  1. Whether or not you got caught or not is not the issue. It's ILLEGAL to bring food into the country. Especially bread, meat and fresh fruit.

DW and I had a good chuckle when debarking in Cozumel. A Carnival employee was telling everyone they could not take food or fruits off the boat. Cocaine Yes, banana's No.

    :D

  2. They served no shots at either Playa Mia or Mr. Sanchos. The real reason why I don't know, but I guess it's because they water down their alcohol. You could easily detect a watered down tequila shot if they gave it to you. Heck, Playa Mia even had separate bars for pay as you go and AI customers. My guess is to separate the watered down alcohol from the non-watered down versions.

I need to do an undercover sting on these AI resorts.lol

If you go to Progresso the street places serve you FREE shots of Tequila. I think they Tequilaed down their water.

    :D

  3. Guys, you're dropping over a grand on a cruise, another $500 on booze, you should be able to grab a $45 sport coat at the Wal-Mart. A t-shirt boasting "Good story Babe, now go make me a sammich" doesn't quite cut it.

I disagree, each cruise I drop $45 at Wal-Mart for a brand new pair of bib overalls and a brand new t-shirt boasting " Shootin deers and drinkin beers is how I roll ".

I want to make sure I look good for formal night.

  4. Yes they are. CCL newer ship are not that much smaller then NCL new ships. Just NCL has a lot more going on on there ships. 2.0 upgrades are a joke. Hamburger with different toppings WOW. Another bar WOW. There prices are lower than the other cruise lines YES it's a cruise YES are you getting less YES. I know that ok with some prople. But still the facts are the facts. They are falling behind. Like the sunshine. Reduce a 20 year old ship and used for another 20 years. You don't do that to your car. But that can do it with there ships.

If that is what I was looking for I'd go to Vegas. Oh wait that's why I don't go to Vegas and go to Reno instead.

There are lot more good old things then there are good new things.

  5. I've gotten an email survey for every cruise I've taken so far. (and those have only been over the past 2 years, so it's hardly a thing of the past)

I like it better when the CD told me Carnival wanted to exceed my expectations. Call me old fashioned.

    E-mail?

  6. It's not the size of the ship, it's the motion of the ocean!

By golly I think you have it.

It was not all that long ago Carnival wanted not to meet expectations they wanted to surpass them. Carnival even wanted to hear back from cruisers and gave out feed back forms. When was the last time you saw one of those forms?

For those who have cruised with Carnival for the past 8 + years it ain't what it use to be. They keep doing their best to squeeze more and more money from the customers.

  7. As you've said, the bread placed in a basket on your table must be fresh daily.

Carnival must have a baking secret. Only time I ever eat any bread products that have a 3 or 4 day old consistancy on the day they are baked is on a Carnival ship.

That can not be an easy thing to do.

  8. I usally request Happy Birthday and they will sing that.

However when the wait staff sings I don't think they know either Alice's Restaurant or In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.

Last cruise the Triumph had some ole drugged out hippie with a guitar. He did some Pink Floyd. I gave him 20 bucks and told him if Carnival found out he was doing Pink Floyd they would throw him overboard.

  9. We will be on the Ruby Princess stopping in Cozumel on Easter Sunday. What will be open? I believe the Ruby is the only ship in port that day.

Enjoy the island. Sunday's are normally the only day ships don't visit Cozumel and it's the island's day off.

Whatever is open is what the locals will be doing. Two years ago my boss was on Cozumel on a Sunday and he enjoyed it because there were no crowds from cruise ships.

One thing, a lot of the locals vist the " far " side of island on Sunday's.

  10. Does anyone know what resort you go to when you book the $45.00 excursion off the ship?

Was thinking about booking the Corona Beach Excursion from Carnival.....But saw it is right there by the pier....

    Appreciate any feedback!!

The Reef Club was AI at $45 but I think Autoprogresso has stopped that one (at least that is what I've heard). Carnival still offers is at $70 (I think).

For $35, Autoprogresso will take you to Techotel. Look down a bit for the thread with the photo review. It covers it well.
