You can't go wrong with romeinlimo. Contact them and they are always ready to give you answers quickly and coordinate the tours you want. They have gone above and beyond for our group to get the tours we wanted. We have booked with them again (for 5 tours) for October, after the fantastic service we had last fall. What a fun filled three days we had on those tours with our drivers. Those memories will last forever.

You will have a great time and learn so much more about Italy, the people, the food and the cultural than you ever dreamed possible. Hats off to Duman & Jany for such a great company.

I agree that tipping is a personal choice and I think when you receive the service you can make a better choice.

I, know that on our tours everyone tipped a bit more than they might usual as the service exceeded our expectations (there were 8 of us).

I usually tip per person and then per bag for luggage, so I think you are probably being quite fair, if it were broken down into two seperate services. You didn't say how many of you are traveling or the amount of luggage. If I can remember correctly we gave the driver 10-15 Euro for two bags and my DH and myself for airport transfer only. We tipped more on the tours as we were so pleased with the service and all the "above and beyond" things that were done for us. I am confident you will have a wonderful experience!

Poss: I have used the other company and they were "fine". I have no complaints, I just believe that RIL far exceed others in service and in thier personnel.

I have a theory in regards to the tipping: :Donce you have experienced RIL I think you may feel that a greater tip is the norm as the service is so much more than you expected. We definitely wanted to tip more, it certainly wasn't an obligation. All of us were sad to see the day end and having to say goodbye to our drivers. They became friends. I am serious when I say they made us feel like family. We are so looking forward to our trip in October!

I must throw my "2 cents in"! I love, love, love RIL!

I have used RIL a number of times and have booked five tours with them for our October trip to Italy. There will be 10 & 12 of us. I wouldn't think of using anyone else for Italy. I only wish they were in other countries as well.

We had excellent service, great drivers all very knowledgeable, accomodating and friendly. We felt as if we had new friends and family in Italy when our tours were over. The attention to detail was fantastic, and all persons went well "above & beyond" anything we expected.

We had Vinny in Florence as well, taking us to the best Gelato ever!! We had a great day. Our driver; Giovanni in Naples was great also, he took us to a restaurant for lunch that he takes his family to in Positano. Great food and wine as well as the view. We had wine and snacks where we pulled off road along the drive on the Amalfi Coast, compliments of Giovanni. He took pictures of all of us with this beautiful background. It was truely a day that none of us will forget.

Jany is by her computer 24/7 I think, as she is always so prompt in answering my many questions! They are very accomodating, Jany & Duman have put together a tour for us out of Rome to go to a Tuscan Winerey for a tour as well as for food (4 courses) and the coresponding wines for each course of the meal. This for a Sunday, as it is the only day we had left to do something and we all wanted to do this very much. There are 10 of us doing this one. I am sooo looking forward to doing this, I can hardly wait.

Sorry, I didn't mean to run on, but feel strongly about this company. They far exceed the others i have used for Italy.

I would like to comment on your question.

I have used the services of Romeinlimo several times and the drivers gave our group of 8 a great deal of information and history. They are not licesnsed guides but are very well versed in thier history and facts. The drivers usually stayed close to the car, and arranged a time for us to meet them back at the car (or we could come back to the van prior to that time if we wished). They were very knowledgeable and gave us very informative tours. I believe they are way more than just a driver for the car.

All three drivers we had in Nov-Dec were very friendly and went well "above & beyond" what was expected of them. I cannot recommend them enough. I would not consider using anyone else while visiting Italy, whether for a day or a month. We found the rates to be very reasonable (we were traveling in a group of 8 which helped). They were very adaptable to whatever we wanted to do, or where ever we wanted to go. One person in our group needed to make a stop at a pharmacy which was no problem, the driver arranged that when we stopped at the museum, their was a pharmacy just down the street, and the others went into the museum and were not inconvienced by a stop.

The resturant recommendations were very reasonably priced and excellent food and wine. We had asked for a local, casual place that the drivers might eat with thier families and that is what we got. Wonderful food, wine and service along with a view.

It was the very best experiences of a three week + long trip. I have been to Italy on four previous occassions and this trip was absolutely the best! I now feel like I have seen Italy. Thank you to Rome in Limo.
