At around $40 per share, that's a $4k risk. Plus you're going to pay commission on each trade. If you're regularly doing 14 day cruises, it might be worth it. But for 13 days or under, a $50 to $100 credit hardly seems worth the stock risk.
We paid about $33 a share a few years ago. We bought them online through ScottTrade for a $7 commission. We have gotten a $25 dividend each quarter on the 100 shares. I think it is a good deal even for short cruises.:)

Our suite just went down $300per person. Called Princess and got the reduction. This is the only way to get the credit. Call them tomorrow.

Hi, will be back in Santa Barbara in March 2014 on the Grand.
Looking to do a Whale Watching excursion, any thoughts on a good reputable company?
Thanks, Wanda
We are also on that cruise. We booked Condor Express for whale watching.

The fountain club soda would be included in the soda card; they also have Perrier and Pellegrino as a bar drink.
"Two cents plain" (seltzer) is not really the same thing as club soda. Close, but not the same.

I'm a 67 year old "kid". I've ordered the volcano from the kids menu. Awesome:):)

Trying to decide whether or not it's worth the effort to apply for DH and myself.
Have any of you with either TSA PreCheck or Global Entry approval been waved through without having to remove your CPAP machine and have it swabbed.
Thanks
We have Global Entry and DH always has to remove cpap for extra screening.

I always order Earl Grey and they bring me a little pot of it. I"m sure you can also order green tea.

What is a cabin crawl and a slot pull? I have been on several roll calls, attended several Meet and Greets, and have never heard of either of these activities.

Caribbean - she has everything I love: window suites, thermal spa, International Café.

Tracey's Crab Shack in Juneau. The crab legs were the size of my forearm!:):):)

Thanks for all this good information! It has been a number of years since DD graduated UCSB, so we are looking forward to being here at the end of April.
We have never done whale watching--usually were not here for the good months for that--but my husband is interested in that. Have you done this, or does anyone recommend it?
We will be in SB in mid-March and we are also interested in whale watching. What is the best company for this and what types of whales can we expect to see at that time of year?

Neither DH nor I ever drink on a cruise. When we are in a suite, we always trade-out the free mini bar set up for diet Cokes and bottled water. I like to bank my calories for dessert!:):):)

My favorite newbie sight is nautical clothing. Blue and white horizontal stripes and/or gold buttons.
I have been on nine cruises and I love to wear nautical-themed clothes

My DH had contact lens cleaning solution that you put in an activator case. The solution contained peroxide which, apparently, is an ingredient in homemade bombs! We were told that his contact lens solution tersted positive for explosives. It was confiscated and we were temporarily detained by theTSA until we were interviewed by police. Check the ingredients of all liquids. 3% or more peroxide is a No No.

Andy when we were on the Zenith we had an obstructed oceanview, obstructed with a lifeboat, so we thought we were safe from prying eyes- well we were lying our our bed watching TV (thankfully that was ALL we were doing) when we saw a reflection of a man in our TV-sure enough one of the crew was in the lifeboat out side our window doing something. That was early in our cruise, so we KNEW to close those curtains!
I hope by "doing something" you meant doing some ship-related work in the lifeboat and not "doing something" to/for himself!

Are these bangers Kosher? All I know is that's it is 10:07pm and I would really like a bagel/lox/cream cheese & a slice of tomato. Lox is now about $12.00lb. How much is it up in Pauwakee ?
Lox for $12 a pound! Lucky you. It's over $20 a pound for Nova here. (I expect it to be more for the holidays) . You really need to add a bermuda onion to your bagel/lox/creamcheese/tomato.

We were on the Sun Princess in March 1998 while they were filming the TV series "Love Boat - The Next Wave" Every day we got a letter telling us where they would be filming and how to dress if we wanted to be extras in the show. It was so much fun! We saw the whole cast - Robert Urich, Joan Severance, Phil Morris, Stacey Travis, Randy Vasquez, Corey Packer and Kyle Howard, and the guest stars - David Birney, Julie Newmar, the girl who played Winnie on the Wonder Years (I forget her name) and Lisa Ann Walters. We got friendly with Lisa Ann Walters and my husband danced with her in the disco. His screen saver is a picture of Lisa and Stacey Travis each kissing one of his cheeks. Now every time he sees Lisa in a movie or on TV, he refers to her as his girlfriend. His "girlfriend" is now one of the judges on "The Next Best Thing." She also played the dance instructor and Richard Gere's dance partner in "Shall We Dance?"
Luggage Tags Staplers
in Princess Cruises
Posted
We have several staplers at home. Doesn't everyone? We don't use them for the luggage tags. We purchased clear plastic luggage tag holders which are sized especially for the folded paper tags. They are fairly inexpensive and can be reused over and over again.
