  1. Thanks guys. That’s what I thought 👍
  2. Hi, we were given a $50.00 credit per cabin for a shore excursion. Just not sure , for a 10 day cruise, if we are entitled to $50.00 off per day? or are we limited? TYIA
  3. Hi, Can someone please explain how the shore excursion credit works? We received a discount per cabin of $50 per cabin when we booked our 10 day Med cruise. Do we get a $50 credit per cabin Per DAY so for 10 days we get $50 off each SE , per day? Not sure I understand this. TYIA
  4. I think so, I'd have to google it to see if it looks so familiar. We saw a lot of beautiful and interesting things on our first day in Barcelona.
  5. Hi. We were in Barcelona once before a day before our other med cruise. We spent some time on the hoho bus and just walking around on las Ramblas. No problem. So this cruise we decided to stay right on it so we’d be close to sights and not far from port. I searched online for hotels on las ramblas and this one came up. Very reasonably priced and nice looking. Shd be fine for one night.
  6. Thanks for your suggestions. Last time we took the Hoho bus which was fabulous but this time we’re based out a hotel. It’ll be great regardless!!
  7. Sorry if I'm on the wrong page, I'm new to this after not cruising for many many years. There used to be a site that tells you which ships and how many ships are in port when you are? Any one know how to check? THX!
  8. Hi, We're flying in a day early to Barcelona before the cruise starts on June 22, 2023. We're staying at the Arc La Rambla, on La Rambla, and since we already explored this fantastic city on our last Med cruise, we've seen most of the interesting sights when we did a HOHO tour. So my question is, what is close to our hotel? Within walking distance so once we land, and drop off our bags at the hotel, we'd like to just explore and maybe see some previously seen sights. Not sure of distance on city map to highlights. Thank you for any kind guidance!

  10. we were thinking of doing the Florence on Your Own trip too. Re description on NCL website says it drops you off near the Ponte Vecchio Bridge near St Croce Square. I really like to know how far the walk is from one point to the other. Signed, Bad knees, lol
  11. Thank you so much for this info. We’ve seen all the major sites so not really interested in formal tour. Same for Pisa. So that’s why On your own tours appealed to us. But with all that walking just to get to the sites we’ll have to rethink these options. That’s why I love the cruise critic idea. Wouldn’t sail without it.
  12. Hi, so sorry for this question but what is the big white typewriter?
  13. Hi, Don't get me wrong, we're no experts on Rome. We went with friends many, many years ago and even then I found it very difficult to walk the city. Years later, we stopped there on a cruise so we only had limited tome to sight see. We managed to get everything in between the 2 trips, but we have not been anywhere overseas since before the pandemic. I'm afraid of the walking requirements. Both hubby and I have bad knees and are a bit overweight so that's why I was asking about where we get dropped off. It sounds like if they do drop us off near the Colosseum, we'd prefer to grab a cab and take us to the Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain area. So far, that's our plan. Thx for your input!!
  14. Hi, no, this isn't our first trip to the eternal city. Twice before on a land trip and twice on a cruise . We've seen all the major sights many times and frankly are getting older and just want to wander around leisurely at our own pace. We really like the idea of being bussed into a particular place and just start walking. But I am hoping, as I've stated before, that the bus will not leave us far away from a central location. I've read that Piazza Navonna is busy but we loved it there in the past and look forward to just roaming the streets there. I was hoping someone could answer my post who has actually taken the NCL Epic "Rome on your own", shore excursion. We love the idea of the HOHO bus, taken it many times in any city we can find one, but I'd rather just relax on the bus from the port into Rome and see the city slowly. Thanks for everyone's suggestions!
  15. The info on this shore excursion says the bus from NCL will drop you off and you’re free to roam on your own. Where to they leave you? Near any sightseeing sights? Piazza Navonna maybe ?
  16. Hi! I’m so happy to hear from someone else who is sailing with us. I have been having issues with signing on and for some reason I couldn’t do anything. We’re getting a new computer next week so I’m attributing my problems with an old computer. anyway, we used to live in jackson. For 10 years but we recently moved down to North Carolina. hopefully my posts will appear and we can get a great roll call started. !!!
