Enjoy your cruise.  I will tell you, the Sunday, Monday, Tuesday protocol is somewhat stressful.  So far we've cruised once with the 3 day testing timeline and once with the 2 day.  The latter wasn't much fun.  But ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Yeah I spent my morning kinda freaking out but I saw the list from John Heald others saying they have used the ID Now one and your reply has helped so thank you! Sunday is tough our UW does rapid but only mon-fri so that leaves Walgreens  and don’t wanna spend $100 for all of  us to do it at home if we don’t have too.  So thank you!  We’re 13 days out!

The ID Now test is perfectly fine.  And as a vaccinated person, you are held to the 2 day standard.  Boarding Tuesday; testing no earlier than Sunday.

Thank you!!  I can relax now lol.. and just wait for slots to open up for the day we need to get tested.  Appreciate the response.

That last line says that rapid antigen and rapid PCR are acceptable.  That line doesn't that only rapid antigen or rapid PCR test are acceptable.

Additionally, John Heald has responded that the ID Now test was acceptable.

where did you see he said they were accepted?  we can get the rapid diagnostic test(ID now)  or the PCR at our walgreens but we have to get tested on a sunday as we fly out on a monday so I would prefer to get the ID now as it gets results faster.  we are vaccinated and my personal vacation planner isn't letting me know if the ID now is acceptable so need more confirmation as the 72 hr window on a weekend test and a tuesday morning boarding time worries me.  lol

If you’re into zip lining, and it’s open (pandemic and all), they have a fun one there. It would be an independent one, not from the ship. If you want to go shopping, the market around La Bufadora is fun.

we do love ziplining so will check that out and that market sounds fun as well.  thanks for the suggestions will check them all out!!

  5. I'm happy with you all helping me get more info on Cabo.. now I have a few questions on Ensenada.  We will have our adult kids with.. 18 and 20.  We were thinking of doing the resort excursion instead of the atv/dune buggy excursion since our kids won't be able to drive them.   Is the resort a good option as I heard you get dropped off and can shop after?   We are coming in on the Carnival Miracle.  Any other suggestions?   Thank you!!

I would vote for Medano Beach as well.  Instead of walking, I might consider talking a water taxi to the beach with a first stop at the Arch to take some pictures.  One can walk back to the tender port or take a taxi.

My alternative for non-beach goers would be to simply wander through the tourist part of town and get a drink at a place like Cabo Wabo.  Walking along the marina could fit into this as well.

Ok thanks we will try and take the water taxi - does it make a stop at the arch on the way? Thanks!  Also how do we find out how much jet skis cost? I’ll check google but anyone rented them from that beach before?

And there are beaches walking distance from where the tender docks (I don't have more info, though, we did a pirate ship whale watching excursion).  And you can see the arch from anywhere in the harbor.  There is a decent market to shop right where the tender docks, and there are loads of places to eat.

Ok thank you for all of the info - I did see it was a tender port so we might just walk to the beach and then check out close shopping and food like you said.  Appreciate it! Want to save our excursion  for Ensenada.

  8. So coming in on the carnival miracle - don’t really want to do a paid excursion for this stop.  I want to see the arch(from a distance is fine) .. do some swimming and shopping.. yummy food for lunch.  I can’t do the cruises out to the arch I get sea sick on smaller boats easier.  Family of 4… adult kids.  What’s the best way for us to enjoy the day?  Thank you!!

I'd pre-arrange Uber Black or Lyft Lux Black. They are able to pick you up curbside at LAX and worth the extra cost. If you use regular Lyft or Uber you have to get a shuttle bus to a separate parking lot called LAX-it (pronounced LA Exit) and then meet your car.

The lot is next to Terminal 1, so if you fly in on Southwest Airlines it is just as easy to walk next door.

Ok we are flying sun country.. I will check into the Uber black and see what the cost difference is.  Thank you!

  10. We like getting on early - and we are lucky we can. Just to start vacation early. Get lunch. People watch. Unpack. Enjoy the early buzz. Something about being on the Lido Deck on Day 1 is so much fun.

Agreed!!! It is so much fun that first day. . sail away!!! Just want to get on board and start my vacation.. even though its already started the second I leave my house :D Sunday and i'll be sailing!!! Can't wait!!

  11. We are planning on getting the social media package.. going to purchase it later today since its cheaper to buy before hand.. does anyone know since it lets you use facebook. . does it let you use any of the games that are connected to facebook? Like words with friends? Thanks! I know when I get that social package on planes that lets you just use facebook and messaging I can so wondered if on the cruise it will as well. Thanks again.

  12. I was called yesterday for the 4-night out of PC on October 8 (I think the one before the ship gets to Jacksonville) for a total of $413 (solo) or $507 for two. I have a conflict and can't go. I thought that was a great price until I saw your offer of free plus port fees/taxes.

I was able to snag a awesome rate for the Oct 8th sailing. . never taken a last min cruise like this and am super excited!! Taking my daughter on her first cruise. I got a rate of $79 plus taxes and fees so was like $168 pp.. couldn't pass that up!!

  13. Can anyone who has went here please tell me how much it costs to take a taxi or a shuttle out there and back. Is it worth seeing only for a few hours? Just looking for something to do there. . we stayed on the boat last time. Would like to do some exploring this time around. 'll have my daughter with and we love beaches.. otherwise where else is good to go while there for a short time that won't cost tons. Thanks!

  14. if we don't do a resort day pass, are there bathroom facilities at Cable beach anywhere? We did Wyndham day passes last time but from what i've been told that resort was changed or bought out.

  15. I think the Wyndham was turned into another resort (that doesn't offer passes), #10 still there.

ok are there any resorts that do that are cheap and I can take my daughter? otherwise we will do the beach close to the port. don't want breezes or anything.. we paid $15 pp back when we went.. wish Atlantis wasn't so expensive I would totally take her there. . was there years ago and had a blast. last min cruise so tight budget lol

  16. Does anyone know if the Wyndham Resort there next to Melia still offers day passes? We went back in 2014 so been a few years.. I'll be bringing my daughter there in a few weeks on a cruise and want to go back there. Also does bus 10 take you that direction as well? We did that but again its been years and I don't remember. Thank you. I just remember it was easy to get to and back and was a fun day to spend at the beach. thanks!

  17. My thoughts too. Traveling from Wisconsin to Europe is not going to easy and not cheap (unless you're traveling with miles). Perhaps you meant 14 days and not 4?

I work for an airline so flights aren't an issue - its mostly trying to pull a trip off like this in less than a year when we have a new home we are trying to remodel, and we both work, homeschool our kids, etc. . so we need a nice trip this time around and my hubs isn't a huge beach fan even though I love it!!! I've been to so many places except Europe and my hubby wants to go there so thinking of the best way to see the most in just a short time.

Also, do your homework about the Epic. Some people do not like the bathroom layout, for example.

I saw how they are laid out not a huge deal for hubby and I we can pull the curtain but weve been married for almost 15 years lol so no biggy on the layout :-)

I'm sure this 15th anniversary cruise will be a very memorable experience!

Thanks I will keep looking into longer cruises too but my husband also has to work :( so the internet is a big issue on cruise ships.. we took one back in January and it was very stressful for him because he got swamped with work that others couldn't' handle but thankfully his work paid for the internet packages because he bought alot of them. so that is another reason why its a shorter cruise to accommodate him if he had to work he isn't without decent internet for more than a few days.

  18. I'm an airline employee so flights r minimal and my husband wants to go to Italy and I want a cruise so sorta splitting it up but I haven't decided 100% yet what we should do. We will be spending nights prior in each port but yes it's a budget thing at the moment.
