 24 hour cancellation policy which won't work if we cannot tender.  Does anyone know excursion companies with a refund policy that would accomidate us if we miss the port?

I found ArcticShorex so far but they have no excursions on the day we will be there.

We wanted to do an excursion that has sold out. We booked a private tour. The operator is planning to leave at 45 minutes after tendering. Some people in the group do not have Gold level of latitude points necessary for priority tendering. Is there any way that we can get extra tickets for them to disembark when we do?

    Thanks for any advice.

Is this for an Iceland/Greenland port?  Can I ask if the tour operator you found will give you a refund if you cannot tender?  All the tour operator that I see have a 24 hour cancellation policy but that will not work if the day of you cannot tender.

  6. Two questions with regards to getting an FCC if the price drops...

    1) Do the promotions need to be the same, meaning if I got free gratuities can I only price match if there are also free gratuities?

    2) If I booked through a TA do I need to go through them or can I just contact NCL directly?

  7. Can anyone please verify my understanding based upon the terms & conditions as well as past experience (assuming no change since we went in 2022).  This would be for restaurants like Cagney's and Le Bistro, not Food Republic.  Also I understand some items have a surcharge.

Is it better to upgrade to unlimited during online check in or onboard the ship? Going on a 7 day Pearl Boston to Bermuda.

    Thank so much!

We did a cruise in November and I upgraded the first morning (after the first night).  We had wifi up until late the first night leaving NYC but found when I upgrading on day 2 it was cheaper, as it was one less day.  I am hoping someone can say if that is still the case.  I don't know if it works past a certain day though.

Reservations open at 12 midnight eastern time 125 days prior to departure. Make sure to book at 125 days to ensure you get your preferred dining dates and times. Prime time dining on sea days sell out quickly.

When I look at the restaurants through the NCL app it says "please check back on 4/22/23 to book" which is 120 days before our 8/20/23 cruise (balcony room).  The thing is I am Latitude Saphire, so I was expecting it to be 125 days out.  Does this seem wrong?  Do I need to contact NCL to have it changed, as I want to do it through the app and not have to call.

  10. I tried the patch once and had horrible side effects with constant dry mouth.  I buy a bottle of "Rugby Travel Sickness, 100 Tablets" for less than $8 which is more than enough for my family even when we start a few days before.  Never had an issue with them, but also have had a green apple on hand just in case.

  11. As part of my recent booking I got a $25 per person Specialty Dining Credit, which is in addition to the free at sea dining package.  Does anyone have any experience with this promo, as I am guessing it would allow me to order a side lobster tail, but not sure.  Also not sure if I end up paying the service charge on the value of the credit I use.

My dad is a diabetic of almost 50 years, has never brought his own supply of these products and never had an issue on 20+ cruises (mostly on Princess).

With 50 years’ experience that is great for him.  We had 6 months experience with T1D for our child at that time and had something that worked for us in the middle of the night if we needed it.  It was worth getting the exception to bring it on as well as bring home what we didn't use.  Purpose of my post was to share an experience I had to the original poster to say if it makes you more comfortable, that yes it is possible.

  13. I love this topic as we are also cruise veterans, but my 13-year-old daughter was diagnosed with T1D about five months ago.  We leave for a 14-day cruise next Sunday and are both excited and nervous.  My daughter is on a CGM (Dexcom G6) and an insulin pump (Omnipod 5).  Without WiFi for her AND one parent we will not be able to track her glucose levels.  Before her pump this was a big concern for me but with her pump adjusting her basil insulin when she goes low, I am feeling much better.  If your son is not on a CGM and an insulin pump (especially the newer ones that communicate directly with the CGM) you might want to investigate them as my comfort level has gone up tremendously because of it.

As far as food, get a free month subscription to a food tracking app.  We are using Lose It and with the subscription she can track her macros.  It won't have all foods offline (without Wi-Fi if you don’t buy it) but seems to have a lot.  We also bought the Calorie King book as a backup for carb macros.  It won't be perfect but better than random swags.

As far as the Access Deck they were good for a Sharps container and allowance to bring on juice but did not find much other value in them.  Their solution was to look for the no-sugar added items, which may work for T2D but as you know T1D is very different.
