I think Chops is usually more a romantic setting-mostly couples.
-
Yes-love my free drinks for us that don't do the drink packages
-
One thing to think of for a Jan. cruise-there is less daylight in a winter cruise than summer. It was dark by 6 pm on our Dec. cruise in the Caribbean. Less time to sit outside on the balcony, unless you like sitting in the dark.
-
ALWAYS TAKE A SWEATER- it is always cold at the ice show and other shows-where do you live? It will be very hot outside in August-might be a shock to you if you normally live in a cold area.
-
Stay at the port-fun to see all the future cruisers out and about-everyone is in Vacation mode and so excited-fun town-good places to eat-swim in ocean-shop-we only live 41/2 hours away-but we drive down early and stay in a hotel to start our vacation early!
-
I think your husband would like a boardwalk room-as long as you get one as close to the end (ocean) as possible-best of both worlds. I want to see the ocean-but he finds the regular ocean view balcony-BORING-his words-not mine. He really enjoyed the boardwalk room on Oasis-we had 12725. We are trying the 10th deck next year-got one of the end rooms-so excited-- we did MTD-also did Sabor-nice for a change-on Freedom-we did the BOGO-will do again if available-great deal!- ENJOY.
-
I do not usually do any packages-but I like sales- we usually do BOGO dining-love it! A really good deal- for us.
-
I agree-the price has gone up-but so has travel. We spent the weekend in Fl-rooms at a safe-decent motel=Hampton or above-over $200- view of parking lot- meals are 10-20 each person-plus tip, drinks, etc. So-for us-cruises are still a good deal- AND NO CELL PHONES- so my husband can relax-guilt free-PRICELESS!

THANKS-great review- we love Oasis-sailing for 3rd time on her 2018-great idea for duffel bag for shoes! Going to do that next time, also. Do you remember the price for St. Martin excursion-sounded like fun-thanks-Melinda

Last year-there was a weekend that ours was on sale at 25% off-was only for that weekend-we missed it since I do not look every day-heard about it on our roll call-HAVE never seen it since that low- I would book it at 20% off-just in case-we had the 20% off-so it was not a big deal- I just love a BARGAIN!:D

Eastern Itinerary usually cost more than Western on Oasis-IMO. Melinda

Thanks-I agree I-95 is a nightmare! We have stayed 3 times at Embassy on 17th St-just looking for something different-thought Deerfield might be fun-since it is closer to beach. Love me some Embassy Suites. Our cruise leaves on Sunday-would probably do A-1A to port-early-stay off interstate.
-
We always stay at FLL- Embassy Suites-17th ST. when we cruise out of FLL-we have Hilton points-so it is a free stay-we like the hotel-BUT thinking of trying a different Hilton property-we have a car-so we park at port-we get off as self assist-to get on road to go home ASAP. Anyone stay at DEERFIELD-it is closer to beach- Is it nicer than FLL?-also looking at Doubletree in FLL.We like Embassy Suites-my husband needs less sleep-likes the separate living room-to retreat as I sleep longer. Thanks-

HI- I want to make reservations for a cruise on OASIS for Dec- 2018. Our adult- 21- by then child/man might go with us ( if he can't find anything more fun to do that week, lol ). If I book for 3 people now-and pick our room-what happens-if I have to drop him off the reservation-before the 90 day payment- I want a boardwalk balcony room- near the end. If I cancel him for a 3 person room-do they change our room to a 2 person room-with a less desirable view?-thanks-Melinda

I would do an Oasis class ship-for those ages-zip-line-aqua shows-comedians. Central park and boardwalk areas are great. ENJOY!

There was no plain diet coke in either of the promenade machines-THE VERY FIRST DAY-while still in port on Freedom in Dec. 2016- Really?
-
We have had enough on our last few cruise-with just 2 in our cabin. When our son went with us- we did not. I usually take a couple of throwaway pant/shorts hangers with me-and throw them out at end. None of the hangers are padded-if that matters to you.
-
Great review- Can I ask what restaurant you went to in Cozumel for lunch? We always try a new one when we are there. Thanks- We did BOGO in December -agree about Sabor-my husbands fave! We will be back on Freedom this Dec.
-
Yes -on RCCL it is called spa menu-I think-it even has a symbol next to the health options-they always offer fish-chicken-grilled or broiled.

THE big question is-DO YOU PLAN TO DRINK UNLIMITED ALCOHOL-ALSO? that really makes me gain lots of weight. And the older you are-the harder it is to take off. I would plan to have a good time-but not pig out-if you want to try to not gain it all back. I cruised the first week in Dec. and came back and continued to "have a good time" till mid Jan. Gained 15 pounds back! Has taken me 6 weeks to lose about 10 of it.MAD at myself!
-
We were on Freedom Dec. 4th,and my husband went to use the ones on RP. The regular diet coke was out! We were still in port! Really? Saw alot of people frustrated by this- they did not get any till 2-3 days later. He had the premium drink package-or would have cancelled. Did they pick some up at our first port-GC?

We did BOGO on FREEDOM in Dec. We did Sabor on 1ST night and Chops 2nd night. Loved it -Great value for $-we thought! We each got a free drink in Sabor with it-complimentary on the 1st night they said-not sure if it offered all the time/or just that sailing.

I found my "best price" for my Dec 4th,2016 on tax free weekend in April ,2016. No tax was the lowest price I could find for an interior room. Then the price dropped about 6 weeks before sailing-and I upgraded for a balcony room-for only a $100 more total for 2 people. I booked my Dec 3rd 2017 on the WOW sail-was $100. lower than 2016 price-plan to keep checking back often to make sure-it stays a good deal. ;)

what is the current exchange rate-thanks

It makes my " small" cabin feel twice as large! My husband and I could sit outside and relax while our young son got his much needed sleep in the morning, when he was little-and a place for one of us to go-while the other was getting ready for dinner. There is not much floor space in most cabins-so the balcony was wonderful with 3-4 people in a cabin.
