  1. I had always thought the spa was included in the cruise price except for massages, facials, or other services. But reading I can see I am wrong. So you need a spa pass to work out, use the sauna or steam room? I guess my question is what can you do while sailing without a spa pass versus with one?

  2. While on the Legend we saw other guests yelling and berating our server. We went to the maitre d and explained they were jerks the entire time and that our server did a fine job handling these difficult guests. The assistant was there when we did this and that night when we returned to our cabin there was a beautiful tray of chocolate covered strawberries and other treats from the specialty shop and a note of appreciation.

  3. I think my kids loved cruising even more than I did which is saying something. They enjoyed the same things we did; the food, exploring the ports, dancing on deck, watching the ice carving, the kids programs of course which are a lot more than people imagine since they planned midnight parties, scavenger hunts and other fun things to do. They also loved just relaxing on the balcony, sleeping like babies as the ship rocked, and meeting up with their friends to play basketball or mini golf. It was the perfect mix of family time an adult time, and as the Mom I can certainly say it was my most relaxed vacation since I didn't have to worry about feeding everyone, keeping the kids entertained as we traveled, or herding them. It was a great experience for the kids and us. I think the only way it would be an issue is if being drunk all vacation is the goal and in that case I wouldn't bring them. We were easily able to carve out alone time, just the two of us every day when the kids were doing their own thing even when we all shared a cabin. It just meant being spontaneous which was even more fun.

  4. I see that Valor has 2 dining rooms, the Washington, and the Lincoln. We discovered on the Legend that something about AFT upset my husbands stomach and he couldn't enjoy dinner in the Aft dining room without feeling sick, but otherwise we all loved cruising.

We enjoy anytime dining and want to make sure that we can get into the Lincoln Dining Room since it is midship. That way we wont have to eat at the buffet and Steakhouse so often. How does Carnival assign people to each dining room? Is there a way to get the Lincoln Dining room each time? We don't even mind an extra wait, if need be. Thanks in Advance

PS.....Thank Goodness I didn't book the Aft balcony like I wanted, or he probably wouldn't ever cruise again.

  5. We renewed our vows and had a wonderful day at Nachi. But each morning they rake the beach because it does get dirty overnight. I would imagine that if they were short staffed it might be dirty. We also would never go without swimming shoes to any of these beaches. One of my kids brought a used medical shot with needle out of the water. Again this could happen on any of the beaches and I do not blame Nachi since they have no control what gets thrown in the water from who knows where.

The food was really good and the service beyond expectations.

This trip we are hitting Mr. Sanchos because we have 2 teens with us and I prefer to pay for the water park then all the extras at other places.

I believe a while back you asked me to let you know how room 8232 was.....(if this wasnt you, sorry)

8232 was good. You dont back up to the laundry room like our TA said, instead you back up to the ice machine area for the stewards. BUT, the machine sits back in their room quite a ways so we never heard it. The only thing we did hear was the people's kids next door on the other side.

With the extended balcony, we only got 2 chairs for this long balcony. We were supposed to have 2 lounge chairs as well but the steward said they were a fire hazzard so they had to take them out.....but the people next to us had them. So the balcony was very roomy but we never made it to the other end because there was nothing down there. Hope you get some lounge chairs when you go. (if not, demand them. we asked but were told no)

Also, I see you still have a ways till your legend cruise and I know the crew switch out every six months.....so I dont know if you will have our steward but let me tell you a few things about him: (This is if you have him) His name is Anthony. The first thing he will tell you are his hours. So this was a hint not to call him between 12:30 and 5:30. Our toilet broke twice. (not from us, just on its own) The second time it took Anthony an hour and a half to call us back and by then it was 5:30 (his "on" time)

We only saw him 3 times and he never spoke unless we spoke to him.

Hopefully you will get someone else.

We found this whole ship to be a "so-so" on our list. I havent had the time to write a review yet, but it will come soon and I will list everything.....good and bad.

Overall, make the most of it like we did. :)

Wow....he told you his hours. I am afraid that if my toilet broke down I would have to call the Pursers desk and explain that since it is outside of the Stewards hours they need to send someone.....NOW. I have never heard such a thing and I am sorry that was your experience. Has anyone else had a steward give them their hours?
