  2. my inlaws have been dealing with a jewelry store for years in STT that they love. My BIL even bought an engagement ring from them on the phone and it was everything it was cracked up to be.

I've also been dealing with a jeweler in STT for over 10 years. We're very pleased with the quality and value. We've been doing business so long they'll even send me pieces on approval.

When once questioned over why they don't advertise on the ships, our jeweler said they'd rather pass the savings on to the buyer.

  3. <snip> as all Catholic priests are bound to say Mass every day in any case wherever they are, even if they are alone.

Surprisingly enough, there have been priests traveling on most of the cruises I've been on, and they opened their daily mass to passengers and crew.

To the OP, this does not give you the certitude you need. However, what is published on the Princess web suite is not incorporated into the cruise contract. It doesn't look like you have any recourse other than to do what others have suggested and talk to your parish priest.

  4. I always order coffee and a light breakfast. I tell the butler that the bedroom doors will be closed; quietly let yourself in and leave the tray on the table. It's nice waking up to coffee waiting for me. Some butlers get it on the first try; others take some training.

We had the most awesome butler in the GV once. Quiet as a mouse, never knew that he'd come and gone until we found goodies waiting on the table... and we were sitting in the same room! (Totarem, or "Mr. T," if you're lucky enough to get him.)

  5. Mom2CrazyKids, it sounds like you've done your research. Yes, different societal norms -- not "bad," just different. Might it be stressful? Sure. It's not what we in the West are used to. It'll probably be very different than any other cruise you've ever done. But the great part about being a traveler -- as opposed to a tourist -- is opening yourself up to new experiences. You seem to have a lovely, open mind. If you do this, I hope you have a grand time, and come back and tell us all about it!
