  1. successfully used a nextcruise from 2013 and got the purchase price applied to my payment for an upcoming cruise.  however, when i looked online i didn't see the obc that i was supposed to receive applied, so i called.

the paperwork i got when i bought the nextcruise says obc will be:  $25 for 3-5 nts

                                                                                                                            $100 for 6-9 nts

                                                                                                                            $150 for 10-14 nts/$200 for 15+ nts.

however, they are telling me that all they can give me is $50 obc for an inside room on a 5-7 nt sailing, which is what their "archived records" show.  i spoke with not only the regular rep but also his supervisor, and i was on with him for quite a while.  i also asked to speak to HIS supervisor, and was told that he was as high as i could go.  i said that all i am asking for is what i was sold.  the paper where i see the obc values is actually the form that i filled out when i made the purchase (asks for stateroom # of the cruise i was on when purchasing, quantity of bookings desired, etc.), albeit a blank one that i kept for informational purposes.  the supervisor said that he is unable to give me more than $50 and that i have nothing with both my nextcruise reservation id # AND the obc values.  indeed, the confirmation letter i received says "With an Open Booking, you have now secured the ability to receive an onboard credit in the value of $25-$200 per stateroom."

anybody else ever had this problem?  advice on what to do so i can get the product i paid for?

  2. So I found an old Open Booking Confirmation that I purchased on the Allure in 2013.  I  paid $100 for it.  I've read all the paperwork I've got and just want to make sure that I'm understanding what the benefit is/why I purchased it.  I know that the program has changed to NextCruise on May 1, 2019, but I did see on Royal's website that purchases before that date will be "grandfathered in under the old program, which includes non refundable deposits but no expiration dates and only up to $100 in Onboard Credit per stateroom."  I am guessing that the value I paid goes toward the cost of my cruise when booking and then the perk is that I get OBC...is this correct?

  3. Never sailed MSC...do the newer ships have entertainment that is similar in quality to the Oasis class ships on RCL?  Our first cruise that will be alcohol-free and we are trying to make sure we can keep busy in the evenings when we would usually be at a bar.  Thanks for any help!

  4. the birth certificate i have is a photocopy that says "Certificate of Live Birth/Michigan Department of Health/Vital Records Section" at the top.  and at the bottom it says "I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct representation of the vital record facts on file with the Division for vital Records, Michigan Department of Comunity Health."  and then: "Certified by: XXX, State Registrar".

i know i need my driver's license, too, but does this satisfy all the requirements?  we've been on many cruises but always used a passport and it's out being renewed right now.

  5. I'm confused...for the 25th cruise milestone perk, which is correct:

    a) the 25% obc is calculated based on the price of the 25th cruise, to be used on a future cruise of your choise (within 2 years, i believe)

    b) you can activate the 25% obc on any cruise you choose, as long as it's after the 25th cruise (again, i think within 2 years).   eg let's say i have some cruises already booked and cruise #26 costs $1600, cruise #27 costs $1000, cruise #28 costs $2000....so i'd opt to use it on cruise #28 since it is the highest price

    thanks for your help!

  6. My husband and I like having dinner in the dining room and joining a larger table (6-8) of people we don't know so we can meet new people.  The last few years we've met with decreasing success, with the maitre d' frequently telling us there were no such tables to join.  With the new check-in procedures involving the hub app, is this going to be even more problematic?  Thanks for any input!

What country did you book?  On the US site the last FAQ does answer the question and it is no, they won't do both.

thanks for responding!  also using the US site.  just looked at the last FAQ and i don't believe it is addressing my question.  the FAQ is referring to what will happen "at the time of rebooking", not about choosing different reimbursement options right now.

We took the refund for the Seaside. Stated to expect the refund within sixty days.

did you submit one form for everyone in the booking?  or one per person?

  9. successfully submitted form to get 100% refund for my cruise.  then i filled out another form for my travelling partner (with a different email address) and it says "our system indicates that you have already submitted a request for the booking ID XXXXXX".  it doesn't make sense to me that if one person in a booking asks for a refund that they assume others on the booking want the same...although many cruisers are families, what about friends who planned to travel together and one wants the refund and the other wants the FCC?  looked at the page with "directions" (the one with the CHOOSE YOUR OPTION NOW button) and at the FAQs but found no answers.  does anybody have any guidance for me?  should i just assume that my travelling partner will also be getting the refund?

  10. i have been looking at reviews for this company, but they all seem to be for people who booked snooze&cruise hotel packages. has anyone used them for park&cruise only? we will be driving from sarasota and $27.80 for 8 nights sounds nice!

  11. we have ytd and always ask to be seated at a large (6 or more) table but have consistently found (been at least 15 cruises since we switched from late seating) that if you get there too late (8pm on...?) you may end up sitting at that table alone. soooooo now we try to get there by 7.30 latest.

  12. i am trying to contact royston...emailed twice, once through the link on his website, once separately, then i called his cell as listed on his website a few times today and it is always either busy or else it rings but no pickup (not even a chance to leave a message). first email was 5 days ago, and we leave dec 13 so i know i still have time but thought i'd hear back by now.

anybody know what i'm doing wrong?

  13. with respect to getting good "feedback" about the $2 bill, may i say that as someone who receives cash tips (i am a server), i feel that if someone was giving me a "unique" tip and they asked me how i felt about it, it would be difficult for me to respond any way except favorably...wouldn't want to seem ungrateful! as another example, people will sometimes ask me if the tip they have left is "ok", be it 5, 10, or 20%. while i would love to answer honestly, most restaurants will not let me. trust me, we prefer (regular) cash to souvenirs. ps...fyi, that little printed card telling me you want to help me find god and save my soul does not pay the bills! :)
