  1. Two days of work and then the long drive to Miami! I can't wait!!!!

This trip is so needed. I was laid off  the day before my last cruise three years ago. A year and a half and a few steps backwards to land a job. Now two jobs later finally ready to set sail. :D:D:D

  2. Customs requires it and since I cant post a web site try googling required travel documents for minors the third item should be U>S> customs and border protection site. I know have heard a lot of folks say they were never asked but if you are and don't have it then you might get stuck not going on your cruise and I do not believe trip insurance would cover it.

while your googling your state and notary cost. In GA they can only charge you a few dollars. "The authorized fee is $2.00 for each notarial act." Many banks offer this service for free to their clients.

    Better safe then sorry!

    Safe sailing!

Ooops it looks like a bunch of folks confirmed the bank thing while I was confirming my info.

  4. My son was older but always hot the bed at 8. We played by ear his first cruise and at camp the settled down and watched movies he just stopped and fell asleep. The counselor just moved him out of the way of the others and covered him. When we checked on him he was out so we went for another hour and then picked him up and headed to the cabin. Vacation days start later then our normal 5:30 so an extra couple of hours in bed helped. Have a great cruise.

  5. So we are cruising in a few weeks. DH and I decide this will be a super casual trip. DS borrowed a sport coat from his dad to dress up for immigration day at school and had to play an immigrant from 1880-90's. He dressed up as a friends of ours from the 1940's close enough our friend was in a suit so we got close. Anyway DS came home after wearing his dads jacket and wanted one of his own so we kept our eyes open not really looking. When we started getting ready for the cruise son announces he has to have one for the cruise. Now 1 jacket 2 pairs of slacks to go with it 3 dress shirts, two ties and a fadora :cool:later I need to go shopping to bring my dress code up to his. i just think it is funny that so many parents fight with their kids to get them to dress like they are going some where other then the ball field, park or out for fast food. I guess it is all in what the see their parents do. Needless to say hubbs will be packing sport coat and suit and I dresses. I hope we don't need another garment bag.

    :o

  6. I forgot. I found the game "Left, right, center" was so handy to have. I is a dice and chip game that comes in a tube about the size of mentos package. Easy fit in a small purse I use when cruising or traveling and a great way to keep everyone entertained while waiting for anything. I whipped it out and the three of us played while waiting for boarding and the next thing I knew DS already made friends who wanted to play.

  7. My son (10) loves to cruise. We are planning his 3rd cruise for this spring. His first was when he was 6. We almost all meals together. I think once we let him eat with his new friends at camp while we went to the Chefs table. Evenings he heads to Camp and the late night parties and we have Adult time. Since he has developed a liking for comedy we will probably take him the family comedy show and or the hasbro show. Port days we go together and sea days we have in the past at his insistence taken him to camp an hour or so in the mornings and then again after lunch. Our last cruise was 3 years ago and since then he has learned to like swimming and water slides so we will probably spend more time together this year. And don't forget the putt putt. There are board games in the library and so much to do. Check out the family board lots of info there. And I can't stress enough take a mini first aid kit with you, from band aids to benadryl. Best if you get it in tablets or the melt-a-ways as they are easier to pack. If they have children's meds in the gift shop they are expensive and might not carry the brands you are use to.

Hope you all have a blast!!!!

    :D

  8. I check put the prices on my up coming cruise. Prices have dropped and I was hoping to upgrade to a balcony and get the current prices. No deal. :o They want twice the difference.

I am happy with the price we paid. I just wish I could surprise my DH with a balcony.

    Oh well happy cruising everyone.

  9. I am enjoying your review and looking forward to the rest.

I can't believe the jerks on the plane. When does an error on their part (not booking the seat the way they wanted or wait so late to book they couldn't) necessitates a solution on your part? as you put it whatever.

A couple of questions if you don't mind. Which ports did you hit and do you have copies of the funtimes?

    Thanks!

  10. When a comedian has shows 2 nights in a row are they the same material? Or when they have 2 adult shows in a night will they be about the same. I know some things might have to do with the audience reaction or participation. We love comedians and would love it if we could watch a few shows a night. Heck we would probably enjoy the same act with the different nuances the audience gives it.
