Aida ships have a deck for nude sunbathing. It has nothing to do with swingers or 'debauchery'. I haven't been on any of their ships; just know  about it from our favorite cameraman ship tester. Aida has many fans in the German speaking market, might not be everyone's cup of tea. Mid price cruises.

I thought I had mentioned Aida earlier, but it was on a similar forum topic. The only problem is that you really need to know German to go on Aida and interact with anyone and we don't.

While in the realm of possibility, British lines tend to be in the milder side of things (compared to American or continental European counter parts). That having been said, Mr. Branson is a well known character and no stranger to debauchery, so wouldn't be surprised if VV offered a clothes-optional area of the ship.

If the did offer a C/O area that might be enough to give them a try, although if they go with upscale pricing then they won’t be any cheaper than the nude cruises. Otherwise, we finally made diamond on RCCL, so we will probably stay with them.

Possibly Virgin Voyages? Cannot confirm, only speculating!

Their ships are 18+ so a topless deck might be a possibility, but they have not made any statements that would make me think that’s in their plans.

As far as the OBC goes.  It has been happening for awhile now that if you have a C&A balcony discount that discount is reduced by the amount of OBC that you receive from the WOW sale.

We, also, no longer use the MDR and have most of our dinners in the Windjammer. I was on Adventure two weeks ago and I have no complaints about the quality of the food. My issue was that there was very little variation from night to night.

We just booked during the WOW sale and saw the opposite. Our C&A balcony discount was applied and then deducted from the OBC amount. I'm happier that way anyway. Why give them extra money so they can give it back as OBC.

  5. We were on a cruise and were sitting on our balcony working on our all over tan. The woman in the adjoining cabin leaned around the divider and said, "Hello neigh.....oops, sorry." Saw her a few days later. She came over to apologize. Asked her for what.

As to nude cruises. They're just too expensive; we're retirees living on a fixed income. We'll stick to our local clothing optional beach - Blind Creek Beach on South Hutchinson Island Florida and a balcony on a cruise.

Sounds like you had a reasonable neighbor. You can’t always count on a reasonable neighbor. A true prude would make it their business to get ship’s security involved.

Hear you on the expense, and it’s getting worse. We were going to skip next year’s cruise and go to Club Orient. Irma killed that idea. Hopefully it will be an option again in 2020.

  6. Just returned from our second cruise on the Pride. FANTASTIC cruise! Excellent staff and service. I cannot find words to say how good the service was!

I have been wowed for the second time in a row. Will absolutely return!

Now my question is....is the staff on all other Carnival ships as nice as the Pride's? Will I be disappointed on the Magic or the Breeze?

The Pride is our favorite Carnival ship, too. We've been on it 3 times so far. Our cruise director from last year's sailing (Steve Knisley) will be on Victory next week for our next cruise.

  7. In April 2017 the epic had signs up saying that clothing must be worn on the freestyle deck

That's their problem. If they don't want to see it, they shouldn't be a Peeping Tom.

Kind of defeats the term freestyle deck. Really wish the prudes would stop harassing people.

That's why we've moved more and more to just going on nude cruises. The freestyle deck is any deck numbered between 1 and 14. The prudes wouldn't even know where to book one.

  8. Very leary of taking a cruise during hurricane season. One of our daughters wound up spending time in Port Canaveral & going to Disney and to Key West in place of the islands. Another daughter had her cruise extended because they couldn't return to port because of huricane Francis in 2004. Played havoc with their airline res. We find that the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas are the least expensive and generally fewer kids.

We go in September for our anniversary. Right after Labor Day has less kids as well. We’ve had a few hurricane-related changes to itineraries, but just go with the flow. The worst was a Boston to Bermuda that became Boston to Canada. PEI was already getting chilly by September!

  9. We're booking a cruise on the Oasis for 12/18. Stops at Saint Martin. The nude cruises are just too expensive. We're retired living on a fixed income so e cruise only once a year. Using out time share points we get a balcony for about $700 for two.

