  1. I got the bug twice..Once on NCL s Star then on Holland s Zaandam..Whatever precautions you take..It s good for you and other passengers..However, not all passengers will be as conscientious as you..It s horrible and terrifying seeing how many passengers don t follow common sense hygiene on a cruise ship..Even knowing of the noro possibilities..

  2. we had a late flight and decided to hide out and be the last off..but, they still found us and we were off by 10 am..they really want to clear the ship of passengers asap..we had really tried to avoid the *hurry up and wait* routine..but ended up waiting around for 3 hrs for our flight..

  3. no need to complain..you plan d this cruise knowing that it was going to be during the hurricane season.. NCL can t do anything about the weather..but, they do inform people booking during this period that there is greater chance of weather related delays and changes that may occur..

and those surprised about the last minute changes..you can easily check out the weather conditions in the Bermuda area..

  4. We're onboard and want no sympathy. Other than the engine issue Connie is in great shape and we are enjoying her. Key West is a fun place and I'm sitting on my aft balcony enjoying the sights of the harbor looking towards downtown as I type this. No complaints here and have only heard one onboard.

see 2 aft cabin lights on..one must yours :)

  5. not recently..i was sitting by the pool..just enjoying the view of the ladies:D..and I noticed a small child trying to swim across the shallow pool..

trained to detect fear on the face..i certainly saw it on this child as he was about to go down a second time..yes, I jumped in and grabbed the child under his arms and pushed him to the side of the pool..*** was the parents..

dad comes running over seeing the kid crying and proceed s to chew my ass..others who witnessed the incident came to my defense..did I get a simple TY..father just turn d and walked away scolding his child..

    should we legislate stupidity?

  6. the past couple times we flew out of Miami in the afternoon..took our time debarking..even hiding out so we could spend as much time on the ship as possible..yet each time we were found and encouraged to get out!!:o

each time we were off by 10am at a very leisurely pace..and strolled into MIA well befor noon..

we, like may others are always fearful of missing our flights due to conditions out of control..and like many others were able to get to the airport in time to see many other flights leaving and wishing we were on one of them..

yet we shake our heads when we see others running around with smile less face with flights scheduled befor noon..always thinking *what if we re delayed*

chances are you ll be fine..they ll be asking if anyone has a early flight and try to get you to debark early..carry your bags off and have your boarding pass s printed ahead of time..better yet..if they have a *bags* program, use it..they ll send your luggage ahead of you, to your flight and print your boarding pass s..

  7. having done both..my preferance is *anytime* while the wife prefers

    the more traditional dining setup..

not worth arguing about..so we ll take turn s..one cruise she ll choose..the following, i ll get to choose..

not to say i won t have a good time dining with others..on the contrary i ve always enjoyed my table mates..

  8. retirement came as surprise to me..first a torn right rotator cuff..

cool, a 10mos vacation with accumalate sick leave and workmans comp.

1 month after returning i tore my left cuff ..another yr. off..this would have been my 5 major surgery to repair injuries on the job..so after a few conversation s with the SS office, i was able to qualify for benefits at 58..that was 4 yrs ago..along with 2 pensions im able to cruise pretty

freely..but, it s the wife that holds me back since she s not retiring for another 5 yrs..:(

  9. the enterprise car rental is now at the Crown Plaza..but, the hotel does

have a shuttle to the pier.

    here s a idea..

you can get pretty good deal bidding on Priceline..many of us have gotten it for less than $100..enterprise is located there as well..rent the car and do what you want..

day of cruise you can just take the shuttle to the pier..

  10. so much to see and experience..and not enough time or money..

a deliema most of are in nowadays..

since could be a once in a life time experience..id still go on the budget and rent a car from Enterprise..things are pretty spread out in LA and it could get more costly cabing it.....on debarkation day..drop the car off at

Enterprise in San Pedro and grab a shuttle to the pier..

disneyland..to big to see in one day..Universal Studio s is getting big to..might get a VIP card and move to the front of every line..

you could spend the day on Catalina..not as exciting as the nightlife..but, its a don t miss destination if your in the LA area..
