  1. There is a problem with getting the virus even though you don't get very badly affected. If you catch the virus in the Caribbean, South America and you go back home. If where you live has that particular type of mosquitoes then if they bite you they then get the virus. This type of mosquito are already in Florida and other southern states. That's how it can spread. If where you live doesn't have that type mosquitoes not of a problem

  2. We will be disembarking the Royal Princess in Barcelona in May and are trying to determine the easiest ( not necessarily cheapest) way to reach our hotel near the top of La Rambla.

Are taxis and/or private transport providers allowed on the pier within walking distance from the ship for guests with luggage? Or is it necessary to take a pier side shuttle elsewhere to pick up transportation?

Could someone who has done this before please comment on your experience. I realize there will be a line for taxis and reservations required for transport. Recommendations appreciated.

At this time we are not interested in including a tour as part of the hotel transportation.

    Thank you for your help.

If the ship has come from a port inside the EU. Then there won't be any customs or immigration you just leave the ship. There could be a change to that because of the immigrant problem but I doubt it.

I do have a suggestion though. We did a cruise a few years ago on Ruby Princess ending in Barcelona. The problem was we were due to be off the ship at 8 am. So we booked a tour in a mini bus that met us at the cruise port. They kept the luggage in the bus, we toured Barcelona, Cathedral Familia, Gaudi's park and montserat. It was a very good tour and they drop you at your hotel at the end of the day.

  3. This June I will be going on a 12 night Northern European cruise on the Disney Wonder. It's going to be my 7th cruise but it's the first time that I'm considering wearing anything considerably more formal. I know since it's a Disney cruise that there's more of a relaxed, family vibe than a formal one, which leads me to my question: is a prom dress too formal to wear on formal night? I love this dress and I think that this might be a great opportunity to be able to wear it again but I don't want to be overly formal or even overdressed. Here's a picture of the dress for anybody who might be able to give me some insight :) b3a6eb9ec75a51404d49f7c30ea07ccd.jpg

You shouldn't ask other people what to wear. Some will like it, others won't. [emoji1] certain people would want you to wear a burka. If you want to wear it..... then wear it but wear it with confidence and enjoy it. It is no one else's business what you want to wear.

  4. Hello, this is my first time posting here, so please be gentle with me! My husband has a big birthday coming up in August, and we were thinking of a Mediterranean cruise starting in Southampton, UK. Yes, I realise I have probably left it too late for booking!

My question is, which ships/lines are best for combining family friendly facilities (in particular group baby sitting in the evenings) with dancing? We dance salsa and are also learning ballroom, so we would love to be on a ship that has proper ballroom lessons as well as live music in the evenings to dance to.

We. Have a five year old daughter who would be happy to go to kids clubs.

Any ideas? At the moment the ships coming up in August in the Med are the RCI Independance/Navigator of the Seas, and lots of P and O ones - Ventura, Azura, Oriana, Aurora.

I am loathe to book something and then find the only thing available is half an hour of line dancing a day!

Many thanks for any help you may be able to give me.

We were on P&O Ventura in October, there were dance lessons and there was ball room dancing in the atrium every evening.

  5. Just returned from a cruise on Ruby Princess. The smoking policy seemed to work, we avoided internal areas where smoking was allowed never went to the casino or sky walker nightclub. We found the ventilation system was not up to the job, smoke from the casino permeated the shopping area so did not use the shops. The one really irritating feature was on the promenade deck on the bow there is a vent that I think expels air from the casino and it stinks of cigarette smoke very very strong. Everyone like us that walk the promenade deck for exercise has to walk through it. The area's on the promenade deck where people smoke is not so much of an issue it is not so concentrated and you can always hold your breath while you walk past. This could be cured by extending the trunking so it expels out over the sea and not onto the deck. This has put me off booking with Princess again, someone earlier said (a smoker) if you don't like it don't book with Princess. I don't like it and I won't be booking with Princess again until they improve the ventilation system and stop expelling air full of smoke onto the promenade deck where people walk for exercise.
