  1. UPDATE:

Thanks to all who took the time to respond!  I had originally asked because when I called & was already on hold for 40 minutes;  I left 2 messages with the PCC & never got a response; the online 'Chat' option indicated 'No Chat Agents available at this time'.  Hence, my frustration.  I went to the website yesterday after trying to get through to the PCC again & was able to cancel with a Chat agent. 🙂 She sent me a confirmation email within minutes. 🙂 Then I took the rest of the day distracting myself from my disappointment by focusing on The Bigger Picture of how lucky we are to even be in a position to have booked a cruise in the first place. We are Not all in the same boat. Some are struggling to just keep their heads above water.  Thank you again.

  2. " When you refer to the "NCL agent" you booked with no longer being there, do you mean a PCC?  If that person is gone, has no one else been assigned to you?"  That would be Yes, & No.

I think I will try the last email I have & see if I hear back by T48 hours. I always takes at least that long to get a response.  If not, I will 'steel' myself for the call.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response. :-)

  3. Would folks please share the method you used to cancel?  ( Our final payment date is in 1 week) We have decided to cancel our September 'dream' cruise & I cannot find how on the website even though I am very computer savvy.  The NCL agent I booked with is no longer there & no 'Chat' agents are available.  I'm trying to avoid being on hold on the phone for some lengthy time & even then, having to do this verbally.  I'd like to have a paper trail & not get choked up on the phone with a stranger.  Thanks so much.

On May 5, we cancelled an October cruise.  Two Cruise Next certs that we'd applied to the sailing were restored to my Latitudes account almost immediately, but we still haven't received a refund of our monetary deposit.  Since reading this thread, I've asked my PCC to look into the status of the refund.

  5. Thank you to fstuff1 and EscapeFromConneticut for the helpful information & associated links you have posted re NCL & "cold layup".  After investigating these links and the term  "cold layup" itself, I found myself at the site for 'Cruise Industry News' with many helpful articles. As I scrolled down the list of articles, I saw this from a posting from yesterday, April 27, 2020, entitled 'When Norwegian Cruise Lines May return to Service: "A look at the expected first sailing of each Norwegian Cruise Line ship as the cruise industry gets back into service (all information is subject to change due to the COVID-19 crisis)"

  6. CardFanDubG Thank you for this Wonderful post!  It is one of the best reviews I have ever seen!  It is well-written, to the point & includes the important information folks are always asking about. The additional picture & PDF file(s) put this review over the top. We are traveling in the end of September & your review is most helpful.

ps: I have grandchildren living near Bowling Green KY & plan on visiting next spring.

Thank you for the link. I enjoyed her blog. She also has a page on Ketchikan.

I see that we are nearly neighbors! We live in So. Mission Viejo, and...we are going to Alaska on the Jewel 1 month after you!

I really look forward to hearing about your experience.  🙂

We get extra OBC from our TA as well and always book the Haven.  We seem to book in April and November which are usually longer and in Europe or Asia, so we want the cabin we want and pay for it.

On a side note, we are booked for two 2020 cruises and I saw the 20% off promo yesterday so I called my TA.  On one of the trips we got a $4000 per cabin savings and on the other almost $3000.   It's worth continuing to check the prices when you book this far out, so that taught me a lesson to do that from now on.  Makes the Haven not quite so pricey for the 16 and 21 day trips we have planned.

Hello, We are looking at a Europe cruise for next fall & would like a Haven. I'm wondering where you saw the 20% off promo. ??

We just booked this inside room and realized there was an empty space next to it. Does anyone know what it is thats there? Is it a crew member elevator or something? We're worried it might be noisy now. Should we switch our room? There are other ones still available

There is a Facebook page for NCL Latitudes members & a woman posted yesterday about a noise issue at night in a similar cabin. Other group members confirmed your concern that the 'empty spaces' are indeed crew access.

  10. My husband & I will be staying there for our cruise at the end of September. I frequently need to walk with a cane due to arthritis if I'm walking more than a couple of blocks. I've arranged for wheelchair assistance to get to the ship itself but I'm wondering how far I actually need to walk after exiting the Pan until I get to baggage drop-off point for the ship. Yes, I know the hotel will deliver our luggage however, that is likely where I will meet the wheelchair. Thanks.

Called tonight,  for $431 got inside to balcony, $50 more on board credit, meal package, 250 min internet, and 50 shore excursion credit.  I think its a great deal.  Just called and said I want to pay to upgrade.  I'm very happy.

Hello! Is there a particular number that you called? Our last cruise was 3 years ago and, at that time, several posts suggested a specific number. I used it & was successful 🙂 There were also suggestions as to how far out from sail date to call.

    Thanks.

  12. We stayed in an Owners Suite the first week of August. We had Ronald as our butler and Karen was the concierge. Very impressed with both.

We just upgraded to the Haven for 9/27 12-day & it will be our 1st time there, although we have stayed in suites before on other ships. We want to be respectful of the service given by the butler & concierge & would appreciate tipping info. Thanks so much
