  1. When we were on our B2B on the Valor a couple of weeks ago I noticed a HUGE change in the type of people in each sailing. The first week people were a little boring and in bed early. The second week people were out late and it was packed in every bar (except the sports bar). The sports bar was never full. Each week brings a new experience.

  2. This may be a stupid question, but do they have you walk down the aisle like a real wedding or do they just have everyone gather around? :o

When we had our onboard wedding, I had no idea what to expect. Thanks everyone for the responses. The pictures look beautiful! :)

  3. DH and I were married aboard the Carnival Destiny in 2007. Our son was only 3 at the time and didn't come because a plane ride from Minneapolis directly to San Juan would have been awfully long. We're taking him on the Sunshine next year and are thinking of renewing our wedding vows. Does anyone have experience with vow renewal? How do you sign up for and pay for it? (We honestly don't remember how we did it in the past). I searched Carnival's site and all I could find was the PDF price sheet with the the packages they offer. I'm assuming now we'd have to call. Also, how soon do we have to sign up for it? Thanks for any insight.

  4.

Embarkation - For some reason we were not allowed to get on the ship until about 3:30 pm. It created a problem, because although we could check our bags, for those bags we didn't want to check (Cameras, laptops, etc..) we had to carry them all of San Juan. It really sucked. I'm not sure why we were delayed, but I heard something about elevators. That may be true, because I've never seen a ship with so many elevators that were out of order.

We were beginning the 2nd week of the B2B and got a letter stating they were shutting down the elevators for maintenance for a few hours that day. We got off the ship as soon as we could in the morning and spent all day until 5pm in San Juan. I had no idea they didn't let anyone board until 3:30pm.

On a different note, It was an awesome cruise! :):)

  5. Another High-Jack...

I'm trying to decide whether to make reservations, but here's my question...

On the first night, the MDR is usually cruise casual because not everyone has their luggage at this time. We always have, but we've talked to a lot of people at dinner that didn't get their bags in time to change.

What is the dress code for that night?

    TIA :)

That's a good question! We're going the first night and would like to know also. But am guessing with FTTF, we'd get it in time.

  6. Here is another taste of the review I will begin as soon as I am caught up at work. This was taken during a emergency stop in Martinique to disembark a passenger who was having health issues.

Quit teasing! :p I'm anxiously awaiting your review! :)

  7. Even though you may have visited some of the islands many times, have you seen and done everything on those islands that is available? We've been to San Juan and St. Thomas several times and each time, we find something different that we haven't seen or done before.

We're doing a B2B on the Valor and this will be our 5th and 6th time in San Juan and St. Thomas. We decided to do things we've never experienced there and can't wait! There are always new things to do/learn. :)

  8. We have a reservation in the steakhouse at 7:30pm on the night of embarkation. Last time DH and I went to the steakhouse (on the Liberty in '08), dinner lasted almost 3 hours. How long does it truly last on the Valor? Will we have to leave dinner to go to the muster drill at 9:30pm if we're still eating? Thanks in advance for any help. :)

P.S. I thought I heard you get a free bottle of wine if you dine the night of embarkation. Is that true?

  9. We're going on a B2B Valor cruise in March and will visit Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, and St. Maarten. DH wants to do some snorkeling. Problem is, I cannot swim. :o Is there an excursion on any of those islands where we could go snorkeling that someone like me could also partake in? Thanks for any help. :)