Oasis is our ship next September as well! The nude cruises are expensive, but we go from balcony on regular cruises to the cheapest interior on the nude cruises to keep the cost fairly close (comparing full price on each). We have gotten to know many of the nude cruisers, so it is fun to catch up with them once a year.

  10. We always take a cruise that stops at Saint Martin. Our cruise next week had Saint Martin replaced with Antigua due to the storms. Hope Saint Martin and Club Orient are up and running soon. Hopefully by our next cruise it will be. Meanwhile it's off to Blind Creek Beach - a great clothing optional beach located on A1A between Fort Pierce & JensenBeach Florida. We go a few times a week.

We have a cruise scheduled to stop in St. Martin next September. Hopefully things will be somewhat back to normal by then. Club Orient has rebuilt and reopened the Perch bar and has chair and umbrella rentals to start generating some cash flow, but all of their hotel units and probably the Papagayo restaurant will have to be rebuilt. Also, most of the buildings right along the beach (including the new stores next to Pedros) are gone. We were planning to go in the spring of 2019, but it seems like it could be at least a two year rebuild, so we are going to book the 2019 nude cruise instead and hope for a return in 2020.

  11. Select Norwegian ships do have clothing optional/full nude decks. This depends on the ship deck plans though. I know the Epic does since we were fully nude on it in March. The Jewel appears to have one, but being a Japan/Russia/Alaska tour I somehow expect no one, including us, will be using it nude.

On the Epic the deck was not marked off at all and had no loungers. I grabbed two loungers and took them up our first day out. A few people came on deck and left. Our second day at sea another couple were using the loungers that we brought up, so we brought up two more. There was a min-bar right at the bottom of the stairs and when I went down to get drinks the bartender told me that some lady had complained we were nude up there, he said don't worry about it and just make sure we were dressed when we came down. Other than the second couple no one else used the deck during the entire cruise.

We went RCCL for our Greek cruise this September, but if we do the Western Med we should look at the Epic. No nude deck at all on RCCL (at least on the Jewel of the Seas), although there were a couple of nude beaches in Greece that we went to. We already do a nude cruise in the Caribbean every February, but I assume that's where the Epic was in March? I've heard that the ships are more likely to have a nude deck when in in the Med, so it is good to hear they had it in the Caribbean, too.

  12. Don't know of any that still have a topless (titty deck). Since the instalation of water slides (they're higher than the top deck) they've done away with them.

A suggestion - if you're cruising out of one of the ports on Florida's east coast, why not leave a day or two early and visit one of the clothing optional beaches. There is a website from the state of Florida (visitflorida.com) - go "beaches" and scroll down and you'll find "nude". Click on it.

A great idea! As is choosing a cruise with stops in ports with nude beaches. St. Martin is a popular stop for Eastern Caribbean cruises and has several nude beaches (mostly on the French side). Martinique and St. Barths are less popular stops but also have nude beaches. European cruises usually have stops in Spain, France, or Greece and all of these have nude beaches as well.

Your profile mentions being an LGBT cruiser. If you go on an LGBT cruise, while nudity won't be the focus there will be a good chance of having a nude area up on the sun deck. This might be a good way to introduce your partner to the idea. We've met LGBT cruisers on our clothing optional cruises and they did mention that. And remember, the clothing optional cruises are just that: clothing is optional. You don't HAVE to be nude on those cruises. And they are on "mainstream cruise lines and ships".

  13. Does anyone know if any mainstream cruise lines or ships have a clothing optional area? I'm not asking about a nude charter or completely nude cruise, but a "regular" cruise that allows nudity on a secluded deck of the ship. I'd never get my partner on a nude cruise, but I do like enjoying a little naked time occasionally when we're on vacation, and wondering if such an animal exists. Thanks!

Back on reply #56 I mentioned that other threads here on CC make it sound like Norwegian MIGHT still have a topless deck. Aida has an FKK (fully nude) deck, but if you don't speak German that might not be a good option.

