I just logged into my account and see the disclaimer. I purchased $3000 for my 12 day Epic trip in March. If they have canceled my OBC, where is my $$? I just checked my CC. They should have refunded at the time they canceled my purchase! I sure don't want to have to deal with having them return my $ but if I don't have the OBC before my trip, I could use that extra $2000 for my holiday!

I woner if there is one particulare ship that is enforcing this $1000 max or if it is all ships? It still seems that there should be more reports of cancelations if this is an actual change in policy.

I booked tuscany bus. The one i chose includes a quick stop in Pisa , but they have direct to Florence. The departure point is where you are dropped from the port shuttle. I pre booked on line and the price is pretty reasonable.

I wonder why they are waiting to so close to departure to inform people of this? I like many of you, will not be home to receive the call if it comes. Do they send an email too. I will not be very please if I get on the boat only to be informed because I missed the call!

I will still be greatful for $1000 at a favourable rate, however, not pleased if I too get canceled. Especially since NCL has had the benefit of my $ for months that they are making money off of!

Have any of you Canadians had the experience of having all but $1000 of the cabins OBC refunded? I read someone here had that happen but I am not seeing it as consistent. We have $3000 already for our upcoming Epic cruise. I am hoping that they leave me alone. I was planning on buying more but I don't want to get greedy and be flagged by NCL:)

We will be onboard the Epic over Easter. My question is, do they do anything Easterish, ie eggs for the kids, easter dinner, etc..? My kids are already prepared since they know Rabbits can't swim?:) Just if anyone can let me know what to expect, it would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, i have a question about the bunkbeds on the Epic. We will be in a family balcony room in March and was wondering if there are bed rails on the bunks to prevent the kids from falling out? If they are not attached, are there any available onboard?

I will be on the Epic in March and was wondering if my kids will be able to use the waterslides on their sea days? I know the weather can be chilly in the winter on the Med, so if anyone can answer I would greatly appreciate.

***OBC UPDATE***

 

I just logged into MyNCL and was able to purchase an additional $6000 OBC on-line line in $1000 increments with no cap or maximum. I am now understanding why my PCC hadn't heard of a hard cap for pre purchasing OBC. Everything worked fine for me today. Another in the long list of NCL websites glitches......hmmmm??? :confused:

 

In any case, I have been able to purchase more than I was before. Those that hit the $1000 cap before may want to try again. ;)

could you tell me how many people were in your cabin and how long the cruise length? This doesn't sound promising. We are 4 people on a 12 day cruise so 20 bucks a day won't go very far!

Does anyone have any reliable information about the caps on the OBC pre purchase amounts? The people who mention $1000 per person, how long was the length of your cruise? It seems odd that they would have an set cap regardless of the length of the cruise. That would significantly lower the daily spending averages for a 5 day cruise vs 12 days. I guess I should just pre buy all the credits I need before all the PCC's are aware of the change of practise.

Hi, I m sorry for asking such a newbie question, but here goes? I would like to know how long I have to pre pay my OBC? Do I have until my final payment is due or do I have until closer to the start my cruise? I am pre paying with the favorable rate they gave on Canadian. I would I lose that once I board and pay anything extra with my CC. I just want to make sure I don't miss out.

My question is, if I prepay my DSC prior to my trip and have a service issue, what are the chances of having my DSC adjusted? The only reason I ask is because as these charges increase, I really question how they can justify almost $100 CAD daily ( 2 small kids and 2 adults) when I will hardly be on the boat. I am going on a Med cruise next year for 12 days. These charges seem rather steep now! I am not looking to pay less in the DSC, I only want to know if that I am covered in the event of dissatisfaction?

I booked about 1 month ago and the rate was $1.11. The US to CAN exchange rate is pretty much the same as it is now as it was at the time I booked. I would expect a similar rate.

I understand that there are bus companies in the centre of town that sell trips to Pisa or Florence that are timed to get you back to the boat in time. I was wondering if you know of any that do a quick stop in Pisa on route to Florence or if there are busses in Pisa that go to Florence? We have one day and I don't want much time in Pisa but, I think my kids will want to see it. If anyone can offer any information about using the bus I mentioned,that would be very helpful.

As a fellow Canadian. I just booked the Epic on the Med for next year. I would like to over estimate how much I might need and prepay before departure. If I don't use the whole lot, can I cash out while on board or do I get a refund after the cruise? I saw someone mentioned they would also pull out spending $. I am wondering how that can be done? I would appreciate any tips you experts have to keep the exchange down. It's a killer right now!

I am sorry, but failed to mention that I am Canadian and with my booking today received a favorable conversion rate that is only valid until I board. That being said, I need pre purchase my credits through my NCL online account in advance of departure to get the rate that is offered currently.

So, I was thinking if I bought $1000 worth of credits and only used $500, do I get cash back or do they refund my CC? How does that work?

And to all, yes, i would be buying on a points earning card:)
