  1. Sometimes the answers themselves are questionable. On Oasis back in November, I was participating in music trivia.

One of the songs played was "What a Wonderful World" by Sam Cooke. And that's what my team put on our sheet. However, the cruise staffer said the correct answer was "Don't Know Much" and any other answer would not be accepted. I know he was just reading it off a sheet, but still! So no team got that one right, d'oh!

  2. Subscribing to this thread, thanks everyone for their input.

Wife & I just upgraded to our first Grand Suite for our cruise in March on Independence to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. Never had higher than a JS and wanted to this cruise to be not like the others! :)

  3. According to the Thank You website,

"Certificates cannot be applied to existing reservations, shipboard credit, excursions or gratuities and can only be used toward new cruise bookings made directly through Royal Caribbean International. See terms and conditions for more details."

However - under the terms and conditions, among other things it states that "Certificates can be used for deposits and final payments."

Good luck whatever you decide to do!

  4. OP here - so I guess my choice of 8640 is a good one. Now I can't wait for the cruise...

Thank you all for the input...

Enjoy! And forgot one more thing - for mid-ship cabins on Deck 8, there are only staterooms on one side of the hallway. The other side is where the Central Park venues are, so no staterooms. Even *less* foot-traffic!

  5. Did you enjoy it and was it worth the money?

Yes, wife and I enjoyed it. I'm pretty sure the tour is offered on many ships, but we wanted to do it on one of the newer ones.

Of course you see many places that you wouldn't normally see. Besides the tour guide, there was a security guard with us. He even had to wand everyone at the beginning.

My opinion is if you've been on a lot of cruises and can fully appreciate what happens behind-the-scenes, it is definitely worth the money to do once. We agreed that we don't need to pay $150 to take the tour again though.

  6. We just came off the Oasis on Saturday and had JS 8242, it was on the hump. Love the cabin and location, it was the nicest JS we have ever been in. It is also a connecting cabin, you can see where the door is located near the balcony. We never heard our neighbors.

Wow - we were right next door, in JS 8240 last week. The other side, because our cabin was not connected. Loved Stanley, our stateroom attendant!

Loved the balcony - since it was on the hump, it was more spacious than others. And also great that the hallway itself didn't have much "traffic". Most people just walk thru Central Park.

  7. Was browsing through my Pre-Cruise Planner and came across the All Access Tour under Onboard Activities. I was shocked to see it there because everyone has told me you can't book it until on board...Maybe this is a new feature?! :) I quickly Purchased it for myself and for my Parents Christmas Presents that me and my other Brother and Sisters are going in on. $150.00 PP on Oasis of the Seas. So Excited!

Just booked the tour online! Thanks so much for the heads-up on this. Wife and I were going to Guest Services to reserve as soon as we got on the Oasis (next week!), but now we will just head up to Park Cafe for lunch :)

  8. Got a $10 per day offer yesterday - called today - we were already booked on Explorer NYE cruise w/our Diamond balcony discount as well as a resident discount -- put on hold - came back - no problem - just show picture ID at casino cage to receive $70.

Same here with our Oasis cruise in a few weeks. Booked w/ Diamond Balcony discount and resident discount months ago, using a TA. I got a $5 per day offer, wife got $10. I called the number and told them about the Oasis booking. The women had on record the offers we received, and just told us to show picture ID at the cage.

    Very easy.