  14. OOPS....me either, I just did a search for Swinger Cruise. It is Oct 3-7 from LA on the NCL Pearl. I saw several results so looks like it is being sold by multiple vendors.

We will probably never end up on one of those couples cruises. Mrs. Cruiser wouldn't like the swinging part, even though we wouldn't join in, and I wouldn't like the limits on when/where you can be nude (just up by the pool during the day). On the true nude cruises we go on, if the ship is not in port and you are not in the main dining room, you can be nude anywhere you want 24/7. And for a thread titled "Nude Cruises", that is about as close of a match as possible!

  15. Poppy42; I see that you've done Club Orient. I've never stayed there but have visited to beach many times when I get to St. Maarten. How did you like the place? Clean rooms? Thanks. I've been thinking of doing a week there myself in the near future.

Came to this thread to see about the possibility of an FKK deck on RCCL Jewel of the Seas while on our Greek Island cruise in September, but I can certainly recommend Club Orient. Its actually the only place we've ever stayed when in St. Martin. Everything is clean and rather than a central building, there are small chalet buildings that you stay in. They are arranged in circles so you can say hi to your neighbors. We've always stayed in the mini suites which have two rentals in each building. The entire nude portion of Orient Beach fronts their property.

  16. How expensive is this cruise compared to a "regular" cruise? Are drink packages available as they usually are? Thanks!

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

They are more expensive than regular cruises we have been on, but we used to go in September, which is low season in the Caribbean due to hurricanes, and these are in February, which is peak season in the Caribbean. We also used to do 7 night cruises, and these are usually 9 or 10 days. We probably spend the same per night per person for an inside cabin that we would pay for a balcony on a regular cruise. Drink packages have been available on them, except for this year's. It is up to the cruise line, and Carnival must have decided not to offer them this time. Since next year is Carnival again, we will see if they offer the drink packages.

I was afraid of that. I can't vacation in the first 8-10 days of a month and these seem to always fall in that time [emoji22]. Thank you for answering

They used to be closer to the middle of the month, since we remember Valentine's Day dances being popular. This year's and next year's seem to be the first ones to go earlier. We got to watch the Patriots win the Super Bowl this year, so it was worth going a little earlier in the month!

  17. Bethtex.....on which ship is the ABC cruise

  18. we just booked our first nude cruise with Bare Necessities. we have never gone nude, except one time at a spa in Santa Fe. Hubby very comfortable with the idea; I am more reluctant. I like the idea it is "clothing optional" and feel more comfortable I can ease into it, and will probably be other first-timers there. Will look for some nice sheer coverups and I have a sarong I can tie a lot of ways for more or less coverage.

    Any advice for first-timers?

We've been on three of their cruises and are going again next February. There should be lots of first-timers there as well. Mrs. Cruiser wears lots of sheer sarongs, so you won't be alone in not going nude. The best part of these cruises is that everyone has a positive attitude... very few of the 'complain about everything' types on these cruises. I would suggest finding the roll-call for the cruise here on CC, as well as joining BN's own forums (it is a private forum, but you will get an invitation now that you are booked). They always have advice for new cruisers threads for every cruise. I think there is already one for the ABCs cruise in February, if that is the one you have booked.

  19. Heading out once again on a RC cruise but not nude. Oh well. Over to Orient Beach once again for a nice afternoon. Might there be anymore friends to accompany us?

Our next RCCL cruise is to the Greek Islands, so not nude, although Europe isn't as nude-phobic on regular beaches. In 2018 we might try an Oasis class ship... we will have to find a cruise that stops in St. Martin.

  20. We leave Sunday and I'll let you know how our one day on St. Maarten went.

Say hi to Willie at the Perch bar if you make it to Orient.

  21. Our first cruise on Carnival there was a topless deck as well. I've read elsewhere here on CC that Norwegian might be the last US-based line with something like this. Aida has an FKK deck, but if you don't speak German that might not be a good option.
